  1. The Challenger- I watched the smoke trail, and when I seen it split I knew that something had gone terribly wrong. 9/11- First it's my birthday, second how dare they attack our country, third my oldest son was in the Marines at the time, and I knew he would be sent to get the bastards. These are the two things that are my what was you doing, when it happened events. Regan, dieing- My thoughts were with his family as with anyone who dies. After all dieing is a part of life. John Lennon- Meh, Princess Diana- I was sad for the boys.
  2. I'll put our in the fridge on Monday. It's about 14lbs, so it should thaw by Wednesday.
  3. You know, I really wonder about people who think that folks have these weapons because of fear. Don't you just want to pat them on the head, and say "silly child, some people actually enjoy shooting. After all it is an Olympic sport. Some people like to collect weapons. There are some really cool ones out there. Seriously you poor thing, thinking everyone has a weapon out of fear."
  4. he is a cutie, and the cake is awesome.
  5. CCPD isn't known for common sense. After all when a 12 yr old is hit by a car, and the driver (17yr old) wants to leave (and is allowed to leave) because she has soccer practice, I'd say they're not the sharpest tools in the shed. Yes, the 12yr old was hurt. Her front teeth were knocked out. I do know a couple of CCP that do have some common sense.
  6. So, that's why Snow started talking about wanting another baby.
  7. See I don't understand that mindset. My kids have been known to work two jobs to get "things" they want. Truthfully I think if you buy into the whole rich V poor crap, then you are a sad person. Not You, but other general yous. We also give, but I truly believe that charity begins at home, so our giving goes to veterans groups, and some children's charities. You know, when you think about it, when did folks stop taking care of each other? When did the Church (any denomination) groups get pushed out? After all before the gooberment stepped in who took care of the old people? Who took care
  8. I find that funny? Or, is it ironic? I grew up in West Palm Beach, the island of Palm Beach is just across the intercoastal. I find it interesting that all of my neighbors, and friends growing up knew that this very rich lifestyle was just 10mins away, and we understood if you want the lifestyle you have to work for it. It's called parenting, and not teaching your kids to be envious, but to strive to get to that point. We were also taught that on the way up don't forget to help out folks along the way.Of course I do tend to look down on the "reality" stars, new money people can be so gauche.
  9. Appaerntly it is also called "polar bear" hunting. Seems like the targets have been white people, male, female, and even children. If they happen to be Jewish all the better.
  10. I don't know that he "rushed" her. From the video I seen it looked like she was in his way, and when he came through he ran into her. She did stumble, but he helped her stay on her feet, at that point she placed her hands on his chest, as if in a calming gesture. Even the Canadian press will twist the way things happened.
  11. You might be correct. But, most of the time his "topics" are so confusing who knows what he's talking about. I used a addict as an example, one could change the drug part to any kind of addict. As far as gossip men folk tend to do that a lot.
  12. Just because someone can empathize, doesn't mean that you should enable the behavior of the one you are empathizing with. Just beacause you can empthize with a drug addict doesn't mean you can't tell them straight up they are in the wrong. The same can be said about folks who want to whine about "low wage" jobs. Those of us who can empathize are vilified when we say get an education, work till you get the skills to get a higher paying job. If one has been on gooberment assistance, and worked their way out, they can empathize with those that are on it now. However it doesn't mean that

  14. Not even going to try the math. But it says since 2001. There have been numerous hurricanes, tornadoes and floods between 01, and now. I imagine that the numbers include any help given because of these disasters.
  15. “That store has set up a bin for associates to help out other associates,” he told Yahoo Finance. “These are people that have had some unforeseen hardship in the last year. Maybe their spouse lost a job, or they experienced the death of a loved one, or a natural disaster impacted their home; things you just can’t plan for. It’s a chance for associates to look out for and help each other.” The bins are kept in the employee break room, Lundberg says, adding that he is not aware of similar collections at other locations as these drives are done on a store-by-store basis. But the company d
  16. I do my best to not block the aisle.I have also been known to speak in my "mom" voice "excuse me I need to get by." Sometimes you just got to be a lot bossy.

    Why

And, that is why it was changed to the card instead of the paper vouchers. Nobody wanted anyone to be uncomfortable about being on food stamps. You see a little bit of being uncomfortable might lead to doing something to get off of food stamps, and taking care of your self.

    Why

There was a time when owning a car (no matter the age) or a computer (even if it were a gift) would disqualify you for any help. Why? You could sell some of your things to get money to feed your kids. You also couldn't get help if you were homeless. Why? because you didn't have an address. And, it didn't matter if you had kids or not. Far too many people can't get help, for whatever reason, I know families that work their butts off, barley making enough to pay the bills, and have been told if the husband/father leaves then they can get help. I also know old folks 70+ who can get a whole 28
  19. I've seen one many moons ago. It was a beautiful sight.
  20. Well here is the way to do this, and everybody gets health coverage. 1. Let the gooberment decide which kid is going to be a Doctor, (of any kind) and all other healthcare related professions. 2. These folks don't get have to pay for their education. 3. All hospitals, clinics are run by the gooberment. 4. No one is ever charged for anything. 5. If you are 0-5yrs of age you only get the minimum to keep you alive, care after that is directly proportioned by the amount of education the gooberment has given you. From 18-30 you can get unlimited care, after 30 care will decrease as a direct p
  21. Damn people be crazy. Your daughter did the right thing driving off, smart cookie right there. She also did well to know what kind of car, and where the guy went so the police could arrest him. Her quick reaction took another law breaker off the street. Good job.
  22. Well sorry that your uncle died. Was it the Leukemia (a white blood count disease) or the respiratory illness that he died of? Both illnesses are involving two different systems of the body.
  23. Yep, I have bought, and sold a few items on there.
  24. Well it's not like our country was ATTACKED, or a cat 4 that no body bothered to pay attention to came ashore. After all Barry has only had to deal with 1 hurricane (and, still people are suffering. Wonder why we haven't heard anything else about that?) It's not like he couldn't get any thing done, after all the first 2 years of his presidency he had an all demo congress (for those of you who are slow, congress is both the house, and the Senate.)
