There is/was no passive conversations in our home about drugs or pregnancy. Both of my oldest knew that having babies and doing drugs would change their lives forever. But, we were also not the parents who thought that our little angels/devils wouldn't do something either 1) to piss us off. 2) because it was/is something they were told not to do, and 3) because it's "cool." I have been there done that. It's not a matter of taking a hard line on the you are on your own, it's a matter of you (the babies parent) will not take advantage of me. If the baby needs diapers and food, you bet your butt I'm going to help. But, If mom and dad want to go to a party, um no I'll not be babysitting. For me that's the line. I will babysit if my child has school or work. But, I'm not baby sitting for parties and hanging out with friends. They can take said bundle along.

I remember back when I was a kid, we would play "Miss America" you put on the whole pagent thing. Now, I wonder if the kids are playing "Teen Mom?" Remember when Barbie got a baby sister? There were no Barbie parents around, but somehow she had a baby sister. Then there was pregnant Barbie. No point, and I'm not sure how that would influence the teens today. I will say this, I do think that all the celebrities having babies w/o the baby daddy being around and the Teen Mom program can have a bad influence on our kids.

It's been a few years since my youngest was in the pre-k program, but he was already enrolled in the daycare that had the program. At the time they had 3 classes that were paid for through the lottery and 1 that was private. The kids that were already enrolled in the daycare center got placed first. Then the ones on the waiting list filled up the rest. I still paid for him to be at the center. To me the pre-k program just enhanced what he was already getting from the daycare
