IMHO, it has more impact on young kids to call it accidental (meaning he did not mean to die but his drug use caused his death and if you use drugs, you can die) than calling it a suicide.

I never locked my kids in a room, heck they slept with me until they were 4-5. (I know a whole another topic and can of worms.lol) However, I have friends that have done this and this is a HUGE difference between locking your kid in a room while they sleep and locking your kid in a room until they fall asleep. When the doctors suggested to lock the door, they meant in a safe room with supervision (you standing at the door or monitors), and only until the child fell asleep.
