  1. Pacs have made republican incumbents impossible to beat.
  2. I honestly don't think so, he took the moderate vote and moderates vote strictly on merit. He may take the solid Democrat voter, but he won't get moderate or the swing vote. I predict he will lose by a small margin based on the low quality of his opponent. His opponent is an elitist, claiming to be a republican, exactly what got us here in the first place. People voted for Obama to change the direction of the country, he has lost value beyond that. He can't really count on the folks that thought their free ride would be improved because he never did that. The only increases to social programs
  3. While I agree with you, I wanted to be fair to Mr. Curruth by giving a different perspective of his financial troubles. He had a company that is very expensive to run and that is why I posted what I did. The amount of money he is debt for is hard for the average person to understand that works for someone and has taxes taken out. When business is slow and the payments on the equipment come due along with quarterly or even monthly tax payments, there is a decision to be made, make the payment on the equipment so you can use it to make enough money to pay the tax bill. Or let the equipment
  4. I often tell people one of the hardest things a successful business owner does is to write a quarterly check to the IRS. It really chaps you when other don't. I honestly have not made up my mind about this race, so I am still looking at all things about the candidates and putting them in perspective. The business Mr. Curruth was in has the highest overhead of construction business. I had a relative in the same business and spent years recovering and paying debt. The machines are very expensive that they use for moving dirt, especially if you are purchasing them and maintaining them. W
  5. Divine justice, homophobes paying millions of other homophobes hard earned money on a lost cause as old as Adam and Steve Eve. You all know that children are starving and dying of diseases all over the world. Christians need to ask themselves, what would Jesus do. He would probably tell the starving folks to pick yourself up by the boot straps, get off your lazy arses and work. Only Americans are rich enough and selfish enough to indulge themselves in such foolishness.
  6. It was a great evening, Wade Lowman, Jimmy Dean and some other local talant reall belted out some excellent tunes. I was amazed to see all the folks that came out to meet Melissa tonight. If you missed the chance to meet her and have an enjoyable evening with lots of nice folks from all over the county, you will get another chance next weekend at Pasianos in Cedercrest. They are under new ownership, I tried them last week and the food was amazing. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: Sorry I missed having dinner with you , but it is always good to say HI. Win
  7. I will vote for it in support of the effort, if we don't we send the message that we don't really care or we believe it is a hopeless situation. It was really brave of some of those folks to put their name on the list. It made a lot of them unpopular with their peers under the dome. The Tea party, candidates both Republican and Democrat are coming together to make try to make government more ethical. The only ones not supporting this are lobbyist crying fowl and those that are enjoying the gifts. I would also like to see our State Representatives paid more. For 2 reasons, it lowe

  9. This is blatantly unethical, take a look at many of the incumbents disclosures you will see were the majority of the their campaign funds came from the campaign funds of other politicians. Not the constituents in their districts. This gives them tremendous visibility to public in the form of signs and ads. This is not the people of the community donating to a candidate out of the desire to see them elected. This is other Republicans purchasing power for their agenda regardless of what constituents want. Ethics reform is being fought tooth and nail under the dome.
  10. His comments on the press release are politically motivated. He is not giving you his opinion based on his expetrise. He is giving his view point of this based on politics. If he wants to come out and say that I am claiming this to be an inferior move on the part of the county because I believe that under a new leader we will put the county coffers before jobs then he needs to say just that. This is great news for the people of our county, the only reason it is not good is it does not fit someone's political agenda. I am not humiliating him, he is no simpleton throwing out an innocent obs
  11. No, the Interroll facility is a brand new operation, so it will be all new hires with the exception of the 10 employees already at the Hiram location. The 200+ jobs are for those projects announced since September. The Interroll facility will take 10 months to construct, ADI at the Airport is under construction and is due to be completed later this year they are part of the 200. I spoke with Jamie Gilbert and he said the jobs are all those confirmed and projected between now and the next 24 months as the buildings are completed. and the companies begin hiring. His efforts continu
  12. Lisa the money collected in Paulding's region will never fund anything you mentioned. It would sonud rather threatening had they said that the increase in commute times might be 10 -15 minutes if we don't do it. The studies only addressed normal days of commute, if you start adding up the hours spent in traffic jams and the fact that our surface roads are just as congested you start to see the time spent in a car add up very quickly over ten years of your life. The bottom line is that the message can not penetrated the rhetoric.
  13. You know a lot of people walk around crowing about helping small business. I am a small business owner for 20 years now. I work with small business everyday. I know what their challenges are and I know what hurts them. Some people are very concerned about tax abatement and incentives. In the real world of manufacturing every community with an economic development organization has the power to offer abatement, breaks on leases, and other incentives. What we have now is nothing 10% of nothing is nothing. No building, no lease, no taxes and no payroll. Abatement allows us to beat other
  14. Those tax breaks amounted to 1-2 percent of the overall fuel tax collected. Those companies can do more with the millions of dollars it saved them, such as expansion or hiring than DOT can make a significant impact with that money on road projects. I have no issues with legislators voting for it, after studying it I see that the people not the legislators that worked on this did an excellent job, they had no reason not to vote for it. The not supporting it and not being truthful about it is the problem.
  15. I am not talking down to anyone and hope it is not being taken like that by anyone,I have worked very hard at researching this.I have worked hard to find the real facts behind a glossy marketing package that has failed miserably. I think that it was cowardly not to tell the people the truth behind the lack of road improvement in every region but region 3.
  16. I think that would be great Winston, hopefully you will know an economic development expert to help you interpret what you are looking at when you get it.
  17. I am done trying to persuade anybody about this,I really don't care because this was a failure from the get go. But I am going to make sure everyone knows the truth about transportation in Georgia. That has nothing to do with the fact that we are being force to pay a tax that we never see any benefit from. And that was not the basis of the conversation about the tsplost as it should have been from the get go.
  18. My understanding after I had the off camera conversation with Scott, is that it won't matter to the people of Paulding if we pay a dollar more a gallon in taxes we will never see it come here for the projects on that list. It is formulas and calculations that will keep us close to the bottom of that list indefinitely.
  19. The studies on 92 are complete and the money allocated by the state. That is why it is not on our local list, after 20 years the state is coming through with that one. Scott and I talked extensively about hwy 61 especially from a safety point of view. It has the highest fatality rate of any hwy in the county. The biggest factor in that is the lack of turning lanes. The state has been hesitant in doing the turning lanes even though it would lower the fatality rate. They hope to take it on as a full project with widening so that they would not have to rip out the work done on turning lanes.
  20. The maps are on my office computer and I will be glad to put them up when I get there this afternoon. The by-passes are fantastic I got excited and sad at the same time knowing we would never see them done in our lifetime.
  21. I believe that number is for oversight statewide for the entire 10 years, It is a tiny percent of what the tpslost will bring in over 10 years. We are not talking one person doing the oversight we are talking hundreds over 10 years from counties and regions. It really amounts to a stipend to these people for time and gas.
  22. We still have real estate people in this county with families to feed. The Yancy brother's employees have families to feed. No matter where you put a road it will go through someones land. Scott Green will not lose his job, We still have roads and intersections. He also has a family to feed. Every new company will have CEO's with families, they will go to our schools and will boost our economy. I think you folks need to keep your pennies. That way you won't have anything to complain about when it comes to roads or traffic problems in the county. People need hope right now that th
  23. Interroll strengthens position in the North American markets Interroll to Open New North American Regional Center of Excellence in Paulding County Hiram, Georgia/USA, 20th July 2012.
