I went to Chick-fil-A for lunch today around 1:30 PM. The boycott must be working. The place was PACKED!

My link The Westboro Baptist Church had recently announced that it would be holding one of its protests outside the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in DuPont, Washington. But last Friday, the controversial group was met with a far larger group of counterprotesters—dressed as zombies. I have decided that the most violent free way to protest back is simple... a zombie apocalypse. The event page received such a positive response that the zombies outnumbered the protestors by a reported level of 300 to 8, the News Tribune reported.

Actually no. There was a county police car parked 3 doors down and a Polk county police care parked 4 doors down on the other side of the street, and we had one of the worst crime sprees in a long time in our neighborhood that occurred for several months. My home, in fact, was broken into in the middle of the day with both police vehicles just down the street parked in the driveways. These proved to be no deterrent whatsoever.

Then I guess you are opposed to the mayor of Boston saying that Chick-Fil-A is not welcomed in their city. ZC trying to discuss christians issues is like ZC trying to discuss the inner feelings of a black man.

Restaurant servers Not being paid hourly rate

To tip or not to tip. Restaurant server is the only profession I know where the individual is paid less than the minimum wage due to receiving tips that are supposed to give them at least the required minimum wage when all tips are considered. I believe most other places where you might tip (hair dresser, mail deliverer, hotal maid, etc), it is optional, and the individual receiving that tip is already receiving a minimum wage. I believe it would be better if we started incorporating a new standard in the US where restaurant owners paid their employees a the minimum wage and stated so some -

Yeah, my cousin used to work at Red Lobster in Albany, GA and at that time they had to pool their tips. It's more like share the wealth - it doesn't work. Those that work hard get the same as those who are lazy. After a while, the hard workers don't work as hard and everyone gets less. It continues until the business fails. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a restaurant that was still practicing that... -
From the reports I heard, he had left his stereo blaring in his apartment with hopes that someone would bang on his door and then try to gain access when he didn't answer. I think he was bragging to police about his booby-trapped apartment with the hopes that they would find a lot of dead people there.

The package had arrived several days before the attack.

Do most restaurants let the servers keep their tips now? I remember when some restaurants required servers to pool their tips and then were divided equally (not at all fair). -
According to recent updates, gun sales are really up in Colordao. Apparently, people are not going to let themselves be put in an unarmed situation again.

Lots of countries have laws against hate speech. Our society has stooped to such a low level that it may be getting to the point in this country that we need to be considering establishing some basic laws prohibiting hate speech. We already have laws for hate crimes, and these actions come awful close to that at times. -
Nah, he was just bragging. When he left his stereo blaring in his apartment he was hoping that someone who have gained entry when he didn't come to the door. He wanted the police to see more dead bodies there. As far as sending out the package, you have to remember this is a smart guy, he was working for his PhD. I figure he did it to bolster his defense in court.

From what I heard was, he had left his stereo blaring in his apartment in hopes someone would complain and get someone to let them in when he didn't come to the door. He told the police about his apartment being booby trapped because he thought they would find more dead bodies there. Apparently no one attempted to gain entry to his apartment before the police tried to enter from the outside window. I think he was proud of what he had done (both at the theater and at his apartment - thinking people were dead there) and wasn't looking to be killed by cop. However, based on what the inmates are s

I guess they couldn't find Lalo Schifrin to play the Medical Center theme song.

Apparently the professor wasn't on summer vacation... "...said Police and FBI agents were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora on Monday morning after the psychiatrist, who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect." Kind of reminds me of someone calling the Suicide Help Line and being placed on hold...

So now they're reporting that the man accused of Friday's movie theater massacre in Colorado mailed a notebook "full of details about how he was going to kill people" to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack. The package allegedly from the suspected shooter, 24-year-old James Eagan Holmes, remained unopened in a mailroom for as long as a week before its discovery Monday. "Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people. There were drawings of what he was going to do in it - drawings and illustrations of the massacre." So I guess he

Other laws... A politician may only run for ONE re-election. A politician and political parties, PACS, etc. are prohibited, subject to hefty fines, from running negative ads. Incumbents and candidates must run on their record and vision alone.

Why not? Jackasses are allowed to roam around under Atlanta's gold dome unsupervised...

As far as other laws I would pass: The President can only serve one term of 6 years - no more running for re-election during his/her term in office. The Senate can only serve two 6 year terms - 12 years of public service and then back to public life - no more pensions or free benefits. The House can only serve two 4 year terms - 8 years is enough and then back to public life - no pensions or free benefits. Do your time in public service and then go back to whatever your career was - no more career politicians.

As far as the death penalty, I believe a lot of people are for it for those criminals who have committed such horrendous crimes against man and society that they no longer deserve to live. Remember, prison life is not all that uncomfortable anymore. They have so much freedom to do things there that no one ever imagines they would be able to do. Prison is no longer a deterrence to commit a crime. The death penalty came close to being that deterrent. However, with the outrageous cost that a death penalty trial can place on the state/county economy a charge of "Life without Parole" achieves

It's not a safety thing. It's always about revenue. Follow the money. The county doesn't want cab services coming into the area because the county will make more money in DUIs, driving courses, fines and the like. Another example, if it was really the purpose of the police to keep people from speeding then why do they get made when you warn other drivers that there's a cop ahead by flashing your lights? Because it's not about safety, it's about money! Apples and oranges.

At least there would be fewer auto accidents. Stoners driving at 40 in a 55, "I'm going way too fast, man!" I would make Halloween observed on the closest Saturday night to October 31.
