Looks like folks will have to come back to pcom for news
LPPT replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Reporters and journalist generally have to cultivate relationships within the community they work in. I am not sure Patch has achieved that in many of the communities they serve. If a journalist has not cultivated a lot of relationships over a pretty long period of time, they basically are playing catch up the first few years in a new area. I am not sure Patch took this int consideration when going into small communities. Patch did a pretty good job. I have been considering coming back to p.com to cover news exclusively. Without news there is no accountability, this county is much to l -
Story The "Northeast Passage" is in blue. The maiden voyage to Europe by a Chinese merchant ship through the "Northeast Passage" will help the world's biggest exporter speed goods to market and is a symbol of Beijing's strategic ambitions in the Arctic. The emerging Arctic Ocean shipping route north of Russia has been opened up by global warming and cuts thousands of kilometres (miles) -- and many days -- off the journey from China to its key European market. A vessel owned by Chinese state shipping giant COSCO left the northeastern port of Dalian last week bound for Rotterdam

Here is the link to the video, I could not get an imbed code. I think this is a good topic for discussion. Be a man. Stop being such a fag. Grow a pair. You're such a girl. Man up. Every single boy growing up in the United States has heard these phrases at least once over the course of his life. They are all too common. They are also all too damaging. Most think that "toughening" boys is just a rite of passage, but a growing body of research is showing just how harmful these messages can be. A new documentary brought to us by Misrepresentation entitled The Mask You Live In will

We also have to take into consideration that our economy is based on recreational spending and conspicuous consumption. If we were as frugal as our grandparents we would collapse the economy

See if this helps, those thingies that look like telephone wires that go into the router, sometimes the router does not have enough holes for all the devices that use those cables. The thing that he gave you is like a power strip to allow you to plug more of those devices into. I have one of those to help me because I have multiple towers, printers, and uverse on my router. I have also needed the usb type ones from time to time. Just think of it as a power strip and it will make sense to you.

True hoarding is a mental illness. You can't fix it by throwing their stuff away. You will traumatize them and they will just get worse. My grandfather was so bad that in his 90's he moved in with my aunt and they literally had to lock the garbage can up when they went to bed or left him home alone. He would then comb the woods behind their home for rusted and rotted objects to stash in his room.

I am going to see if my husband can get a picture of me kissing her paws. It is the cutest thing ever. You can see how rambunctious she is. When she was tiny and cuddly she would put her paws on my mouth and I would kiss them. She still does that and will sit calmly holding her paws to my lips for me to kiss as long as I will do it. With her growing up it will stop soon because of bacteria issues with her claws, but it is precious right now. Bottle raising a kitten is so different from adopting a weaned one. I just had to share with everyone!!!

I would love to see my tax dollars go to purchasing the fertility of both these girls. We wonder why there are so many children with behavioral issues in the school. They have mothers like these 2.

I had the birth control talk with my son in 6th grade. It was a very graphic and blunt conversation. He starts college this year and I still bring it up from time to time. He gets annoyed of course and I just say I am being a mom, let me do my thing. I think kids should have their first sex ed class in 5th grade and it should be painfully graphic. We all wish parents would or could do this, but the reality is most will wait well past puberty and give a stunted version along with a don't you dare. Your child is not you, you may have been afraid, or simply not inclined. Some think rais

I have become the family historian by default. I do not have a storage unit yet. I have many items over 100 years old. It is not up to me to decide if these things are valuable. I keep all the things in reasonable condition. The grandchildren from both sides of the family will be welcome to pick through any of it and take what keepsakes they desire. I have even put some of my own handmade things in the guest rooms for the kids to someday take and I hope treasure.

She hangs with the dogs and has very little to do with the cats. We are working on discipline right now. We do not scratch and bite the people. She is learning pretty quick and minding when I scold her now. We are all scratched and bloody, enough is enough. Hopefully next time you visit she will not be scratching and biting. She treats us like she would her mom and litter mates.

I have not been comfortable with large crowded venues for many years. It started many years ago when I was a teen. I went to my first and only concert. People were stoned and drunk, throwing things in the air, whiskey bottles, bottle rockets, some fights broke out. I felt trapped with all the people around me and out of control should something bad happen. They had large speakers in the ceiling one started smoking and falling apart. The minute I saw it I left. I tried again about 19 years ago at a music festival in Atlanta, people crowding the stage made me feel trapped and helpless.

I have heard an argument that allowing addicts unlimited access to their drug of choice will result in the problem solving itself in a much shorter time. Basically people are held accountable for their own choices. They victimize society in their efforts to feed the monkey on their back. It would be cheaper to give it to them, than to try and stop them.

I believe Helping Hands has a pharmacy they work with to help people with prescriptions. They limit the number of times a year they can assist with food. I don't know if that applies to prescription assistance.

LINK I think that this is a step closer to legalization. Justice Department lawyers have worked for months on the proposals, which Holder wants to make the cornerstone of the rest of his tenure. “A vicious cycle of poverty, criminality and incarceration traps too many Americans and weakens too many communities,” Holder plans to say Monday, according to excerpts of his remarks that were provided to The Washington Post. “However, many aspects of our criminal justice system may actually exacerbate this problem rather than alleviate it.” Holder is calling for a change in Justic

Argument or debate? An argument insinuates anger. A debate is based on facts and logic. It is a debate until insults are traded then it becomes an argument. When it becomes an argument people become enemies. This is why I don't seek entertainment on right wing talk shows. 'They not only insult instead of inform, they insult the intelligence of everyone listening.

Who taught you those values? mm maybe your parents or grandparents or did you just hatch with all those values and ambition? It will take a public/ private partnership to untangle this mess. Just because you are a successful or wealthy black person does not mean you can walk in and change this.

We had to put the large black drain pipes in our yard to handle water. We are the lowest lot on the street. At one time we had a ditch for drainage, very ugly. I am wondering if you could get 2 of the metal pipes about 10 ft. long then have gravel trucked in to fill and make a driveway. The pipe is not that expensive, there is a junk yard on north 61 on the Bartow line that carries this pipe. I bought my drain covers from them.

The news loves to tell the stories of how some kid made it out of poverty, somehow escaped the drugs and gangs. 1 in 10,000 is not something to be proud of. We are a product of how we were raised, behavioral science is just that science. You can predict a person's behavior, you do this and they will do that. We certainly have seen the results of forcing men out of homes so their wives and children can get assistance. Children up to a certain age believe and trust their parents. Many of these children see their parents steal, lie, do drugs, sleep with any and everything. They see violen
