  1.  Mine said my starting age is 81, and I will live to be 71.

    I am not 81.

Nor will I ever be, according to this

The birthday calculator, (and subsequent name calculator) were pretty darn accurate though.

  2. Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt?

Maybe 'him'orrhoid would be more fitting........ :ninja:

  3. Dr. Judy is the longest established veterinarian in this area, if I'm not mistaken, and he's very well respected. I don't know what your idea of a 'mom/pop' veterinary office is, exactly, but his office is modest, his son is now practicing with him, and though he doesn't chit-chat throughout the visit, he seems to sincerely care about the welfare of his patients and their people. I've also not ever heard of him charging outrageously high prices, or pressuring his clients in any way.

Most recently I've used King Animal Hospital in Rockmart because it's more convenient to my home and they've always been helpful and reasonably priced.

If I needed to use a vet here in Paulding I would more than likely use Dr. Judy since I'm familiar with him, he's reputable & honest and has many years' experience in veterinary medicine.

I used Hiram Animal Hospital years ago, and in the beginning was very well pleased with them. Then I had a similar experience to some described here, and never went back again.

  4. I'd like to add that at least she doesn't come back with the same rote answers that seem to coincide with whatever the county has in the works already. Yes, I know, they have no authority whatsoever, so go write my congressman or buy up all the land in the county and stop complaining......which brings me to my next point-

Why is it that the minute someone tries to get discussion going about something that is outside the agenda of the BOC, or wants to vent about something that might reflect badly on the local government, there are a select few here who rush to discredit them or worse, complain that they are discussing ideas on a MESSAGE BOARD and then throw some lame dismissal their way, as though this is the private clubhouse for 'men with chapped butts' or the cheerleading section for the PCBOC? I find it odd that someone who isn't even ON the board seems to be the unofficial spokesperson for the county government (and anyone else, for that matter) while our own commission chairman engages in lighthearted banter when he posts here and occasionally fields a question relating to the county (but that's the exception, not the rule) IF it doesn't back him into a corner and is easily summed up without getting into too much detail. What is up with that, anyway? I personally would rather my information come from someone who is directly involved, not someone hiding behind an alias or someone who has no direct dealings with the governance of the county.

Maybe there are those who would rather discuss potential solutions, after all, that's how actual solutions are found, by starting with an idea, whether feasible or not, and working from there til you have a workable plan. Yes, I realize it might not run parallel with the BOC's carefully laid plans, but then their plans don't seem to be enhancing the quality of life here for many, so big deal.

Or are you some of those patriots who now view the Constitution and the protection it affords as an evil threat to the American way of life?

  5. Yes, Fulton County, near Fulton Industrial, that's what I said.

And I know there's one near Cartersville, I said I don't know the name of it. Didn't know it had a name, to be honest. It always looks sort of deserted to me.

Villa Rica is on the opposite side of the county from me. Don't know squat about it. I can tell you a little about Rockmart, Van Wert, Braswell and the lovely community of Yorkville, though. :D

Is everything in Villa Rica near Mirror Lake?

  6. Charlie Brown Airport is in Fulton County, near Fulton Industrial and what used to be Gordon Road. I don't know what they call it now. I also don't know the name of the airport near Cartersville. I've never once seen anything ever going on there when I've been in the area.

    Stockmart?

Ok you two carry on. This is entertaining.

Edited to add: The jail is relatively new, considering the fact that it hasn't yet been 20 years since they were using the one behind the city of Dallas parking lot. The courthouse is antiquated, yes, but the jail here has improved GREATLY, all things considered. In fact, despite some opinions, the sheriff's department has come a long way during that time as well.

  7. officer 191 10-76

Yes, and it didn't happen in a very good spot, either. The officer had to stop right in a curve, and for whatever reason he left his car in the road. I came around the curve and had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him, because as soon as you saw the lights and car you were practically on top of him. I do realize he didn't have any choice as to where the limb fell, and it appeared he was trying to block traffic from hitting it, but how dangerous for him.....I was glad to see him get into his car and leave after I came by, because someone going very fast or not paying attention rolling through there wouldn't have been able to stop in time to avoid hitting him and/or his patrol car.

  8. I've seen several in recent weeks, one in downtown Dallas and one down toward Hiram.

This will surely start a fight (unless, for once, everyone tries to be rational rather than argumentative), but I think it's a legitimate question: if it's dangerous for everyone else, why is it not dangerous for Miss Jessie to dance around in this same intersection? Just as some were ripped apart for suggesting the fund raisers stay out of the road, there have been some who have defended her tendency to stand on the little concrete island dead center of this intersection where there's no protection at all if a driver lost control or there were an accident in that spot.

If she were my close friend, I'd encourage her to stay out of that particular place, but that's just me.

  9. I know there is someone that takes pics, I will email her.  Who does hair?  A free style or cut..........I know a lady who does ads.............

    I am a thinkin

Edited cause I think faster than I type

Do you know or can you find out what kind of vehicle he is looking for a motor for, or what specific motor he needs?

  10. Sometimes they'll do that when you change their food, also. Was your friend feeding the dog puppy chow?

I'd give it time, it probably IS just the new environment. That said, it's always good to have a puppy checked out early on because unvaccinated puppies are susceptible to a number of things, such as parvo, that can be deadly to them.

Most puppies need to be wormed, too. ;)

What kind of puppy is it?

  11. Wow, thanks. You know I misread that the first time, just went back and looked at it again. Sorry. :( I never met her but judging from how nice the members of their family are that I have met I'm sure she was a wonderful woman and I really hate this for them.

I checked back here and never saw a response or anything but when I was going to work this morning I saw there were funeral signs at their house; it didn't occur to me to go back and re-read the original post again. To be honest, those signs caught me off guard because I thought surely the lack of a response here meant that (s)he survived.

At any rate, I do appreciate the corrected information and regret my error.
