Ok, I need some 'splainin on something

There are studies that prove the lower cost to a county, I will do some hunting to see if I can find one that shows how the cost is calculated. The pay rate I believe off sets the county cost. They have a formula they use for the calculation. -
There is no document, if feel comfortable spreading a rumor that there is one go for it. Where do I look? I'm game.

I understand that there is not much drywall business out there. Things just aren't being built in this economy. I also understand that we don't have much need for a lot of inspectors anymore. I am confused about why he is running for this office. I understand of course the paycheck part. I just don't see as a commissioner how he can change the things that came about as a result of the housing crash. He can't create a need for more people in the inspection department. You can hire people back if you want to, it still doesn't create a need for them. I am just trying to figure out what he is goi

Let's talk about wasteful and extravagant spending

Did someone give you your job because you needed it? or because you were qualified. A lot of the new jobs pay well and you will have to be qualified. We have thousands of jobs in this county that pay minimum wage, they are willing to train folks. There is absolutely no way to respond to his remarks with out insulting a lot of people and giving away a lot of things. I don't particularly appreciate the insinuation that others don't deserve what they are getting paid. It comes down to a changing of the guard, the new guard is going to be making the same money and have the same power. If -

I am not the least bit worried about eating crow on this one. No matter what happens in the election the contracts have been signed nobody can retroactively put a stop to this these jobs will stand. you know the good paying ones. I am sure that small business will hire more minimum wage folks in the meantime. We will all have a big celebration over that. This conversation has made a dramatic turn with your help for people to find something evil in good paying jobs coming to Paulding. It's not a get rich quick scheme like housing development. I can tell you that across the board businesses -
Whitey everyone that serves on the board brings an area of expertise. I believe Blake Swafford deals with the land acquisitions.

Let's talk about wasteful and extravagant spending

You want the city or county to spend money in an area where the businesses wouldn't put a dime back into buildings no matter how much they made. Take a look around next time you drive through there. Very few of those businesses care about their appearance. Many are not open to the public so the facade is not important. The city and county can not force people to maintain a building. The roads and sewer through there come under the jurisdiction of the local GOV and they seem well maintained to me. The facts are the facts on grants, why attack people for telling you how it is. Go yell -

Your argument would absolutely be credible if you knew any of the details of the economic plan. It does not take long for me to figure out someone is punching holes in something they don't have a single factual detail on. But thanks for playing. -

As far as I know there has only been one new building under this administration, some of the early things in North Paulding were in the process and could be changed but not stopped. The studio has a single goal and that is to pump outside money into the local economy. The newest is the Cedercrest extension the purpose of that is to recover wasted infrastructure going to a bank owned failed residential development. We can zone parts of it commercial and industrial and bring jobs to the county. I am not sure that this administration can claim the hospital 100% but I know dirt did not move unt -

You will find that most upscale communities are doing this. I think the object is to cut down on big obnoxious signage. I think you may be forced to pay to be on the sign because you can not put up a certain type of sign after the program is started. I am not fond of them especially when I am in a new area,, but it has become a modern standard in communities all over the country. -

The guidelines and strictness surrounding funds is to protect them from abuse. If people agree to pay taxes for something specific you can't turn around and create a project that makes your relative or friend a lot of money while you are in office. It's not perfect, but that is the general idea of these things. I know there has to be some grant money out there somewhere to help the owners of the downtown businesses to improve those old buildings and maintain them. There is a saying that grant writers are worth their weight in gold. I think it would benefit down town building owners to p -

I don't think that they are that specific, but it is a general type of spending. I can ask Boyd more about it. The money is on a shelf for those shopping for it. They only pay for certain types of projects the money is never returned to general funds if it sits there 50 years. We didn't make the laws about it the feds did. -

Building industrial buildings is not like building a Popeyes chicken on the corner. These projects are never announced to the press until every I is dotted and every T crossed. Quite honestly had he listed a 1/2 dozen retail businesses paying minimum wage you would do the little clappy, instead comparing this to Obama. These are private sector jobs, you do understand the difference right? Just the building of these will help the local economy then the jobs that follow. Did you not see any jobs on the list you qualify for? -
My issues have never been as much with you, but with seeing someone I respect and like run into the ground because he is accomplished and educated. He automatically becomes a bad guy? There is more to this county than an airport. When the airport becomes the focus of an election it is simply ridiculous. The decision to build the airport is in the past, way in the past it's done. The continued bringing it up as a present negative that needs to be addressed. I am very interested in the specifics of how the airport is going to be handled by any candidates. All of the people running have ac

You know Whitey some of what you say might be true. But let's be honest, you hate that airport, you want to see it fail and all the money invested in it go to waste. You are supporting Heidi for 1 reason she agrees with you about the airport. Politics is a business, running the county is just like running a business. When the county is successful we are all successful, when anything in the county fails due to bad decisions we all fail. Hopefully the airport will grow, thrive , become successful and be able to pay those folks out there millions for their land. After all that is the ultimat

That made absolutely no sense in the context of what I answered you with. I looked back over some reports and press releases I saved. I think you might want to spend a few days with David then see if he could do both jobs. Are you on another planet about the parks? the last one to be built was under the new administration, my understanding is that they could not back out of it when they took office. Quite Frankly parks are nice but not high up there on the priority list of to have to maintain when it comes to service. Maybe we should close some of them if we can't maintain them until the economy improves. I want to know where you are getting your first hand knowledge of who does and does not really work hard. I think you -

I don't think she was saying that, she is saying that things are so terrible in Paulding, our taxes are high and we don't get anything for them. She sees wasteful spending every where she looks, she is not particular in who she blames. Everyone with an I in front of their name is lying to cover up their extravagant lifestyles, jet setting all over the country on $149.00 plane tickets and dinners at McDonalds. It's going to be a knee slapper anyway when these voucher folks figure out the vouchers won't pay for books, uniforms, and school lunches. That is going to come out of pocket to the -

That splost is divided, each city decides what to do with their portion. Firework shows, Christmas tree lightnings, concerts in the park. A Grant is the same as stimulus, ear marked. The taxpayers money has already been put aside, so someone is going to get it. Put a stop to the feds earmarking stimulus and grants instead of blaming local folks for taking it. I think you are wrong about the sidewalks, it was related to the silver comet trail. On top of that, frankly Downtown Dallas looked like a dump before the work was done. Lord knows those leases change hands year after year, many wou -

Sitting on my hands on one of your points. I had heard that travel ball is a huge money maker for Parks and Rec. and even a community. I am not sure why we aren't doing it. I heard something about it being to much work, It seems that if you worked at it you would be rewarded with more help when it got rolling. They would have simply brought in another county administrator at the same pay and he would have had to hand down the cuts too. Where are all of the concerned citizens at BOC meetings saying we are willing to have our taxes raised to keep all the jobs. It is a budget, you get x amoun -

That is fine, I think the opportunity for you to do that is coming up soon. The BOc does not control the school board or what they do with the money. They are all up for re-election. But the record stands as people not wanting to put any more in to education in Georgia. I doubt you will be very popular in wanting to raise taxes and spend more. Just wait until it comes up and see what the majority want. I sacrificed for 10 years to send mine to private school, you heard no complaining from me ever about the schools on this site. -

So we had officials from all over the state attend a fake press conference that was released in every news outlet for 50 miles. I am sorry hun those jobs are a matter of record, not just here, but with the department of labor. You are right everything you mentioned is fact, and you know who your last BOC consisted of and you know they are gone and have been for a few years. You can't change those facts. There is a very clear time line and I have video proof of who was in office and many of the other things such as the reservoir. We cut 70 government jobs and added 200 private sector jobs. -

]When government earmarks money it can not be spent on anything else. The original idea of this was to appropriate funds for needed projects and not allow them to be diverted to pet projects as politicians came and went. The city of Dallas did not create that, and that money could never be used for anything else if it sat there a 100 years. -
I am very detail oriented, I want details of how she plans to accomplish this. I am not being ugly, I am being practical. The running of this county is absolutely a business. I get paid for running a business, nobody pays me for existing, I am not on welfare.
