  1. So these are businesses and yes the government is a business in that they bring in money and pay it out for people and materials. They must have all paid their workers more and that is why they are so much more expensive. The only reason the price of anything goes up is that working people are getting paid more or too much. I get it I really do
  2. No it is kept secure by the LE, nobody in or out after a certain time.
  3. Create an FB page, address them by name. Facebook feeds the heck out of google. Make sure you don't liable yourself. Share links to their ads, others that have been screwed will be doing internet searches. Facebook was what forced the CDC to admit what was going on with Lyme disease beyond the north east.
  4. I admit that something is very wrong with the way my mind works when I walk out of Walmart with 5 bags that cost me over 100.00 and think OMG how in the world are people surviving in this economy when you are well aware of what 100.00 means to many. I may be dumb a$$ sucker but I am comfortable with that. I never take anything for granted. Nobody is above the worse that could happen. Yeah some give up and settle on survivable, life is hard, some are harder, but we are human.
  5. Why do you think they would do that? We assume that a person in business that grows his business and can't grow anymore without help would want to be as fair as possible with those that help him make more. Why would the federal government have to push him?
  6. Yes they do work cheap, they want the majority of Americans to reduce their quality of life, and work for less then they will bring industry back to this country. I am not signing on for that deal. We are getting there very fast when skilled and educated worker are taking minimum wage jobs to put food on the table. We need to go down screaming about what is happening. Americans have always worked hard for our quality of life and now we greedy, not thankful and we don't want to live like a third world country. Every time the cost of living goes up and our wages don't we are slipping backw
  7. I sometimes read google for hours, not just the headlines but many links that I see at the bottoms of articles. I tend to stay away from partisan websites and editorials. My views come from taking in the information and processing it. I am never being argumentative or trying to sway anyone to a political side. I believe be you a Republican or Democrat, you be true to that belief. The republicans need to make sure that what they see, live and learn stays true to their belief. The democrats need to do the same. Both philosophies can work together to create a better world, but only if they
  8. It made me smile that is why I shared it
  9. Healthcare reform will bring cost way down. What we are looking at is the hump that small business can't get over at this time and was the main reason they delayed it for a year. We will be without medical insurance and the old fashioned claim system. Insurance is still too high for small companies to deal with. Regulations are a nightmare, large corporations absorb these expenses like it was nothing and they don't balk, you know why? It is killing the small businesses that are competing with them. The power of corporations is like a vacuum that sucks money until there is no money left
  10. Explain to me how the cost of living continues to rise when wages are flat. People aren't getting paid more so why should things cost more? I perfectly understand the relationship of cost going up when people are paid more, that part of the equation is missing from the picture. 10 years employees have not cost them anymore, so where is the big fat expense that has caused them to raise prices?
  11. I don't know of anyone struggling under flat wages that can buy more or live better. You just keep believing the lower wages people will work for the better the economy.
  12. Your post is very interesting. I was searching for the minimum wage in NY city. I came across an article discussing the plan over the next few years gradually pushing min. wage up to 10 an hour. The remarks were very interesting, they were from all sides from an employer and worker. The most interesting was a man that expresses close to your point and one I have seen commonly on here. He is obviously a skilled worker and he says the closer the pay of unskilled worker gets to his pay the angrier he gets. This is why I am trying to discuss the minimum wage issue in terms of the over
  13. Hang with the video until the song starts you won't be sorry.
  14. I go out of my way to support the mom and pops. In restaurant and retail in our county. Most of them don't run an employee mill. When they find a good person to work for them, they hold on to them. Even if all they pay is minimum wage they try to give their people the hours to make it work. Small businesses in a community that don't service outside of the area understand that they live in a micro economy. They understand the direct results of their business model in their community. Chains and franchises are geared for maximum profit regardless of the consequences to the community or
  15. I just want to scream. First of all even though I have said several times in this thread that I do not support a 15.00 an hour minimum wage some keep saying I do. And again some keep saying I feel sorry for these people and want to see them get more money an hour. Last I hate these businesses and think they are cruel to their workers. None of that is my point NONE! We are talking about a business model used by 40% of the businesses in the nation that does not veer from this model regardless of profit. They will never work people full time, they will never raise them a penny ov
  16. I threw out the number of about 80%. It really does not matter how anyone feels about any of this. If this business model creeps up to 50% it will be catastrophic to the economy. The work for welfare was repealed by the president during the worst of the recession. They had to work at least part time for full subsidy. We have not gone back to that. There are very few teens in these jobs, many are well educated. The part time basically catered to the work for welfare program. I am pretty sure the 2 tier minimum wage was also an incentive to work welfare recipients. Many of Walmart's empl
  17. You tell me what our world looks like when 50% of the population is working part time on min. wage. My gas won't go down, my utilities won't go down, house note, insurance. In fact they will go up because 50% simply can not pay it. They don't pay taxes and if am in a business that is not something they can not do without 50% of the people won't be spending with me. At some point the proliferation of this business model becomes a black hole that sucks the rest of us in it. It's bad business period no matter what you do for a living you will get sucked down. No mam, their wages qualif
  18. Why would they close, they would simply raise the price. Am I to assume that all of the middle class would require a cost of living raise to cover a 5.00 burger a couple of times a week? This business model works so well, that we have mega electronic stores, hardware stores. There is a reason it is 40% of our economy. Why manufacture anything? There is a higher profit margin in selling and stocking cheap goods with part time minimum wage employees. Where do you think we will be when it gets to 50%. I can tell you a lot of professionals are going to be hurting. The proliferation and the per
  19. How many hours a week? I am suggesting that a fast food chain has 30 hourly on the payroll. All of them work part time, all are getting assistance. They hire 15 full time and me the taxpayer only has to subsidize 15 people. Now the grocery stores that are getting food stamps from 15 instead of 30 might have an issue with that. Me as a taxpayer feels a little more supportive of the business. You may not feel that this business model is detrimental to the economy and the country as a whole, but I do. If I weren't subsidizing I wouldn't care what they did. But I am rowing that boat as is the
  20. Metro will be serving Paulding. I don't know that Clark is going out of business.
  21. Not just Obama, but most of Washington have insulated themselves from many of the consequences of their actions. They were virtually untouched by the recession and the housing crash. I know, because I was there during the worse part, their homes lost no values, their unemployment was low and businesses were not closing up. They literally have safety bunkers to run to in the worse case scenario. I would dearly love to see us clean house and get new people. I don't care what their party is if you have the opportunity to vote out an incumbent do it.
  22. I ran across this article this morning. It is a very good one and more or less supports my view of the situation, which is support the refugees and allow this to play out. It also supports Putnum's point of view and that of the UN. http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/06/world/meast/syria-rebels/ This small paragraph speaks volumes, and the rest of the article is very informative. We very much risk the rebels getting their hands on the chemical weapons if they have not already. 7. There have been efforts to unite the rebels, but still there's no central figure leading them. And if the regim
  23. Honestly they care more about what we do. They watch us, some think Americans are heroes, others are starting to seriously fear us. It is a good thing if you are considering a direct attack. It is not so good when you don't feel we have the right to go in and decide what type of government or who should rule. Look at the situation we are in now, it just so happens 2 super powers disagree with us on who should rule a country. According to our way of doing things, might makes right, we need to stand down according to the rules our politicians follow. Mr. Obama obviously is not aware of that,
  24. My understanding is the priority is being a medicare/ medicaid provider. They have been working hard to meet the criteria for the way these people are to be served under healthcare reform. Once that is going smoothly they will begin providing plans for spouses and the public. They don't really have a specific date. As hard as they have worked I think they will beat all their time tables. October will tell the real story, I know so many people that are desperate, some sick hoping and waiting to enroll in an affordable healthcare plan. I am so fortunate to have never allowed my very affor
  25. We don't agree on some things, but I am reading the new reports 3 times a day from many sources and I am getting the same vibe. Honestly the Republicans supporting him are even scarier. I don't think Russia or China are bluffing this time. They have the power to make good on their threats. They know as well as we do that Americans are not behind this. He needs to slow down before he has to back down in front of the entire world. It is on him now to prove that the Syrian Gov. used them on their people. If he can't show them absolute proof they are going to stop him. I am not sure how
