  1. Getting my Rogaine pills and Viagra mixed up. I had hair growing real thick, but Lord, it was way too stiff to comb.
  2. Parents bring these children into this world, and raise them based on their own standards/morals/beliefs. Some children end up recognizing the deficiencies in their family life and determine to make things better for themselves. A lot of kids leave home at 18 thinking their parents are the stupidest people on earth, only to realize maybe 10 years later that their parents were actually pretty smart. Some people learn from their mistakes, some don't. I don't believe anyone is saying that this tragedy is the fault of the parents. But many parents will recognize, after seeing their child gro
  3. Things were different back when we were growing up. When we went to school, we stood to recite the pledge of allegiance and sometimes someone brought a devotional. It was a different culture then, we were a God fearing nation. But seeing how our government screws up everything they do these days, I definitely wouldn't want the governement putting religion back into our schools as they would probably put the wrong religion in. What we need today are good parents, who discipline and raise their children to be upstanding and productive individuals, with proper morals. When the gunm
  4. As an experiment, we did. Those in Colorado think they'll probably safer now that the police will search them before going into a theater. However, this gunman didn't bring his weapons in through the front door. He went out an Exit and came back into that Exit door after arming himself. So let's see something done about Exits. Video surveillance would be a good start.
  5. Our return uses a 22 x 22 filter. The unit is mounted inside a closet in the hallway with a door with louvers. That is a typical installation in a lot of homes. What people don't realize is that the louvers only have a small opening. Ours had an opening of 1/4" times 30 louvers. It was equal to a 7 1/2" x 18" opening. Talk about restricting air flow!
  6. Something that the "The Chief Author of our Declaration of Independence" said carries any more weight than what the Word of God says to those who have the Holy Spirit living within them. To fully understand the Word of God, you have to "know" its author.
  7. So when someone doesn't agree with your views, they're a bigot. Thanks for clearing that up.
  8. Sam's was $3.20 in Panama City this morning. I remember when gas prices always used to be 20 cents higher in Florida than GA...
  9. I truly think that the desensitization of a generation of young people to violence does increase the odds of certain individuals who may not be 'wired just right' to act out their fantasies. A lot of people are able to separate fiction from reality. I know people who can watch blood and gore on TV who will faint at the sight of real blood coming from another person. Culture changes. People change. Maybe we're evolving into a perfect storm where this generation has trouble separating fact from fiction, has trouble having verbal conversation with other people, and believes they are entitled to c
  10. I heard one of the reporters talking about how Hollywood isn't responsible for any of the violence or this particular tragedy. I guess the gunman called himself the Joker - meaning the playing card. No, not anything to do with the movie. There was another study done on the amount of violence in movies, TV and especially in Video Games. This level of violence has desensitize an entire generation of young people who will commit acts like these and not feel any remorse.
  11. Low humidity levels can also cause your nice furniture to crack. I don't think it affects particle board much though...
  12. Talking about filters, people do tend not to change them when they are dirty. But I've heard from some A/C service techs that unless you've got allergies, do not use those high priced filters. He said the 'rock stopper' - those cheap ones - filters are adequate for keeping particles out of the system that could damage it. Those filters don't get as dirty, or clog and are safer for your system. When you stop air flow you not only make the system work harder, you shorten its life. I've always heard that the cheap filters were a waste of time. I guess it depends on who you talk to...
  13. What gets me is the knee-jerk reaction by police. So what are they going to do at theaters? Start searching everyone's belongings. Freedom gone? Sure! So they're searching people's bags and purses going into theaters. How did the gunman bring all those weapons into the theater? Through the exit door and out to his car he parked right outside of it. If the police were serious about security, they would be watching exits and making sure doors aren't being propped open. The police are just exercising "grand standing' - like the TSA - in an effort to make the public 'feel' violated safe, not that
  14. Could be a lot of different things, ranging from low freon to blown electronics.

  16. It makes you wonder if the Hiram police would treat a non-advertiser (re: non-commerce member) the same as an advertising member, uh taxpayer...
  17. Maybe they should be excused from the gene pool as well....
  18. I agree as well. Why should someone who makes $10,000 a year have as much say (e.g. a vote) in a Multi-Trillion dollar government as one who makes $100,000 a year? The US is actually a federal republic, governed by a representative democracy, in which the states play a crucial role. But I think the point of where the majority getting to the point where they vote for the candidate or party that promises them the most benefits or handouts, would apply to our form of government as well. In many contests, people who are employed by any of the sponsoring companies are not allowed to partici
  19. Everyone, but a jury, has tried and convicted Zimmerman. Just hope that if you are ever in a similar situation that someone believes you are innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law.
  20. Rising gas prices? Rising food prices? Rising transportation costs causing even higher food prices? A Perfect Storm before the November election?
  21. It's a cultural thing. We saw similar situations when we were in Dubai. They do conserve on electricity by not cooling anything much more than they have to. They don't shower that often and don't use any deodorants or colognes. Don't take a long elevator ride with them unless you can hold your breath a long time. Even though many Middle Easterners have migrated over here, they hang on to a lot of their customs and habits. It's not racist. It's just the way they live their lives over there. As some people on here would say, they were born that way.

  23. With both of them retiring we won't have any more moments like this...
