Hmm. I was down that way just before 3 pm and noticed some kids walking along the fence at the subdivision across from the park. I was looking for a specific address and didn't pay them much attention, really. Judging by their height, which was all I noticed, really, one may have been around 11-12, and the other was a good bit shorter. Seven sounds about right. Not sure where on Allgood Church, but there are a few ways to get to the road itself. From the last brush fire thread: I made these a few years ago when I was out in that area and stopped to walk through the cemetery. There are some pretty old graves out there.

I think I may have heard that. I'm a little west of your area, and it had thundered just a little and then stopped, and then there was this really bright flash and loud boom! I was waiting for the dog to come get into the truck with me...the noise was just the motivation Mr. Slowpoke needed to get his butt in gear. It scared me enough to close the truck door til he got close enough to get in. I hope her refusal to be taken for treatment means she was ok when the ambulance arrived & checked her out.
