First, let me congratulate the students at that school for being proven to not only not be holding drugs but on the county sheriff's inadvertent gift that will likely result in a judgement that could pay the first year of college tuition for each of the students in the high school. That is quite an innovative social welfare program. pubby

If they're really big, what you may have are ravens. If you want to know what kind of intelligence with which you're dealing, check out this video on how a juvenile raven stole the dog food. pubby

This is a crime as bad, if not worse, than a guard at a juvenile women's detention center raping a 13 year old girl in custody. pubby

I seem to remember that purple martins are crows worst enemy when in flight. The Martins, capable of adjusting their flight to pick off multiple mosquitoes in flight, attack the larger birds in a convincing manner much like a big brother pokes his little brother incessantly with his finger to reduce the tyke to the ground in a ball of giggles ... except the martin's beak is sharper as is the pain. This discussion peaked my interest. Here is a documentary entitled "murder of crows" ... pubby

How many times have you or any of your family ever used the facilities at Target? I know I never have. Indeed, I think I've been in public facilities at places like Walmart, K-Mart, Kroger, Safeway, etc. probably no more than 20 times in sixty-six years. Not a great concern or high priority for me. However for a little bit different perspective - beware the language is raw - here is the liberal redneck's take on transgender issues: pubby

I think you need to go back a bit further to the time; like to the time of Alexander Hamilton and the initial emergence of the Whig party. The American revolution was a bourgeois revolt from the gathering of farmers, publishers, shippers, preachers and lawyers in Philly in 1776. Money and power have always had inordinate levels of influence in this nation. The difference between political parties, which traditionally were a broad mixture of both conservative and liberal influences, is that the Democrats (except during the civil war) were generally more inclined to promote the interests

Scientists to march in Atlanta on message that science is your friend The above video is from Neil DeGrass Tyson and speaks to the challenge science fact faces in the politicized fake fact world and is worth the listen. The Atlanta March for Science is an official satellite march organized by volunteers from the state of Georgia. We are committed to supporting the efforts of the Official March for Science movement and providing a platform for your voice to be heard in Georgia. If you cannot make it to the Washington, D.C. march, please consider joining our solidari

What he forgot to say is that many oligarchs prefer the 'order' that comes with dictators; particularly those that favor fascist processes. Why fascist processes? Because power flows with few restraints from the top in fascist organizations. If that happens here, the blood of patriotic Americans, from the revolution through all our conflicts shed defending our freedom and democratic institutions, will have been in vain. pubby

And for a little coincidental contrast, here's sting: pubby PS: If you listened to the video above of O'Reilly; you'll understand the use of Sting in this context.

Your number two scenario is a non starter. China has no intention of invading and occupying Korea if for no other reason, the masses in that country are so brainwashed as to make the Japanese soldier who soldier on not surrendering until 1979 seem like a slacker. Brainwashing from birth makes one a very odd human. Tens of thousands of casualties is very low estimate of what would likely occur because of the in-bred fanaticism of the average north korean. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have 2 billion or more doses of methamphetamine 25 million residents to turn the already brain-w

I do too. I've heard of people impersonating others (SNL's Trump characters for instance) but impersonating a voice as distinctive as Johnny Cash is rare and he did a wonderful job of it. Look at a few other 'clown music videos' and this guy does women too. What really impressed me though is that he didn't claim even the inspiration for the Johnny Cash/pin ball wizard mashup; rather he credited another artist for the idea and the earlier performance. That he appears as a clown seems to obviously imply that he's a modest guy too boot. pubby

Was rousted by dogs who were complaining something was snooping 'round the place and we came upon these two obviously young dogs this morning. These young pups are, in the words of my wife "soo sweet" ... We're withholding sex and 'attire' as a form of identification because there were no obvious tags. They may have Rfid tags and if they are longer term guests, we will have them read but they just showed up about a half-hour ago (about 10:30a 4/12/2017) Bottom line, if someone is looking for them, we have them and they're safe.... which is not a given since we're just off GA61 no

Trump is unpredictable because he changes with the wind. Letting Bannon's influence dominate led Trump, who is incapable of doing the research to truly understand an issue, to begin distrusting bannon's puppet-mastery. The people on your list, at one time or another, were feeding Trump his lines and one, by one, his repeating those lines made him not only appear amazingly inconsistent but stupendously inept. From Trump's point of view, what is happening is the guy thinks of himself as the 'general' and the advisors are the horses that carry him forward. If he gets the idea a horse st

Destroying government as we've known it - bye, bye filibuster
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The problem I have with your observation is that that behavior could also be defined as rewarding the GOP for their intransigence. It is a conundrum that their obstinance for the past eight years is rewarded. Worse than that, they characterize their opponents who seek to compromise as weak willed and inferior because their strong will and superiority is why they are so sure they have the corner on all that is good, true and beautiful. We all know that is absolute BS ... but in the past we'd look as dicks like these folks and send them packing. Hell, in Georgia these days we elect dicks -
Indeed, it does in this full length free movie available right here called "CSA: The Confederate States of America". Really, this is the movie that supposes that the British and French came to the aid of the South at Gettysburg and Lee won that pivotal battle, ultimately resulting in the absorption of the North into the victorious south. Set as a controversial documentary from England that was finally allowed to be played on the airways of the Confederacy, among the more humorous scenes are the advertisements for products from motor oil to cleaning products. It really is an interesti

Destroying government as we've known it - bye, bye filibuster
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes, that was part of the original problem. McConnell orchestrated the filibuster as a regular order of business. In other words he abused it when he was in the minority. That is Mitch McConnell's contribution to the destruction of the Senate and it didn't start today. May he burn in Hell. pubby PS: Let me add that Neil Gorsuch was not worth it and to destroy the Senate for this guy is like going to war to defend a dead archduke in 1914 -
Got the message about 15 minutes ago on my phone. It is recommended that folks stay home and if out, refrain from driving through water which may cover roads. It is nasty out there. pubby
