Thanks you'se guys. We won't have access to a car but I would really like to do the garden district. I went there years ago (business trip) and I really enjoyed the fact that it was such a great walking town BUT amazingly filthy in the quarter.

I can see how you came to think that. You do have to be aware in that town. We were thinking about eating really good casual food, doing some of the tours and a little bit of gambling. Why did you hate it so much?

So, planning a trip to NO and I'm looking for ideas on what to do. I understand that the graveyard tour is a must. What else? TIA

I wonder how many parents of these kids will come on the board complaining that "the system" is not being fair to their kid. If you think that letting the system teach your kid a lesson is a good idea, you may want to reconsider that position. Spend the money now or you will be spending the money later when your kid is having a hard time finding a job. What were these kids doing out at that time of the morning? I love coots lake. Its a nice family place, clean but not fancy just well taken care of. The only thing that bothers me is when you go in the water, it's warm.....I look at all the kids around me and the water gets just a tad bit warmer. Hope you know what I mean.

I think that a benefit of visiting that part of the country in the summer is that while it gets hot, it doesn't get the crazy hot like south Florida. Also, the nights are a relief.

Why don't you give Marthas Vineyard a try? I hear it is a dream come true.

Guard dad, I am more than sure that you are a fine person and that you have your life in good order BUT when you post with the intent of advising the owner of this board how he should run his board and how he should moderate his board, well I get a bit embarrassed for you. Bad form. Really bad form. Hopefully, you will see this as a helpful suggestion.

Take about 10 cloves of garlic and put them in about 1/2 inch of olive oil. Cook gently until the garlic turns the color of toast then take the garlic out to let drain on paper towels. Beat an egg, take some italian bread crumbs and spread them on a plate. Dip the chop in the egg, dredge in the bread crumbs and put in the olive oil. Cook gently till done. Egg. Noodles and spinach with the garlic cloves. Hope the chop are bone in.

Just got back, Holly Springs, proctor road and pleasant grove ok. Storm went through 101 in the area between the old and new Scotts. Didn't want to go by southern trace cause I would be in the way. Big trees down where we drove thru. Kinda scary, you have these little tiny houses with all these big trees real close. You know those folks had to be terrified. Hope everyone is ok. We had no damage! It was close but somehow we dodged the bullet this time.

Really bad here in Yorkville. Don't even think about coming out this way. No power. Gonna be a long scary night. For once, glad for the iPad. Be safe everyone.
