Perhaps there is a genetic predisposition, but there is still that point where you have to make a decision to become a junkie. It's like the decision to become obese. I'm not sure when it happens, but at some point people make the decisions to say, "you know, I think I'm going to have 2 #3's today." I will acknowledge that once a person is down - for instance, you stayed up all night doing blow and lost your job - making the right choices becomes harder.

Drugs are fun. Humans like to alter their state of feeling. Remember being a kid and spinning around in a circle until you got dizzy and fell down? They have been around forever, and they'll be around forever, but there is no such thing as an "addictive personality". Anyone that does recreational drugs reached a point where they either decide they have too much to lose, or they have nothing to lose.

This happened in 1990. I'm not sure what they laws were then or if there was a sexual offenders list. Part of the problem is that I don't have HIS last name. I have tried to get it from the FL courts, but they said because it was so long ago, I have to go down to get the records. Oh, and I have him to THANK for my bravery. I always chuckle when my husband tells me to "be careful". I remind him that I've already been the victim of violent crime and an attempted murder - lightening doesn't strike twice very often!

I'm one of many stories. The interesting part is that I've recently been very intrigued about what this guy got up to in his life. Because of my mother's reluctance to put me through anymore (which was really just her not wanting to go through anymore), she refused to let me testify. They copped a quick plea of aggravated assault and he got 18 months. I have tried to find his name (I have some memory loss from the trauma and my mother never told me the details) so that I can find him, but the police say that I have to travel to the clerk's office to get it (in FL). When I was 12, a man broke into our home whilst my mother was at work and brutally raped and strangled me, leaving me for dead. I didn't talk about it for years. I spend my teenage years somewhat troubled, but always knowing that my life must have some great purpose if God spared me. Since then, and in spite of myself, I've never been scared of anything. I cannot understand why Paulding would oppose the airport. Paulding has NOTHING. ZERO, zilch, nadda. The only thing growing in Paulding is the meth addiction and trailer parks. The best restaurant is Applebees and the biggest employer is Walmart. Y'all could parlay this change into the chance to actually make some income on the sale of your houses and move someplace that is still a charming small town, unlike what Paulding has morphed into.

You're right. We've been disappointed every step of the way with public school - even though my son has always had As or B's. Though we moved to the area in hopes that we would be able to take advantage of the public school system, the area does boast some wonderful private schools as well. This is Crabapple Middle School in Roswell.

It was mentioned. It also referenced was a page for the event that they could "like". ETA: One other thing to note…there are prizes for top fundraisers. If only a third of the school is able to have a FB by the T&Cs, that unfairly stacks the deck, IMO.

The fundraiser is fine…but encouraging kids to use Facebook bothers me. My son can't have FB until he's 16. I'm already a terrible mother, this doesn't help.

I got a note from my son's middle school today announcing their fundraiser for cancer. It had the flyer attached that's been posted at school. On it, it instructs children about how they can fundraise on their Facebook page. My son (6th grade) isn't allowed to have Facebook…am I missing something, or are middle schoolers allowed on Facebook?

Thanks for the advice. She gets up 2-3 times a night. She takes 2 naps during the day from 1 to 1.5 hours each. She is on table foods and has been for a month now. She's not hungry, that I'm certain. We have a noise machine. We do lavendar wash and lavender baby massage every night. We did do something a little different on Friday and she slept from 7:30 to 6:30!!! We kept our door open (our master is next to her and it has double doors so it's quite a bit of exposure, and we left her door open and we left our TV on all night. I'm wondering if it's separation anxiety. S

My 10 month old will not sleep. She goes down at 7:30am and she's up every 2 hours. She's never slept through the night, but she used to only wake once. Please help. I can't do CIO, but anything else?
