However, it is not at all certain that individuals here aren't or won't be identified and discriminated against for participating in the consumption of information that may challenge or otherwise disturb established interests. pubby

There is an upgrade in the works (already...) but I've got to get the hacker's track out of the system. It is one persistent thing. The garbage at the end of the posts is a new thing ... and transient. Your post will be there. DOn't hit refresh or you'll double post. pubby

I'm seeing these errors as items are posted ... but the posts are actually going trhough. pubby

I might add that securi.com ... the folks that I hired to help me with this a couple of weeks ago, are also on the job and may be running some security stuff that may have this kind of impact. It it transient. pubby

I'm sorry. That error was transient and occurred when I turned off a particular function because I didn't like the look of the files it had created. Turned out to be nothing ... but I turned off the minify system anyway ... That is the reason that you were able to post a minute or two later with no error message. pubby

Thanks for the heads up on this. pubby

Robin Williams - God rest his soul - no alcohol or illegal drugs
gpatt0n replied to Blondiega1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If you've listened to some of the 'cautions' of prescription drugs, especially those prescribed to counter depression, you probably recall that suicide is possible 'side effect.' (*in fact, listening to the side effects makes me think some folks really have to be desperate to take some of those drugs.) pubby -

What you're seeing is the increased competence and ability of the Democrats, whom even Reince Preibus says are ahead of the Republicans in the so-called ground game ... I.e. the identification and engagement of voters. Hence, the ability to remove, within hours of the closing of the early voting polls, of voters who cast votes making so that the best way to avoid robo calls would be to vote on the first day of early voting. But if the Republicans, if they're using out dated lists, printed lists, and the like don't have that information ... well they'll just throw the money and effort at p

free food Paulding Democrats to rally on Saturday at pcom office

I did get some figures on turnout and the Democrats in Paulding turned out in greater numbers in early voting than they did in 2012 ... which bodes well. In overall numbers, though the leaning and strong Republicans were also turning out in greater numbers than in 2012 and I heard, overall, some 15,000 votes have already been cast, which is also greater than 2012. Percentage-wise Democrats were up 2.7 percent whereas GOP turnout in early voting was up 2 percent. Of course the big races for Senator and Governor are such that it may be more important how GOP voters actually cast their ball -
I actually was impressed with the response we got to the questions asked. Ms. Shipp seems quite the policy wonk and frankly, I had no idea that the state was dropping the ball on as many different jobs programs as she intimated. Given Georgia's high unemployment and the fact the state just turns up their noses at the benefits seems to fit the narrative I'm piecing together ... i.e. that when Republicans offer us 'smaller government' as candidates, as office holders they use that as an excuse to not work ... because, well working is government, less government is now defined as not working

What? Actions speak louder than words: To wit: JC (Jimmy Carter) put solar panels on the White House and RR took them down Democrats passed the Lilly Ledbetter act and the GOP opposed it. The GOP dominated SCOTUS said that racism was over and the GOP enacted ID laws that amount to poll taxes. The GOP put on the ballots in 2004 state constitutional amendments defining marriage as between a man and a woman to help get out the conservative Christian vote despite the fact that even the conservative courts recognize that these laws are anathema to equal protection of the laws. Those an

Not PCOM. If PCOM were the official arm of the Paulding Democrat Party, you wouldn't be posting your typical misinformation like you do and did ... ( Nov. 11 assertion is typical but provably false.) pubby CC: Good one ... I was going to claim 'lighting problems' ... the firelight from the three burning crosses in Lanzo's field was just not bright enough Actually, I heard the GOP was doing volunteer calling for candidates out of the C of C although I don't know that for a fact. pubby

Nope ... Had I had earlier access to the database, I'd have had the ability to do some polls (I actually had a polling company in the 1980s) but at the time that I got involved, it was time to run the ground game and see if we can score. pubby -
That is because, from the get go and for as long as I can remember, the Democratic party was not some monolithic group where everyone goosesteps around the square stepping in unison, speaking in unison and voting in unison like the GOP. Will Rogers ... had a statement about his allegiance to the Democratic party ... he said: I don't belong to any organized political party, I'm a democrat. It is as true today as it was then. And frankly, I think many of the candidates resent it when the GOP, which is so, so ... so regimented and disciplined ... tries to lay the same level of di

Both parties have interactive voter lists that are updated daily during early voting. Additional information is there as well including party tendencies. A lot of folks in Paulding are or were identified as leaning Republican because of various elements of their voting history, including age, sex, participation in the Republican Primary... which if you know how things work in a one-party county political structure, doesn't make much sense. (I checked my record and it had me leaning Republican because I voted in the Republican primaries. I corrected the record but learned something about

free food Paulding Democrats to rally on Saturday at pcom office
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Yes, this wasn't posted until 1 p.m. on Friday because the committee did wonder, given the forecast for Saturday, whether we should cancel. It was the first really cold day - 45-50 degree weather and 40mph winds and rain earlier in the morning. Bottom line, Saturday was not the most pleasant day to be out and about. Inside, the office was packed and there wasn't much room for anyone else. Oh, and lest I forget, we were still getting the Google red page of death because of the hack done earlier in the week which means last week was the worst week ever in terms of audience in the past -

Three things.First, the internet is not a newspaper. In that regard, just as I don't release your name, I don't always present the names of individuals pictured as it may be an invasion of privacy. In this particular case, given the vitriol you and others on the right have lobbed toward 'democratic chairman' I chose not to identify the individuals (I mean I believe you were among those denying his existence publicly.) Second, I never, ever studied or knew who the hell Saul Alinsky is or was and my only knowledge of the guy comes from yet more vitriol spewed with ample hate from the right towa -
Paulding's Democrats gathered for a rally Saturday at their headquarters and were pumped in their hopes for victory by Labor commission candidate Robbin Shipp, who stopped by the event. Ms. Shipp laid the state's nation-leading and utterly dismal unemployment rate on failures by the Republican hierarchy under the gold dome. Citing untold millions, even billions of federal dollars in employment assistance and healthcare that were just ignored by the states' Republican leadership, Ms. Shipp predicted Georgians would choose Democrats on Tuesday and return the state to the path of progre

That wasn't the turnout dummy ... That was taken shortly after 11 as the staff was getting ready. We had 50 or more people stop by over the course of the afternoon in addition to staff and candidates. Dogs, you're so negative people wonder if your wife beats you. pubby PS: I'm not saying your wife beats you. I'm sure she's a wonderful person ... What I'm saying is for me to be as negative and narrow as you, my wife would have to have beaten me daily for 30+ years for me to be that sour a soul. -
