  1. The *only* concealer I use is Physicians Formula. Since I started using IGF's Saving Face soap, I've actually been going sans make-up. Since the beginning of October I've only worn it for HR's birthday parties, Halloween, and tonight.

But, the Physician's Formula does wonders for under eye circles, but blends so well with your skin that I don't have to wear foundation with it. Awesome, because I have freckles that I hate covering up or diminishing with foundation. ^_^

ETA: Physician's Formula can get pricey - the only thing I use is their stick concealer, and it's only a couple of bucks.

  2. I would take LGM and we would start a commune where peace, free love, bartering, and living off the land keep us safe through tough times.

I know A LOT of hippies that do this now...just travel around...eating what they can, trading food for crafts or clothes...this is a modern day occurance that is VERY popular in FL and GA.

I heart you, you mind reader  :p

  3. OK---so I'm a generation behind you guys, but my siblings and I used to rush off the bus to watch Power Rangers----I mean the ORIGINAL, not the crap that's on now----My brother found an old VHS where we recorded a few.....Can you say CHEESY!!!!!!! The buildings the Megazord was stomping and knocking over were made of CARDBOARD!!!!

How did we not notice?

    ::sniffsniff::

But I loved the Power Rangers!

I bet you remember this one : Keenan and Kel. :bad:

LOVED that show when I was a kid, but it gets on my nerves now. 'Who loves orange soda?!?'

  4. A-Team is still cool! So is Dukes of Hazard, Knight Rider, Air Wolfe, Hardcastle and McCormick and Stingray. :D

The only one of those I've ever seen an episode of is Dukes of Hazard, simply because I love the Dodge Charger. The only other one I've ever even heard of is Knight Rider, and I didn't know what that was until about 4 year ago.

That the french is an Air Wolfe?

I say Fresh Prince. Loved it as a kid, but I can't stand it now.

  5. You've gotten some good suggestions ... if keeping your joints warm helps, find or make some cozies for them. You could knit (or crochet) some fingerless gloves and kneewarmers and wear those - wool is warmest, but silk would probably work, too. Do with them what I do with my reading glasses: say 'to hell with it' and make 'em as wild and funky as possible and flaunt 'em! :D

I can relate to a certain extent - I have Raynaud's Syndrome, which is where the capillaries in the extremities nearly shut down when exposed to cooler temperatures. Even in the summertime, if I get chilled, my fingers go absolutely *white* and get completely numb. In the winter, forget it - they're *constantly* cold and numb to the point that it gets hard to write or type or hold things. I'm constantly in search of the perfect pair of gloves that are warm enough to help but flexible enough to work in - and *yes* I wear them inside a lot! Get some odd looks but don't care. :p

    Good luck!

It's good stuff - the physical therapist used it on me when I tore my calf muscle a few years ago.

And you can find it cheaper on eBay - that's where I bought mine. ;)

I could so crochet something. ^_^ Didn't even think about that!

See LGM!! We need to have our knitting night sooner than later ...

I know! You need to teach me to knit so I can make myself some cool left handed gloves - like Michael Jackson.

    Oh.. you poor thing.

If the heat helps, you can get some pads that you heat in the microwave. I think you've made them too. And as others have said, that bio-freeze stuff is awesome. I had to put some on my wrist and hand last night. Have also tried taking some supplements like fish oil or glucosamine? It probably wouldn't totally eliminate it, but can help reduce the symptoms.

I do make those - but I typically make them with rice or cornfeed. I love the smell, but folks in the office do not. The corn feed can actually sort of smell like popcorn. Unlike the guy behind me ( ), I don't want to make other folks hungry with the smell of popcorn (like he's currently making me :glare: )

I didn't read everyone's reply, so if someone already suggested this, I agree with them!

My mom has arthritis in her arms, and she uses the heating pads that you stick onto wherever it hurts. Those would be good for work ;)

You can get them in the pharmacy area at Wal-Mart.

Awesome idea - I'd rather not fork out for pathches all the time, though. :nea:

  6. I have an arthiritic kneee from an injury which required surgery and Motrin helps me. I also use DMSO which was not medically approved for humans but is used as a horse linament amongst other things. I used to work for a pharmacist years ago and he had tendinitis real bad in his elbow and this is what he used. He also recommended this to some of his customers but could not sell it for this purpose because it technically is a solvent. At that time my grandmother had real bad arthritis in her fingers and knees and this was the only thing that gave her relieve. It does leave a garlic taste in your mouth. It's possible it may me fda approved now. Do a google on it. Hope your arthiritis improves. Your too young to be having these kind of problems.

Thanks - I'll go google that. And I know I'm too young - I ask my other half all the time 'Are you sure you can handle this forever? It's only going to get worse.'

Thanks for the advice everybody!! I didn't realize so many other folks had arthritis.

  7. Man - it must really be bad to have posted that many times..........you're too young to have that issue. Sorry it's bothering you.

    :p

The joints I have arthritis in are joints with previous 'injury or trauma'...atleast that's what the doc said caused it. :pardon: I had prenatal arthritis (had never even heard of such) in my wrist when I was pregnant with HR, and it just never went away. Do you know the odds on that one? I'm always that .2% that crazy things happen to.

  8. I have arthritis, and the cold weather is killing me. Last night my knee and wrist hurt so bad I just went and sat in a really hot tub until it stopped. Obviously, I can't do this at work. ^_^ What can I do?

OH! And sorry about the gazillion posts - it started posting everytime I hit the space bar ( ) and I didn't catch it because I type so fast.

  9. I heard about this yesterday, its awesome news!

    I think so too!

I would love for the news to somewhat keep track of this guy, or to hear about him again later. HIV positive people can test negative - sometimes folks who have almost died with HIV can make a turn around and wind up being 'undetectable'...but it would be really awesome if his doesn't make a comeback.

  10. Today was wonderful! All I can say is that the ladies that work at the shelter are absolutely amazing. They were so patient with me as the girls and I looked at various cats to adopt. After over an hour of looking at various cats, we finally narrowed it down to three cats. Kelly told me that it might be a good idea to let the girls choose one each since it was obvious that all three cats were perfect additions to our home.

    Emily chose Enjay:

    010-1.jpg

She is a beautiful torti that has been at the shelter since April. She is laid back but playful when she wants to be. She is the oldest of the two cats. She has been inspecting the house and has nibbled a bit on some cat food.

    Bella chose Sammy:

    012.jpg

Sammy is just like Bella!! He is the younger one, super playful and loves his new kitty toys. It has been challenging to capture a pic of him because he has been wandering all over the place.

Both cats were great in the car, they ate a little when we got home and they went around the whole house inspecting everything. Now the cats are playing and show no signs of having difficulty settling in. It's awesome.

Thank you to everyone who donated, thank you to Kelly, and a big thank you to the shelter workers! There are a ton of beautiful cats & dogs, I hope they all find homes soon …

    YAYYYYY!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  11. regardless.

I am simply trying to find out what time people with children under the age of 17 normally wrap up dinner and a night out.

I don't have small children, or children that I take to restaurants where liquor is served. So I'm trying to get an idea of what time to come out and not hafta be around kids at what I consider to be a bar.

It really is a simple question.

Ok - HR sometimes goes with us to Buffalo Wild Wings when we go to eat and watch a game/fight. I consider that to be a 'bar' atmosphere at night, probably because we go there to hang out and drink when she's not with us. When she IS with us, we vacate no later than 9. That's way past bedtime, anyway. ^_^

  12. I'm trying to find the nicest way possible to ask........ but it doesn't seem to be working.

How late should I wait to come to MacFarlane's on a friday night if I don't want to be around other people's children?

Or should I not come at all because kids are there till 1am.

Or should I not come at all because folks will be offended by reading that I don't want to be around their kids and will throw rocks at me upon my arrival?

I think you should come.

Heard a cute redhead may make an appearance. :pardon:

  13. over a cliff? she was two feet away from the railing.

still scary though. kinda like the time some jackass let my baby girl get way too close to the edge of the top of a waterfall.

i wanna puke everytime i think of that incident. she still thinks it's hysterical.

That was the title of the video...and why I put a '?' at the end of the title. :p . She was super close to falling though. My heart dropped.

  14. Give us a hint then.... is it a type of cookware?

    Nope.

    Kitchenware though.

I'm addicted to kitchenware, but I never actually get any. I'm 100% convinced that if I had kitchenware that I liked, I might cook more often. So far, my theory is correct. I wound up with new cookware from an aunt and I've cooked alot more often with it. :pardon:
