Back in Georgia again.... (just not in Dallas)
gpatt0n replied to OldGoat99's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Navy Eagle: It is always easier to ask forgiveness than permission. As a general rule a scanned and posted image of a newspaper clipping is no different than a full copy and paste of an article. That said, with the pay walls the newspapers are erecting these days I've noticed a lowering of concern regarding enforcement and the infringement of an image/clip would seem to be less likely to be found than a wholesale cut and paste. There is always fair use considerations in play as well and I certainly hope that our society keeps and expands the fair use provision of IP as far as it -

Kim Demark, walking across America to honor America's veterans did so because she was inspired by the Lord who caused a change in her character. Her presence at the meeting was apparently totally unplanned and about as serendipitous as can be. She just happened to be here. Considering what she said about herself, I think she'd have fit in with a lot of the folks at the meeting better before she started her walk. BOC meeting Commission meeting recessed at noon ...
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Here is the video of the exchange. Sorry for the shakiness ... both cameras I was using to record the meeting had run out of power and I had this one as a back up and because it was hand held ... well ... it will deliver shaky video by definition. We will have a better video of the substantive parts of the meeting once it finishes rendering. pubby -
As the clock ticked past ten this morning and only standing room remained, the temperature in the Board Commissioners meeting room forced doors open to aid in cooling. A hot time was apparently expected as a crowd of this dimension tends to want to see some fireworks. While the mix in the room never cooled, the two-hour marathon meeting which recessed at noon, left us - pcom - out of battery and with other obligations and so never seemed to erupt. The meeting began as most county meetings, with some recognitions, including the appearance of a person who is literally running around the cou

So do I Dana: The reason - and I'm not pointing fingers - is that emotions and negativity are contagious ... and politics - local, state and national - are about as negative these days as I've ever seen it. Because negativity is the 'enemy' then countering with positivity is the only way out of this spiral. That said, how we as a community get from here to there is the challenge. I'm all for getting the site back on track and any help would be appreciated. pubby

More than that, the assertion that surepip is a mod is not true... never has been true ... just like LPPT was never a mod. pubby

Bed-wetting liberals like Michelle Bachmann BTW: the newspaper was from Minnesota; the report related came from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The health risks of owning a gun are so established and scientifically non-controvertible that the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a policy statement in 2000. It is not like verifiable scientific information is not routinely ignored by those on the right because it challenges the almost religious-like orthodoxy of the political right. pubby

I'll answer for him - no not everyone. First, few folks have a real 'stars and bars' flag, most of the flags associated with the south and with racism are the St. Andrews Cross (SAC) design that has eleven white stars arranged on a blue field with white trim forming an "X" on a red field. If you took all those folks across the south, you'd have some University of Mississippi football fans that weren't and you'd have Louisianians that are, you'd have Georgian's who kept one of the old state flags and you'd have some South Carolinians who kept a full SAC to make the point... All totaled

You're absolutely right but, by the same token, I've been out in west Paulding and seen those flags along with a few swastikas, people wearing sheets and a few with burr head haircuts and as a centerpiece, which was lighted up with a match at around dusk, were three crosses. I do recall the 'n-word' being banted 'round liberally - not that there was another liberal in that field besides me - and yep, there was that convicted bomber of a black Church in the 60s, JB Stoner, who said he didn't hate blacks - never hated blacks - carrying a sign that said AIDS was Gods punishment of the gays.

HERESY, HERESY, HERESY .... Zorro says something posted on Drudge IS FALSE! (Check the link!) As far as my ancestry, one great grandfather was a capt. in the confederacy (my fathers side and I've seen orders, confederate cash and a write up in the book History of Craighead County) and did want to secede. The other great grandfather I'm told by my mother was a Union officer so I can claim forebears on both sides of that conflict. That her family owned a farm in Yonkers NY in the 1930s would tend to confirm that. pubby

The article in WSBtv.com website interviewed a lady in Atlanta who doubted the Klan was ripe for a come back. Countering that, there was a bit of research reported on Drudge that said: 37 Percent of the Republicans voting in the primary runoff earlier this month would back in the confederacy. I'm sure that the Mississippi of the reconstituted Confederacy would enact a replacement amendment barring discrimination based on race and would ensure the franchise for all people. I have the general idea that what they have in mind is that since slavery can't come back - i.e. the personal

Dang LPPT: I was missing you and been hoping you'd stop by 'cause I need a hug! I knew you were in Tennessee but you usually don't stay this long. I had no idea you were being forced to battle lymes again. I know that knocks you for a loop. Rest, get better, do your daughterly duty and get well. pubby

Guns are among the most prized things to steal as there is a ready 'black market' for the devices. The plain scientific fact regarding guns is that those who have them in the home are at much greater risk of dying as the result of a firearm than those families who do not own or have guns in the home. From the MINNPOST (Minnesota newspaper) which captioned the art with the oped with this alert: The health risks of owning a gun are so established and scientifically non-controvertible that the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a policy statement in 2000 recommending that pediatricians u
