I'm SO glad my parents didn't know about p.com when I was in high school.
-
snow would be nice.
Please GOD no. I would still have to go into work - and folks 'round here drive like crazy folks when it rains....I can't IMAGINE that commute in snow.
-
OK...I'm a grown up little girl and I'm kind of digging the brown clippies with the gingerbread men.
Those are my favorite. I SO love gingerbread men.
-
too cute! I just wish I had a little girl that would let me use pretty little clips
I should make her sports clips. Or clips to match her clip shoes...then her hair wouldn't get in her face when she's riding in the wind.

That carpet ROCKS!
i hear it's making a comeback.'Tis Winter, after all.

Lgm, Don't make any sudden stops.
You know me...I never stop. How do you think I stay so thin? I just keep on movin'.

He does have a little bit of a creepy face, dolls give me the creeps anyway. Good thing I have boys
He's the cutest little elf ever!
He actually reminds me of a Kewpie doll.

That's a halloween movie isn't it *dephead*
It works for BOTH. The characters are from Halloween Town, but for 99% of the movie they're 'Making Christmas'...all ending with the realization that Christmas just isn't Christmas without the real Santa.

Nightmare Before Christmas.

I'm calling DFACS on you!!!!
I worked at B&N the last two Christmas seasons and Elf on the Shelf was a BIG hit. I absolutely could NOT wait for HR to be old enough (this year) to comprehend the whole idea and get her the book/elf. Now she's old enough....and I don't have the extra money to get it this year.
I definitely miss that B&N discount, that's for sure.

Oh that sounds SOOOOO good!
I just got my hair cut there though.

Yup - there will be very, VERY few store bought gifts this year. My step-mom hates that I make 'stuff' for people rather than buying something 'useful or something they want'. This conversation took place a couple of days ago-
Her: What are you getting your sister?
Me: Hand-made crochet scarf and either handmade soap or earrings
Her: Oooooooook? Your brother?
Me: Beer soap and a Tennesee scarf...handmade
Her: Your SIL?
Me: Soap and a scarf
Her: ......
Me: The only two left are you and dad...might as well not even ask.
My siblings will absolutely adore their gifts, as will my dad. She's the only one I'll have a problem with. All of my cousins are getting scarves, bows, tutus or purses. I have a couple of boy cousins I'm clueless on at the moment. The ONLY store-bought gifts I have on my gigantic list are for Dxh's little sister, little brother, and mom.

I'm so jealous.
But I can't knit. I've tried, and tried, and tried...

20 mins???? I spend HOURS on a scarf.
I can finish a scarf in about an hour and a half, if I'm not doing anything else. The 'one-hour scarf' really does only take an hour, or less, depending on what is distracting me (like House MD )
-
LGM it is easy .I don't think you will have a problem. I used to do it myself to my own hair by looking at my hair in a mirror to see the back. Nothing to it.
If you can't catch the hang of it. I have a way of using strands of leather and small beads that is so sesy. You just put it on the hair and pull the hair through and raise a bead up each time. Then you are finished. Easy as pie and pretty to.
Oh no...no beads please! She hasn't figured out that those exist yet.
Hey Cheffy, I have actually braided Black girls' hair for them! I love coming up with creative hair styles! That's actually how HR wound up with braided hair all the time. Her teachers and the little girls in her class are all black - she wanted her hair to be all pretty like theirs rather than just in a ponytail or bun everyday.
-
*giggle*
I'd say we could have a hairbraiding party at my house, but you know how that'd turn out.
-
It's pretty easy if you know how to do regular braids.
All you have to do is pick up a little hair each time you cross a piece over.
I keep getting told that, but I can't make it work.
I'm a visual learner though. If somebody stands infront of me and does it once, I'm good for life.

Hey why didnt you ask me?????? If Im not busy at the shop one day I can teach you and who ever wants to learn. Just let me know
I have no idea why I didn't ask you, actually...that's a genius idea! I also didn't find out until today that her teacher won't be there anymore - her teacher told me a few weeks ago that she would teach me.
So there - You're going to teach me. .
p.s. I have my bangs pulled back.
-
she is so dang cute...
I can regular braid... buit not french braid...
She's absolutely rotten.
In that last picture, she was 'shakin' her tush' (as she puts it) at the camera while I was trying to get a picture of her hair.
-
Okay...HR's teacher has been braiding her hair regularly for quite some time now. It's adorable. She loves it and wants it done regularly, but I can't french braid or do the crazy little braided hair-do's that her teacher can do.
Found out this morning that the teacher doesn't work there anymore - that would most definitely explain why her hair hasn't been braided in a couple of weeks, and why she keeps asking me to do it.
I don't know how. Somebody teach me.

Hey all! I have a bunch of holiday mini-clips ready to go, as well as many bows. I'll post the bows later this evening, but here are the mini-clips. They are 2 for $3 or $1.50 each. The bows are $3 each or 2 for $5, and have all sorts of holiday prints like candy canes, peppermints, jingle bells, Christmas trees, and I may even have a couple of gingerbread left!

I couldn't wear those.

I really think her and sarah are sooo much alike! THat was the whole reason I went looking for a pattern bc sar wouldnt wear regular gloves. I figure some warmth is better then none. She wore her camo ones this morning and I kept seeing her boxing air....hope I havent gotten us in trouble! LOL
