I like Asus laptops. They include spill, drop, etc warranties while the others don't.

StraightTalk works fine for me. One caveat: the internet interface is clunky so you won't be doing any high powered downloads, music/video streaming, etc. Voice and text stuff is as good as anyone else's service. The actual network is Verizon Pre-paid (not Verizon's regular network.) If your mobile internet needs are light, you can't beat StraightTalk.Get a Droid, IPhone, Blackberry, other high power gizmo if super-duper internet is important. Money no object? Spend much more and get more. Great voice/text but so-so internet ok? StraightTalk $45/month unlimited plan is tough to beat. Don't for

It's hotter than a $2 pistol... (yes it's old)

Corner Cafe (on the old courthous square nest to Judy Bagby's office) is hard to beat. Least expensive high quality sit-down breakfast in the county - bar none. They don't have big veggie menus for lunch but do have good salads, sandwiches, etc. Free coffee with breakfast! (not open for supper though)

REMEMBER HANK (GUAM IS GOING TO TIP OVER) JOHNSON?

I feel Chihuahas nipping at my heels. Let me go over this again using someone else's words from a blog post on the same subject: I can't help wondering who is the more ignorant here; the person making a statement so patently absurd that he can't be serious, expecting his listeners to realize that he is exaggerating, or those who hearing such a patently absurd statement, and completely missing the fact that it is *so* absurd that he couldn't possibly be serious then attack *him* for the fact that they are so dense. I also wonder how many of those now attacking Johnson were a few days ag -

Not that it matters, but the screen name stuff (various spellings and random characters, random characters then reversed, etc) is from Pubby typing in different name stuff on my profile while he and I were talking in his office one day. I considered "eatmore^^" because people should eat more "carrots." I was also trying to decide whether to be Well Red (since I am southern born and have lived in Paulding for 47 years) or Read (since I always read a lot and often was more educated (formally and school of hard knocks) than many of my professors. After speaking to me a few times on various v -
REMEMBER HANK (GUAM IS GOING TO TIP OVER) JOHNSON?

Maybe an inadequate amount of context is the impediment you struggle with. It is a very common obstacle to understanding. It is the most common method used to discredit many things. Don't want to know? Stay away from the context. Might actually start to "get it." And if you really got nuttin' for a reasoned discussion, ask me where I'm from. Hey, did ya'll hear Hank Johnson thinks Guam will physically tip over and tomorrow we have to start driving down the road in reverse? No, really... they are both true. Honest. I just couldn't be wrong or have misunderstood... -

Obtuse is not facing that the admiral, with more context and actually trying to understand what was being said, actually knew what he meant! You guys are trying to tell me the earth is flat. I know better. But stick with it... it is probably too embarassing for you to admit the truth now. Talk about painting youselves into a corner... no way out now! Ya'll are so funny. -

It speaks to sticking with flawed logic even after reasoned examination proves it wrong. One can persist with intentionally not understanding or one can actually try to discern meaning. Reagan was sick and was actually in the first stages of dementia 1-3 years before his term ended. If you actually tried though, you could usually figure out what he meant even when he made mistakes. Anyone who actually believes Hank Johnson actually thinks or thought that Guam would physically disconnect and actually turn upside down...well they ain't trying to figure out what's going on. They have a m -
REMEMBER HANK (GUAM IS GOING TO TIP OVER) JOHNSON?

As I said before, I saw the video. He did not use the best or most clear metaphor but it takes mean-spirited intentional misinterpretation to not read between those lines. It could also be not having enough contextual knowledge. He was speking of the ecological impact and even foreseeing how it would be hard to reverse the damage (once you pass the tipping point.) I was a precocious 10 year old and really enjoyed catching adults in little miscommunications. I learned a little later that it is better to actually try to understand what the speaker means. It leads to better comprehension. (a -

No way Jose. Popular unexamined ridiculing and mean spirited myth. No credibility upon real examination. I know a dyslexic person who is very intelligent who will point RIGHT and then say "turn left!" Since I know how it works I just go ahead and turn right. When I try, I can actually understand imperfect expression (sometimes). I admit I did turn the wrong direction verbally indicated a few times till it sunk in for me what was actually being said. -

Actually he is ill and on some serious medicine. He did not believe Guam would actually turn over though. It was more along the lines of "but if we plant 6 tomatoe plants per square foot" won't it be too many? It would be past the tipping point or beyond what could be supported. He misspoke slightly or didn't make his reference clear but most assuredly did not believe Guam would dislodge and turn over. He perhaps should have used a more universally understood metaphor such as "it will be the straw that will break the camel's back" to put that many more people on the small island of Guam. -

I watched the video where he supposedly indicated he thought Guam would physically dislodge from its attachment and flip over if 80,000 more troops were to be located there. (or however many) Does anyone seriously believe he actually thought the island would tip? Wasn't it sort of plain that he was referring to the point or situation where just a little/few more of whatever will be too much to support? Think of the straw breaking a camel's back. Think of putting 3 cows per acre of pasture when the ground is only rich enough for 1 cow per 3 acres or trying to run 6 gallons of gas into a 5 -
Well, when my then wife and I went to a costume party one time, she went as "Happy the Clown." I went as the favorite Roman General of the lisping Emperor... just joking. Big feet don't mean anything. Apologies for the Mel Brooks reference.

I think it is both. It is actually more of a "freedom except for some as long as it's us good people who choose who is not to be allowed freedom" thing. And it is so shiny. Sarah says so.

Once in a blue moon (to use an old expression) you can find good running/workout shoes at Sams Club including New Balance, Reebok, Avia, etc. The catch is the selection will dwindle quickly. I just bought some very good Avia shoes in my width (EEEE) at the Hiram Sams for $26.84 plus tax. Ususlly I have to pay a lot more for my shoes than most folks do because because of my nearly freakishly wide feet. Sams Club almost alway has a decent selection in average widths. There is never a huge selection of models and brands though.

Yes, I remember watching that stuff. It was and is pretty sickening even if somewhat understandable. I also saw flags (Iranian and American) being burned where I went to engineering school during the Iranian hostage crisis. What was truly awesome was that I knew many people from the mideast who didn't cotton to any of that mess. Many were very antagonistic to their radical fellow countrymen because of it. Guess which ones were interviewed and videotaped?

Yes but it is no accident that it is near Tuskeegee. George Washington Carver found hundreds of great uses and products that can be made from the lowly peanut and the Boll Weevil damaging cotton crops was the impetus for the research. It's a great story. His brilliant work saved many farmers and farm lands from ruin. Thus the monument to the Boll Weevil.

What it actually confirms is that when you got nuttin', you invariably respond with something flip without substance. You can't just say nothing when you have nothing to say. Then someone else with nothing substantial to add...claps, rolls eyes.

And how many tens of thousands of americans are promoting hatred and distrust (and eventual violence) against them? Wrong on both counts. And by anyone's body count, they might be at ten thousand total of us beside well over 1,000,000 of them. Of course, most of the Muslims who we killed were in the country that had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. Why should they be upset? Why should I be upset that Bush lying us into Iraq helped the Iranian resurgance? I need to learn to just keep looking at the shiny objects...I guess it would be much simpler.

Sure, and when 11-Alive came out to interview locals about BigFoot being in Hannah Swamp, they found the most representative Paulding Countians to interview about it. NOT! Dog bites man - not news Man Bites Dog - news And there are scumbags in other countries and here who celebrate bad things happening. There will be no good americans celebrating if someone is denied the right to freedom of worship in the US. "The greatest danger in a democracy is a tyranny of the majority." (Jefferson?) Freedom of religion is both an individual and societal right in the US. Protect

The extremists are already on the outside. Actually, sometimes their muslim descent extremists are farther away from their mainstream than our extremists are from our mainstream branches. There will always be sympathizers to the extreme views who attempt to act mainstream. They have to maintain some subterfuge to do it though. There are polar ends at either extreme end of any belief system continuum.

You are 100% correct. There are myriad instances where Muslim leaders, in this country and outside, have spoken out against extremist violence. It was in fact a Muslim who spotted the Times Square car bomb situation and reported it two other people. They then all 3 grabbed a policeman who made the emergency call. The Muslim man who first spotted the smoke and was the actual hero (at least more than the other two guys who got the credit.) I don't think CNN or FOX got that one right. CNN is often lazy and FOX is intentionally indoctrinating those who do not want to know.
