GLENN RICHARDSON'S EX-WIFE SPEAKS OUT..........FOX 5 NEWS

An aggressive AG could file and indictment on that one or many others that may or may not be good cases. Your assertion that he resign is politics, my belief is he will not. pubby -
GLENN RICHARDSON'S EX-WIFE SPEAKS OUT..........FOX 5 NEWS

Not being one of those who is sensationalizing these things, I'll leave it to you, the Attorney General or the District Attorney to determine if all the elements of a crime exist in that phrase, "I am going to beat your ass." I mean I've said that a few times in jest ... and I think you have to me ... also in jest:) ... I would think that phrase is said often and you really got to like the person making the comment to arrest them on that alone. Sure, the AG or DA could seek an indictment on the basis of those alleged 49 text messages but remember, his vacancy could be temporary and ther -
GLENN RICHARDSON'S EX-WIFE SPEAKS OUT..........FOX 5 NEWS

Dang ... I kind of feel like Alice and this here is some rabbit hole. Unless charges are brought for the actions against Ms. Richardson ... you don't make a report to a reporter and expect the Sheriff to show up with handcuffs ... my reading is that Glenn Richardson will remain Georgia's Speaker. He was elected to the office and as the occupant for a fixed term of office, there are very few options for his removal. That is not to say that there will not be an effort to get him to resign from the post. As far as the revelations of his philandering, I doubt the particulars escaped -
Absolutely. The only real issues involving government are the 'breaks' it gives 'married couples' by providing them tax breaks and, in some other instances, subsidies for children. While government does provide these kinds of benefits (right to coverage under health insurance for spouse and family)and benefits from joint filing - sometimes (remember the marriage tax which simply determined that those families with two incomes paid more in taxes than similarly situated non-married couples). One other right provided married couples is spousal privilege in the giving of testimony ... i.e. t

Because of Georgia's Sodomy laws, there used to be a joke that we are all felons The US Supreme Court, after upholding Georgia's Sodomy law in the mid-1980s (Bowers v. Hardwick 1986), made an about face in Lawrence V. Texas (2003). I'll reproduce the excellent brief by a Duke University (at the time professor) Here is a short CV: The above brief may be confirmed here: http://www.law.duke.edu/publiclaw/supremecourtonline/commentary/lawvtex Liberty is something we all should cherish and is an aspect of limited government. One good way to limit government is to li

Last week to get your Merry Christmas Paulding County video done
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Let me make it clear that you don't HAVE to be a Biz member on pcom to do one of this. It is great if you are and we certainly want everyone who is a business member on the site to participate if they want, but this one is open to any businesses ... even groups ... in the community! In fact, you can shoot your own and if you contact us to let us know, we may be able to use it. pubby -
Paulding.com is offering local businesses a way to give all residents a Happy Holiday shoutout during the parade video. The cost of producing the video is $25.00 and we don't want anyone to miss their opportunity ... but time is running out. Here are a few examples and we've got quite a few booked ... but if you want to participate, we'll get you in if we know by Thursday. pubby

That the new PM system that sends, by email, the full text of the PM instead of just a notice you've got a PM is an improvement in the new board. What a few folks seem to be missing is that when you read that message you STILL need to come to the board to reply. Replying with the email reply sends your message to me, pubby. Two things bother me about this: First, I really don't want to be privy to your PM's. Second, a couple that I've looked at needed to get to the person intended recipient, not me and I've either replied to the OP or sent a PM to the other person. But th

You ought to stop by, for sure. RE: spin proof. Not quite. As I understand this was a refi into a variable rate instrument to an existing homeowner. There has been much litigation regarding refinancing schemes and, considering it was a subprime loan in question, that also raises the question of whether so-called predatory lending may have been in play. ( Great 4.5 percent rate for first two years but language put into the loan allows the lender to peg up to 30 points over prime at their discretion ... oh, don't worry about that (sucker ... Don't say that doesn't happen because many

Good job Taylor: What you ought to do is 'speak' it on video with the game in the background. I'd almost bet you could get it on the Pcom4Teens show. pubby -
Fresh road kill (deer) close to road on 278 just west of EMC
gpatt0n posted a topic in RECENT TOPICS
Coming back from doing some short interviews with the folks camping out for good deals, I noted just west of the stoplight to goes to the EMC, Comcast, etc ... on the other side of the railroad bridge ... a deer was dead with his butt cheeks close to the roadway. Just a heads up to be careful. pubby -
Xangel: There are many reasons for a higher than normal electric bill. One thing that may be making a difference - a big difference - and may be involved in Yorkville is whether they are on a well or county water (I obviously don't know). Assuming they are on a well and have leaky water/plumbing that could be working overtime. Also, about a quarter of the normal electric bill is hot water. If it is an electric hot water heater, the cost of a leaking hot water spigot could be responsible. Also a possible culprit could be outdoor lighting. If they have security lighting and it i

Actually, the initial reason for creating a private business forum was to encourage barter between members. If you are business member and know the password, then you understand that was the effort there. Wanted goods and services is another forum where folks who need their yard done or somesuch can say what they need. The person wanting, say a service, could offer payment in osterich eggs, if they wanted. We have looked at creating a barter exchange on the site but quickly abandoned that because of the time and complexity of doing that, particularly when it appears that many folk

Mommy2two: I have no doubt that if you're starting a local business that you'll join pcom with a business membership so I'm not going to talk about why you should but rather, why you should now. First, the membership gives you a full year license meaning that you can use the site not just to sell whatever goods and services you plan to offer, but allows you to do some potentially valuable market research prior to launching your enterprise. This includes the convening of focus groups which you might pitch as a pre-opening party to which you invite a dozen or so folks that you've se

I got a call from thatboyaintright about his father. His father has been in the hospital for the last two weeks and it look like he won't be coming home. After providing all the treatments, it appears that a combination of a long term illness, age and a more recent infection has effectively left his lungs incapable of aspiration and there is no prognosis for improvement. He's been on a vent for the past two weeks and I understand that will be removed later this evening about six p.m. Obviously this is devastating for tbar and his family and my prayers are with them. It is sad ...

TJB: I'm sure if the source of the depression was centered on the pressures surrounding be the Georgia Speaker, he'd have turned tail and resigned forthwith. From the public discussions, the issues seem to be centered on the sadness surrounding his divorce and other aspects of his domestic life. The political aspects of his life may yet be a source of pleasure despite the assorted pressures. Treatment for depression, including anti-depressant drugs and therapy, seeks to find those areas of one's life that elevate one's mood and depress one's mood. I do suspect that Mr. Richard

Hiram still trails 21-7 although they have the ball, time is the issue with about a minute left. its over. Great season guys. pubby

Sorry... was off line and didn't get an update... Now about 5 minutes left in the game and Rockdale County apparently came out inspired after halftime and now lead the Hornets 21-7. The Hornets do have the ball so all is not lost ... but it doesn't look good for the home team. pubby
-
Rockdale threatened as the first half was coming to an end ... they pushed to the Hornets 27 where they stalled and sought but failed to put three points on the board with a field goal. No go ... Hiram leads at half 7-0 pubby
-
Second quarter has started with Rockdale in possession. The battle is turning into a midfield defensive battle with three downs and a punt ... the big variation being that Rockdale has two turnovers (the fumble that led to the first HIRAM TD) and a pass interception. Maybe a tough game but one thing I've noticed is the comeback calibre of the Hornets. That speaks to conditioning so, while other teams seem to be competitive or even superior in the early going, the superior conditioning seems to come to the fore by the early part of the second half. we'll see but Hiram continues its

Hiram is now in the lead after they recovered a Rockdale county fumble on the Rockdale 20. On the next play or so, I understand, Hiram put it across on a 20 yard run. A penalty on the extra point, put the Hornets back five but without effect. point good. pubby

Here's a story in the National Law Journal that suggests that, at least in some jurisdictions, the shortcuts taken by those writing mortgages in the boom might come back to bite them. That said, my impression is that mortgagors in Georgia are in a better position because the sale contracts in Georgia are written differently than most other states ... and written in such a way as to streamline the foreclosure process. Still, considering the number of folks impacted by foreclosure and the loss of dreams that entails, the idea that some poor sucker somewhere was able to dodge the bullet
