  1. If the unit has not been serviced in a while, I would go ahead and call someone unless you are willing to live without AC for a while. I have heard from several AC guys and they are swamped. Might want to get your name on the list.
  2. Great tip. I would also point out that overflowing gutters can allow water at the foundation of the house which can result in leaks inside the house, crawlspace or basement.
  3. Wow.. I see the whole House gang is looking at the water bowl.
  4. I have had alot of strange conversations trying to help customers, but never anything that bad.
  5. Ditto for me. I can put on enough clothes to stay warm, but in the summer I can go naked and still be hot.
  6. It sounds like you have some files damaged either by the infection or by the virus removal process that you performed. It is also possible that you still have viruses on the system. Give me a call and let's talk. Mike 404-234-2703
  7. First, attempt to do a system restore to an earlier date. Here is a link for XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 If you have Vista or 7, just google "system restore" and "vista". Report back with the results and I will provide some other tips.
  8. I can't stand it. My glasses immediately fog up when I exit the car.
  9. I agree with your last statement for the most part. The only thing that I might disagree with is the loan part. If someone has a limited amount of money to to lend, I do believe that the white guy may be chosen over other races. However, if that is the only issue, black or white does not matter, only green (as in how much money they can make).
  10. Let me add another scenario to this. I once worked for a large company that had been sued for discrimination. Without admitting to discrimination, the company agreed to a consent decree in which they would give preference to African Americans. Personally, I saw no such discrimination since we had lots of employees that were not white and all of the black people that I talked with thought the decree was unwarranted. I had a good black friend that had been serving as a temporary manager and was doing a wonderful job. He was diligent to make sure we did our jobs and was fair in his treatment of u
  11. I guess next they will not be able to cheer at the game out of fear of hurting someones feelings.
  12. I wish that I did. I have a 12 gauge, a 44, and a 357. You find him and we will go have a talk.
  13. I have been asked if there are computer classes available for older folks and the answer is yes. There are 3 outlets that I am aware of that provide training: (You need to verify that this info is current). 2. West Central Technical College - (Douglas and Carrol Campus) This course is 4 days and 3.5 hours per day. The cost is $129 + $25 for the book. You can call 770-836-6615 for more info. https://coned.westga...DUCATION+CENTER 3. Chattahoochee Tech - The cost is $134 for 2 3.5 hour sessions. http://aceweb.chattc...p?~~GROUP~:Full I can also provide 1 on 1 training over
  14. I have a Garmin and love it. Check out the reviews for all the models and brands on Amazon and Newegg.
  15. This is an oldie but a goodie. Lily Tomlin playing a telephone customer service rep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9e3dTOJi0o
  16. Oh no....I think she is hermaphroditing.
  17. After comparing prices at the ATT site, I discovered that the price for the slowest DSL speed is identical ($19.95) regardless of whether you have voice service or not. All of the other speeds are 5 bucks more if you do not have voice. I dug around a little and found this article on the Consumer Reports Site (see quote below): http://blogs.consume...-landlines.html You are correct, but my understanding is that the 911 operator will only have an approximate location of where you are. This could be a problem if you are unable to give them directions.
  18. I can hardly believe it, but ATT is actually advertising DSL without a phone. It is posted on their DSL page. http://www.bellsouth...html?src=lftnav My only concern about doing away with the phone line is you lose the best 911 service. When you call them, they know exactly where you are and will send help even if you can't speak.
  19. You mean someone put out all those signs. Heck, I thought they were some type of exotic weeds that only occasionally germinated.
  20. I will also sell Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for $100 if you prefer to do your own install.
  21. Some of the same arguments are made for legalizing both. 1. We could collect tax on it. 2. We could regulate it and thus make it safer. 3. People are going to do it anyway, so we might as well legalize it. I'm not for legalizing either one by the way. However, I do think that marijuana should be available via prescription as a schedule 2 controlled substance due to its medicinal value.
  22. If it were legalized, I doubt that there would be a sufficient profit for the home based grower. Large farms would begin producing it and it would be impossible for the small grower to compete with them. I do not know of any home producers of Tobacco and I should think that pot would be in the same category when it comes to growing it and turning it into a finished product. So, financially speaking, it is more profitable if it remains illegal as long as the grower does not get caught.
