  1. I don't watch Colbert or Stewart or Mahr… But this, this is some funny stuff.
  2. Nope. Why, do power lines cause wacky things to happen?
  3. Sounds like pipes banging in our master bath. I forgot about this one odd thing that happened the night before we found out Shez died (they're 5 hours ahead, she passed in the early morning)…at 1am, our alarm company called and said they had an alarm triggered, but they didn't have a door or window (they can usually tell you where the intrusion was). Hubby got up and looked around but we chalked it up to a false alarm or problem on the alarm company's end…. That's probably just coincidence. But it's odd. And with all of these odd things happening, I don't feel frightened and I'm a wimp.
  4. I always give if I have it. Giving isn't about what people do with it, it's about giving because that's what my Bible tells me to do. There have been exceptions, and I won't be fooled. I'll never forget someone on here crying about an uncle passing away. I gave her a plane ticket - and then she posted about her BF driving up the next day. I've never given on pcom again. And never will. Sad really, a bad apple and all...
  5. I'm working from home…someone suggest a movie to watch. I have a million choices on PPV and I can't decide!
  6. I agree. And he house was built in 1995, one owner, no bad ju ju…hence why I think it might be my SIL. I'm ready to bring in a medium!!!
  7. MrsB, my delicate little flower - are you trying to become invisible? I really want to go to lunch again, but you, CE and FBBC are all looking SMOKING - and I'm looking like the Michilan Man. Bitches. You are not my friends AT ALL. PS - Jax is RIDICULOUSLY adorable. Thank you for the Christmas card.
  8. That seems like a lot of work, LPPT!! Didn't you see the part about not having much time?! I'll try it, but I need some recipes that will satisfy the husband, too
  9. There's banging now. We paid too much if this house is haunted.
  10. Thanks everyone! I was a veggie for a couple of years, but I had A LOT more time then, and frankly, it's a lot of work. But, it works well for me to drop pounds pretty quickly. I treat starches like meats! And thank you for the compliments gogators - you're sweet, but the pics are just at good angles! 20lbs…by end of March. Anyone want to take the challenge with me?
  11. I'm sticking to just earning my own way. Thank GOD that I've been blessed with a great career. My ex gave me a lot - diamonds, furs, cars, vacations, but the one thing that he gave me that was so much greater than all of that was the support, and coaching, to be able to advance my career. He really was a mentor, and as his partner, I was along for a wild ride of powerful people. I learned when to shut up, when to speak, what to say and do. He taught me how to get what I want in the business world. I remember when I realized how far I'd come…I was sitting in Italy overlooking the
  12. I know some of you on here do that paranormal stuff…what do you think? So, his wife passed away 3 weeks ago yesterday. We had 9 lightbulbs go out in the house that week. We had a couple events where I swore I turned off lights, but they were on. Then, a kitten randomly shows up at our house about the time of her funeral. The cat wouldn't come near me. Then, last night, I put my hand down and called it, as I had a million times before, but this time I called it 'Shez', his wife's nickname. The cat came right to me. There's some stuff going on with his brother right now and I think
  13. Alright. I've gotta lose some weight. I'm going to have to buy 2 seats on a plane at the rate I'm going!!!!. I have to drop at least 20lbs by the end of March for spring break vacation. To accomplish this, I think I'm going to go back to a vegetarian diet. Anyone have good recipes? Easy though, because I have a very busy schedule, so I can't spend the day searching for exotic ingredients or slaving over a stove.
  14. You're right, but I think it's important to note that my ex was also a good man, and a great father, he just happened to have a lot of money. My priorities are no different today then they were with him - so please don't confuse our break up for some moral epiphany. It was a relationship - and a break up - that had nothing to do with money, his or mine.
  15. I would be lying if I said that is was easy to readjust to life in the real world, but then I read this somewhere. "Some people are so poor, all they have is money" I know that I know that I know one thing fo' sho'….contentment can't be purchased and purchases can't bring contentment.
  16. No doubt. But it was a lot of fun! Wouldn't change the experience for the world! and thank you for the compliment on hubs. He's a lot of work, but I love that man to pieces.
  17. Welcome to the welfare state. A society of entitlement.
  18. That's the one. It was Bora Bora, he gave me a BMW and the house we were going to buy was $1.7M… If you're taking notes, at least get them right. That's true. I've never paid cash for anything, so I'll let you know what happens if I ever do.
  19. I'm not knocking you - if this works for you, that's great. But, financing isn't all bad. For instance, I financed my Explorer when they had a 0% interest deal. Now, I didn't have $34K in cash, but if I did, why in the world would I pay cash? That money can work for me, instead of Ford, and I'm not out of pocket anything. I've done similar with furniture. It just doesn't make any sense to give up your cash, when someone will let you borrow theirs for free.
  20. My ex made $3M a year, and he drove an old Buick for 13 years. He finally traded it in to buy a brand new BMW 3 series, which is not a flashy car by most standards (certainly not for a multi-millionaire). He said that he didn't want his employees to see him as flashy or unapproachable. The year before our split, he splurged on a $100K Merc, but he still drove the BMW to the office.
  21. Economists on both sides are predicting bad, bad things from this catastrophic coverage. Heathcare coverage is a benefits, benefits are used by companies to attract top talent. So, you say it's a bad idea…I say you must not be very good at what you do
  22. I guess you that are on the exchange are self employed? My coverage hasn't changed…and my employer pays 90%.
  23. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/roswell-police-searching-missing-4-year-old/ncQM5/ Police: Bodies of child, adult male found in search for missing boy He beats his wife to near death and then kills himself and his son. Tragic, and in my backyard. I am so sad for this. SO sad.
