I had a stray, Shaggy, come up and stayed about 1 year. He was my guardian angel. I was going through a very dangerous time in my life, and he was very protective of me. I slept on the coach and I cannot tell you how many times I would wake up and he would be there standing guard over me watching me sleep. He also let me know on numerous times that "someone" was trying to break in. After I met my husband and things become safe and normal, Shaggy left. I am sure he was an angel and went on to help another family.

Keep in mind that your daughter had you. Had she not had a strong mom to believe in her and protect her, she may not have found the strength to make it stop. You were you daughter's savior. You believed in her her and she knew she could come to you. A lot of victims do not have that and they are truly trapped in a warped perception of reality. We have no idea how McKenzie was groomed, nor do we know if she truly had any adult in her life to count on, and considering her early drug use and the fact that no adult tried to stop it, i doubt she had anyone.

We have no idea when the abuse started. As a Domestic Violence Advocate, I would be SHOCKED if it really started at 19. Even if it did, he was an authority figure in her life and he abused that power. He groomed her just let any other predator would do. He was a PREDATOR and she was a victim. Want incest to continue, then force the victims to stay silent for fear of judgement and ridicule. It is only when we as a society can pull back the curtains and shine light on the abuse will we ever move forward, and make cases such as these things of the past. He was an authority

It is very important that anyone that was abused step forward. Not only does it help with their own healing, but it opens the door for others to step forward. Many would be shocked to learn the incest and sexual abuse survivors we have on this board. Just like with any predator, they "groom" their victims. Never blame or judge the victims no matter how hard it is to understand, when we blame the victim we continue the cycle. When we embrace the victim as that, and help them heal and move on, we are making the first step to breaking the cycle.

If you have to go back because the other party is incontempt, there is a good chance the judge will make the other party pay your legal fees. Plus, you need to have all your bases covered at all times. What is he gets married and moves out of state and wants to take the kids or the summer? Who pays the airline tickets? (I have 1 paragraph that covers many issues such as this in my papers!!!!) What if your child needs tutoring down the road? Will he pay half...will his new wife allow him to pay half? There are many things that can happen and you need to have your butt covered.

you need a lawyer. DO NOT TRY TO DO IT WITHOUT A LAWYER!!!!!!!! If you have children, your divorce papers will become the "golden commandment" and every disagreement will be decided by what those dang papers spell out. Even if you have a good relationship with your soon to be ex, you have no idea what will happen in the future such as him getting a witch for a new wife etc.... You need to be proactive now and it will be easier in the long run. Most laywers will requrie about half down and the rest has to be paid before the papers are final. HTH

My kids are never bad.......except yesterday and today. I caught all 3 teen boys playing slip and slide in the wet grass yesterday.......they could have broke an arm, ankle, leg...caught the flu...but no....they would run and then slide into the wet grass like they had no common sense whatsoever. And now today....they are bored.... Is school closed tomorrow? If so, I may be on a wine run....
