  1. Well, if $7500 was each person's share, then only $7500 could be written off of the person who owed the money (it seems to me). I agree with raclay...with this much stuff going on, I think it would be better handled by an attorney. $500 (or whatever) well spent.
  2. I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me that the repayment of the $15,000 should have been divided between all four, as it was part of the estate. So that each child would get: Two kids not owing anything - $11,250 (original $7500 + 1/4 of $15,000 repayment [$3750]) Two kids owing money - $3,750 (original $0 + 1/4 of $15,000 repayment [$3750]) If you're that concerned, I would talk to a lawyer. However, I'm with mysterious...it would take a heck of a lot worse situation than this to get me to go to all that trouble. EDITED TO ADD: I just re-read your original post - what is the to
  3. Do you mean her peeps or us? I was here, and I remember well how she looked and behaved. You make a good point in that people may have a false sense of security with regard to Rx drugs. Either which way, you are correct. When you look at her in the early 90s and think of the $100M+ fortune she made, and then look at her starting 15 or so years ago until her death...DANG, but that is just a horrible picture. :sigh:
  4. The best one ever, Pubby. That was totally awesome.
  5. Excellent response. Very cool of you. Although, if she had a few brain cells working together, she would have realized that she could have a free tank of gas and spend her gas money on lottreh tickets. Der... Well done.
  6. They were all getting along fairly well in spite of their deep-seated differences, until somebody mentioned the tunnels and trick-or-treating, and then all hell broke loose.
  7. I'm so sorry! I don't blame you...I would have gone on home as well. I HATE stuff like that!
  8. HELLO...the day won't be rounded out until somebody asks when trick-or-treating is this year.
  9. Don't let South Carolina off the hook...they're already mad about the Savannah Harbor deepening project, and the tunnel thing just sent them.
  10. Yeah, from the descriptions of folks on here, it sounds to me like she's in her right mind. Well, not right, exactly...
  11. Cool! I like the Tavern...I might have to stop in there even if it is out of my way just to say thanks and put a few pennies in his coffers.
  12. The problem with what you say (although I agree with the sentiment totally) is that she's an adult. If she won't listen to reason, and she's in her right mind and not causing danger to anyone else, neither her family nor LE nor APS can do anything. They might could arrest her for some petty something related to her begging under false pretenses, but otherwise, their hands are tied.
  13. I LOVE In Living Color! Imma hafta go home and hunt up some episodes to watch. RE: mug shot - I do believe I could find her some chores to do for the next three years to wipe that smart-aleck smile off her face.
  14. Wow...if that's true on the first part (HG/DB area), that's stunning with so many empties already sitting there. But Mt. Moriah I can see. That is a LOVELY area (I just wish developers wouldn't cut down every tree in sight), and it's not overly built-up with a lot of empties sitting there.
  15. Serious bidness. They could just use that empty Daisy Farms or whatever it is, or that nearly empty David Pearson mondo thing on Old Alabama or wherever it is. Also, I don't consider 200 homes to be a massive subdivision. Ours has 320 and it seems just average.
  16. I agree. I should think any time any person is beaten up it is a hate crime. Are other crimes just dislike crimes?
  17. Believe me, I've had more up-close-and-personal experience with dementia to last me an eternity. One of the most devastating illnesses ever.
  18. Don't tell me they couldn't clear up all manner of crime if they really wanted to. Cf. NYC, mid-late 1990s, Giuliani.
  19. This is huge. I've read that continued treatment with this drug could be dangerous, BUT if they know it works in this manner, perhaps it could lead to something that would work the same way without being dangerous.
  20. OH...I thought it sounded like he was describing some type of store that I didn't know about. I haven't followed this case closely, but can the DA actually shut down a privately-owned store? I'm sure he could seize assets and charge the owner with criminal enterprise or something (I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know what you'd call it), but can he really just shut it down? A regular store? Oh, my bad. FTA: Police Zone 3 commander Maj. Barbara Cavender has said authorities will use the city’s public nuisance ordinance to close the store. The ordinance defines a building as a nuisance if
  21. Ditto. I think it could have been handled effectively in another way, and without embarrassing her in front of the whole country. Not saying she didn't deserve a knot yanked in her behind...
  22. Uh...YEAH. One of my nephews can lag behind me when I turn the corner to another aisle and I immediately make a u-turn so I can see him till he catches up. The thought of him being out of my sight freaks me out.
