  1. Double guilty because my husband is worse than I am. Our dogs eat better than most people!
  2. The most important thing is to pay the folks that have made American medicine great. The crisis is that no matter how much we pay the money is being skimmed. The answer is so simple, put a stop to it. It is so unfair to those that have gone to school for 6,8, 10 years in order to help people. I pay what I can afford for health insurance, I know it would be 1/2 of that if the money went from my hand straight to the provider every month. I heard a rumor that a certain hospital's staff ask the desk if the person has insurance, if not, it is downhill for the patient from there on. I was outrag
  3. As far as I know many 3rd world countries have the pay per visit/ procedure. Why don't we hear about how bad that is for people in those countries, nobody really cares. Nobody visits the villages and slums to ask how many are dying or suffering from lack of care. It is understood that if you don't have the money you stay at home. People do the same here, except when they can no longer bare it, they go to the emergency room where you and I pick up the tab.
  4. There is so much craziness about how it should work. We know that only about 50% of our healthcare dollars actually end up in the hands of a healthcare worker. How much money does it actually cost to make healthcare available to everyone. We know that at the bottom of all the problems are exactly what I stated. We were paying more and more because 1/2 the population paid nothing. We changed the law to make everyone pay. The issue is still that only 50% of those dollars are still going to reach providers. It will never work until that is eliminated. We are going to have to stretch way
  5. The conversation in the video may have leaned towards the young men being in the wrong, but that was not my point.I believe women should take full responsibility for their actions. Be suspicious of any situation where you are being encouraged to drink too much or offered drugs. I also talked to my son just like Gog8tors did hers. I feel sorry for the young ladies that think sleeping around is acceptable in this day and time,my son and his friends out grew the sluts after their freshman year in high school. It was interesting to sit in on their conversation and hear them say there are
  6. Men don't get pregnant. Regardless of the outcome a women is a mother from the moment of conception. Men on the other hand choose whether to be a father or not. All sexual encounters have the potential for very serious consequences. A women especially should give each encounter serious thought, since she carries the burden of consequences. Alcohol has been used for seduction purposes long before I was born. It is my job as a mom to warn my daughters drinking too much and allowing a lapse in judgement to effect the rest of their lives. I was raised that the way of things is for a man t
  7. It might surprise some folks to know just how scared many countries are of us. I am not that concerned about this. Almost all modern countries beef up their military as they become wealthier. They will not be easily provoked into killing their cash cow. We are more valuable living and spending. This type of thing was done frequently during the cold war also. I told my husband that the women would put a stop to it as soon as we converted them to consumerism with make up and washers & driers. They are not our enemy just because they choose to do what we have done which is spending to
  8. A few years ago they arrested a postal worker for the same in Powder Springs. The meth pipe explains it all, her poor husband it must be hell living with someone that will do anything to feed their habit while dehumanizing themselves.
  9. I had this conversation with my daughters when they were old enough to date. There is nothing shocking about the email. Young men have been getting lucky this way forever. Don't be shy talking about this to your daughters. Once they hit puberty you have to tell them how young men will give them alcohol and drugs, as much as they want. I explained this to my girls and told them that once they were drunk they were more likely to not use protection. You can show them this video. Oh and as long as your daughter tells you all boys aren't that way, she is not ready to date Not all boy
  10. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
  11. I am so happy for you. Sometimes you have to give up and let God take over. I am so glad you are back on track.
  12. That sounds like our street! I decorated and lit it up, I got about 20 kids. It is a shame because I give chocolate
  13. My son went to a private school where there was zero tolerance for putting your hands on another student. There was very little fighting and bullying. The zero tolerance in the case of bullying and hitting works. The kids know ahead of time about the consequences if they even touch another student. There is no way around the fact that teachers ignored the screams and tears of this child. When a teacher sees one child touching another the child needs to be sent to the office for punishment. As adults we have learned that we don't put our hands on other people. It is part of maturing and
  14. Obviously he did not see the mug shot either. The man's eyes gave me chills, he looks so cold and really evil. I usually don't make remarks about mug shots, but he looks very dangerous with hate filled eyes.
  15. Article This little girls story breaks my heart. The mother of a Roopville 8-year-old said her daughter doesn’t want to ever go back to school, following a series of alleged incidents in which classmates pulled her hair, eventually causing a gaping wound on her scalp. Sarah Charles, the mother of third-grader Aolani Dunbar, said her daughter has not returned to Roopville Elementary since being removed nearly two weeks ago following the incidents. Charles said she’s hoping to have her daughter transferred to another county school soon. The girl reported the incidents earli
  16. That is a good question, I would like to know the answer to that.
  17. I am assuming your issue is that this is a private, public partnership and because public money is being used we have a say in the matter. It is no different than what is happening on 278, taxpayers paid for the water and sewer for those areas. Businesses don't pay for infrastructure and without it in place no businesses will come. We are building the airport for the most part with FAA grants. I am sure those are based on a lot of things. I am pretty sure we paid for sewer and water, the builders that made a fortune here surely didn't We are also recovering that land when we can
  18. This is what I was told, and it is going on now. That Delta and Reed carry a lot of weight with the FAA. Had they known about this early on they would have been able to block any assistance from the FAA which we are dependent on to pay back the bonds. It is apparent that this is true. The lawyers for Delta are going through Blake's files at this moment to find any little thing to stop FAA funding. Why because every penny of FAA funding spent here is less for Atlanta and Delta. Bottom line they will not tolerate competition and will use their powerful influence to stop it.
  19. The county needs a PR person and a monthly news letter that people can subscribe to. This would solve a lot of misunderstandings and create more transparency when possible. The trust issue will not go away, it is going to have to be addressed or fight these battles repeatedly. A lot of things going on are positive when you keep up, there has to be away to bring the public into county business in a positive way.
  20. My understanding is the focus for a long time has been aeronautic manufacturing and maintenance. I truly believe that this company was plan B. I believe that this is a group of investors. The question is will all their money and focus go into commercial flight or are they diverse enough to bring in the manufacturing also. They are talking about security and baggage carriers, Delta is seriously trying to stop them so I am wondering if these investors are truly trying to break into the low cost carrier market. I still don't think we are going to see a lot of passenger flights out of here. I
  21. I think in the end the I's will be dotted and the T's crossed and the bonds will go through. A lot of businesses are invested in this county. I know people don't think about it that much. They like the convenience of the Home Depot, Sam's and other chain restaurants and stores. We tend to take them for granted along with many people that provide products and service. Economic development is a must for these business owners to stay here. Many small businesses did not make it through our local recession. Others are not going to hang on forever. I think what bothers me the most is there is ne
  22. It seems the older I get the faster my body starts adjusting before we even change the time. I have started going to bed earlier the last 2 weeks. I guess that makes me officially old
  23. Article Witness accounts indicate that multiple riders were seriously injured because they couldn’t stay inside the two sets of 16 seats without seat restraints. Manar Joudeh, 18, said she saw the ride start again after an attendant lifted safety restraint bars, when most modern rides should have been disabled, according to Martin. Passengers unable to jump off were lifted high into the air, then dumped out as the ride ran its routine. This story really bothers me. When My oldest was 8 years old and tall enough to ride a alone we went to the carnival. My other 2 children were to sm
