  2. Totally understand. With the kids, though, it's our annual tradition of going to pick it out and bring it home. I'm sure when the kids are older, we may change our minds.
  3. I'm not a fan of fake trees, but I must admit that one is really nice!!
  4. Fulton school are becoming a charter system. As such, each school must elect a governing body to work with the schools, school system, parents and kids to drive success. Similar to a steering committee or a PTA with power. This is the candidate statement from a person that actually made the ballot. I’m passionate to protect academic environments frm disconnected reasoning & 1size fits all governance. I’m energized for youth dvlpmnt academically, emotionally, athletically & spiritually in prgrms by passionate & diverse educators; settings of teachers, parents, leaders & stud
  5. Thanks, LPPT. I did get a recommendation for one in my area. I used biofreeze 2 nights ago. I don't know why, but it KILLED me. I woke up a couple hours after applying it to get my daughter. When i got out of bed I nearly collapsed, the pain was horrendous. I'm not sure if I isolated the area or something... I usually LOVE biofreeze, but for some reason it was harsh to me!
  6. This is so true. If you CAN, please consider CASA or fostering. Or respite care. Or just volunteering at a shelter.
  7. My ortho gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers and I'm using a TENS machine. I'm not in that much pain given all of this, but of course it's not a long term solution. Since the shot is $1000, I'm going to have to discuss what options I have, since I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on things that might work...oh, and I already got a steroid shot when this all started (in the hip). I'm hoping that I might be able to just deal with it, since next year I"m going to a HSA, which is at least pre-tax. I do have one option and that is to go back on the steroid pack. It makes me really m
  8. Nope. It really is just insurance for any major medical problems...because anything more than a GP treating your sniffles and less than cancer comes out of pocket. Sigh. I guess we'll see what the MRI shows and decide from there.
  9. I need someone to help me understand this. I saw a specialist who said I likely have a herniated disk. He ordered an MRI and he said that, once confirmed, it's likely that I'll get the shot. The MRI place called today to tell me it will be $425, since I've not met my deductible. OK. I then got to thinking, that probably means that the shot will be out of pocket too. I called my insurance company and verified that yes, it will likely be out of pocket. Good news is that all of this should take care of my $4000 deductible. Here's my question...is there any reason why I shouldn
  10. And clearly you wasted no time becoming a cantankerous old bastard. I guess poor people should only be allowed to sit in the house and think about their poverty. Whatever they do, $8 on an enjoyable afternoon in the stands is out of the question!
  11. You said that if you don't have a car you have no business going to a braves game. Please let me know if I misunderstood. If I'm accurate, I stand firm that you made a very ignorant statement.
  12. I agree!!! I have one. It's just the Tiffany bracelet, but the charms are from all kinds of great events, I have Big Ben, a pair of feet for an angel baby that we lost before Addie, a cross that my son got for me and a pair of hearts that my husband and I got in Vegas when we got married. I also have a gullah basket that I need to have put on. I LOVE IT!
  13. I'm going to the chiro later today. Hubs is going to let me have a nice, hot bath...and my doctor was nice enough to get my MRI pushed up to tomorrow!
  14. I'm really starting to get concerned... my annoying pain is getting worse and I have sharp pains in both my butt cheeks, like someone is stabbing them. I'm going to the ortho this afternoon, but I'm starting to freak a bit...
  15. I don't care for Pandora either, but I did ask for a Tiffany somerset bangle....
  16. Venture Capitalist. I prefer Angel Investors. Sorry, sometimes I go all business and stuff.
  17. You should bill yourself as the VC that you are... I will give to you, but you must spend it as I see fit. If that's a Braves game, you're out! You're missing the true gift that is giving. ETA: Hopefully this will finally get MARTA to Cobb county!
  18. I don't think so, but that didn't help I'm sure. I really think it's a disk issue. Well, I think it is... I'm not overly concerned about the pain. I get my MRI Friday and then back to the doctor on Wednesday, so it's just a week that I have to suck it up. It hurts, but that's life. I've gotten it to a dull roar, if that makes sense.
  19. Thanks for your obligatory nod. I think you missed what I said, I didn't do it because I didn't WANT to pay for parking, I did it because I couldn't AFFORD to pay for parking. That doesn't mean that I don't DESERVE a nice day out with my boy. Compassion for the poor is what makes people truly rich.
  20. There's the CCT depot in Cumberland, but that's not a mass in and out. Closest rail is by St. Joseph.
  21. This is the only thing that gives me pause. Cobb is NOTORIOUS for their DUI practices. I don't condone drinking and driving, but I also don't want to see Cobb's finest getting their rocks off on Braves players...or setting up roadblocks that only add to the congestion. Honestly, if they don't put in public transport, I'd have to kin that to entrapment.
  22. Not at all. I was just using that as a "problem". About 6 years ago, I had a very similar "flair" and I went and had an MRI done. They told me that I had a degenerative disc, but it wasn't far gone enough to require anything but rest and an order of pain pills. He said it's a matter of time until it gives me trouble again, but eventually it will. I assumed that now is that time. I'll know after my MRI. Maybe.
  23. I don't want to do the medicinal route - it's too much hassle. I did find that the muscle relaxers helped. I could only take them at night as they put me right to sleep, but I would wake up and feel pretty good until 2 or 3.
