  1. That is my point, our county was ask to create a list, most everything on our list was already on our local tsplost list, ours were of course shorter but nothing was made up to find a way to spend that tax money. Our needs had already been looked at. This would do our projects quicker and of course cut the feds out, which delights me. The no vote in Paulding is just adding time to our projects not shutting them down. I think it is important to focus ourselves locally, I believe in local economies and in tending them as a priority, we need to tend to our business and not get outraged over
  2. I can tell you this, if it weren't for insurance and gov. payment the cost of medicine would be reasonable. When you look at cost, like a prescription that is over 1000 a month and treatments well into the 10's of thousands of dollars in reality only the wealthiest can afford to be treated for some illnesses and conditions. Had we not gone down the road medicine would have not developed into a rich mans privilege, which is exactly what it is at face value. Insurance companies have kept their cost down for profit by denying many therapies or refusing to pay for them outright. Had we stayed
  3. We could have gone the Republican plan which was to deny healthcare to deadbeats and the problem would have solved itself one way or the other over time. People just don't have their priorities straight, you pay for health insurance before you buy anything even food, after all your life is the most important thing. People would have come to realize this when they locked the hospital doors to people with no insurance or cash to pay. We are in a recession and it is everyone for himself. If everyone doesn't pay then there is not enough health care for everyone. You don't force people in Am
  4. Question for you, would you have been more inclined to vote for it had they promised not to raise fuel taxes over the 10 years?
  5. Good grief people, health care is always a job creator, if someone wants to give Obama credit for it so what. People will always get sick and with cancer rates at one in three this is a no brainer. The only way to stop healthcare from creating more jobs annually is to start locking the hospital doors against those that can't pay. If you don't lock the doors then it is going to grow, the cost is going to grow associated with it. You didn't have to even pass a healthcare bill to make those 2 things happen. Where is common sense these days. One thing that Obama care will not do in the near
  6. I am just shaking my head about what goes on under the Dome. How much time and taxpayers money was wasted on a piece of legislation that nobody will support. The big question is exactly what went wrong? Many counties have passed Tsplost and Esplost to benefit themselves. Is it a recession? the passage of the Healthcare Bill as in taxed enough already. Leadership trust issues are a given. I think what might have bothered some folks at the end of the day is the characterization of the plan as a wish list. And the proof that some of it was wishful thinking. Many of us wish unemplo

  10. One of the worse things I have seen families have to deal with is the person that uses anger to snap out of depression. They lash out at everyone around them, they constantly find things to be annoyed at. They often maintain totally unreasonable grudges. This is a pretty common way people deal with depression. Many of them will deny that they are depressed and continue to blame everyone around them for their anger. You can never please these people. I have met so many people in the last few years that had a parent like this. The hurt that was inflicted on them as children never goes away
  11.   Is it politically correct to say he is so ugly he is cute
  12. I don't mind folks saying Hi, it just seems awkward when you try to stop. I really like the feature though.
  13. What I enjoy is watching some folks get jumped all over for their political and religious garbage. It's best to remain anonymous with your extreme views, they believed their so-called friends wouldn't dare respond to them the same way they were responded to when they were anonymous I almost rolled out of chair one night when some one got told off almost word for word like they did by many when they were spouting it on here. With my closest friends we just close the box and don't respond back we are secure in the relationship like that.
  14. Lets talk about FB, is there something wrong with me that hide all the religious and political stuff people post? And if that is all they ever post I hide them. I adore the IM on there and I use it a lot. Another question, etiquette of ending a chat when you are done and still want to browse. I don't want to tell people that I am going somewhere or going to sleep when I am just done chatting and want to move on. How do you handle it?
  15. I have known many somewhat effeminate men, that were not gay. One of the worse things that I ever observed was on a dock in SC. There were floating islands that bloomed with very neat flowers, we were hooking them to bring them closer and pick them to see them better. A young man about 11 or 12 ask for one of them. His father blew a gasket in front of everyone about him acting like a sissy, the only thing he changed was to turn his son into an insensitive ass, I could only wonder if part of his education in becoming a man was to abuse and disrespect women. I know no matter how hard any
  16. You are simplifying the issue and you know it. The fact that you are able to enjoy the company of your relative says a lot about you in a good way. We are all trying to understand the issues that arise from many of the scientific studies that are different than once believed like the ability to medicate epileptics to lead relatively normal lives. Having compassion for people that have problems we can't understand or fix is fine. I can have compassion for the pedophile while feeling absolutely guilt free for imprisoning him for the rest of his natural life or curing him through altering h
  17. As you know I am blond and a little slow link me to someone that speaks plain English instead of someone espousing their own ideals as though they were a reality. As we all know you are expert on economics. And many other things one of which is hating on me. Have a good Day.
  18. I thought we wanted to be independent of the feds and states to be in control. People don't want Georgia to take federal medicaid money and are considering fighting it. The hospitals are having a hissy fit saying the state of Georgia is so cheap our hospitals will close. I think they are probably right.
  19. So you are saying our local officials were forced to work on this project, do you think they purposely sabotaged it? I have taken a lot of chances on a lot of things, some have worked out for the better some not so much. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my taxes are going to go up to support the unemployed and the underemployed. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will be paying taxes on medical for these people. People didn't ask to lose their jobs, they didn't ask for lower paying jobs, if we do nothing this will get worse, their is absolutely no use for people and equipment to
  20. As far as I know renewal will be put to a vote. Things are bad in people's homes due to the rising cost of living and wages staying flat for almost 12 years. People have voted for years to continue splost taxes such as our local ones because they directly see the benefits from them, this is upsetting to people because it is regional. This splost is more about the economy than it is roads, we can survive indefinitely with the roads we have, no politician is going to admit this is about the economy of the state. The issue is that regions and economies are linked, businesses tend to do busines
  21. Just so you know the boneheads that came up with this idea were commissioners and mayors from every county in the state. The legislatures just voted to put it on the ballot. The people closest to main street and the concerns of the common people saw what this would mean to local economies, including small businesses in every single county in the state. The legislatures are too worried about re-election to back it, which has undermined confidence in the project across the board.
  22. No sir, when that money goes into the hands of hundreds of workers to spend as they please, the entire economy improves and you know that. You know that supporting thousands not working with our tax dollars is very unwise. You penny is going to be ripped from your hand to float these people and you know that to be a fact. Money has got to move and this has as good as any plan of breaking the dam. Doing nothing is not an option anymore. I like this plan as well as any to jump start local economies in Georgia. I am sure big equipment companies will benefit and we know that manufacturing
  23. You mean the rhetoric that says people that are unemployed want to be unemployed, that everyone getting assistance is lazy. You keep believing that. Speak of class warfare you seem overly worried about a successful construction company making more money on this deal than you think he deserves. Liberals want to give it away to the folks that are chronically poor, and you know that. This is about people working their butts off on road construction to earn money to support their families. You are the one trying to make out as a spread the wealth, something for nothing. You know better you are
