You know I really like you and would not hurt your feelings on purpose and I hope you don't get them hurt. You all know where I stand on this issue so I hope you will consider that. You do realize the conservatives in this thread are talking about people in your circumstances. For whatever the reason that you can't pay a premium and it is nobodies business, you are the 40% responsible for the problem. You don't earn enough income, which in their view is because you are either lazy, uneducated or just unambitious. They don't want any excuses because none are acceptable. They don't w

You also have to consider what happened to insurance between 2001 and 2013. Many did not see pay raises because the employer was being charged more for insurance premiums. It has become more and more apparent that insurance has no business in healthcare. The middleman is the cause of our healthcare crisis and a lot of other economic problems. If you don't know what the problems are then how will you know what to ask your leaders to do or what you approve of. Left to their own devices they will simply find a way to line their own pockets with lobbyist money. This has been a great discus

As far as I am concerned, I don't see it as Obama care. It is healthcare reform. It opened the door to force change in healthcare. It is loosely enough written to allow positive change if our law makers work hard with healthcare professionals. He is just the face of reform and nothing else.

Actually I am not. I am not happy with the healthcare money running through their greedy little fingers. Healthcare personal need to make all financial decisions about care, test, procedures and drugs. It should be here is the money that the individual paid and here is the amount we promised to match. What is going to happen is oh you had 10 million left over at the end of the year, we will pay you 10million less the next year. As long as that money is not eaten by executive bonuses(much like state lotteries) I am good with healthcare professional using it to improve healthcare We ar

It will probably be more because of those that let their insurance drop because they couldn't pay over a 1000.00 a month for insurance. Many are not deadbeats they are paying their bills many can pay something for insurance, but nobody would take their money. If we can't have at least a 1000.00 for your coverage then we won't do business with you. The feds will take it, add a little if they have to and make it work. It will be a huge influx of cash to the medical system that won't bankrupt the hard working people in our country.

I thought republicans hated unions. I would think they would be happy that Obama is sticking it to them

My understanding is everyone can use the federal. Using the state is up to the individual. I believe this came about because of the states that refused federal medicaid money. They still have to offer the exchange but it does not necessarily have to be supplemented through medicaid. I am pretty sure that they do have to use the new medicaid guideline for income and enroll citizens that qualify. This is the reason the fed offered money to the states to cover the extra people they would be forced to enroll. It was a protest decision that will backfire on them. We will be paying higher stat

Actually cash practices are showing up everywhere they are general practitioners that deal with common illness. Without more expensive testing you can miss some early signs of serious illness. Without insurance people are going to make the decision to not go for additional testing and we are in the same boat of the expense of treating acute conditions for a lot more money. Dr.'s also deserve to get paid. A lot of money goes into office administration the doctors pay to get the money from the insurance companies. The claim system is a disaster, it is used to prove the doctor is diagnosing a

You can go with single payer and see who you want. If a doctor is out of network many people can not afford to see them either. A lot of doctors are leaving networks because they demand they discount their fees to almost nothing. I believe when it is done you will be able to change systems and their will be credit exchanges between systems. It will be a long time until we see this smooth out.

Imagine not being free to do anything you want to, to kids on your property. Our freedoms are going away at an alarming rate.

I stated in the other thread the reasoning for the change. Also the contract was put up for bid so that all the providers had a chance to get the contract. Someone mentioned taxes, the only income Hiram gets is food and liquor from all the new business on 278. The property taxes, impact fees ect go to the county. I am pretty sure they don't collect property taxes from the residents. I can see not wanting so many trucks running in such a small area. There is also a degree of accountability for trucks and drivers when there is only one. Douglasville opted to create a county garbage service

This is my issue with the entire thing. People are being forced to buy something they don't want. Most people want their doctor to get paid, after all he helps them. The 50% that stopped paying realized that it was a ripoff. If you went straight to single payer you would put health insurance out of business in short order. It is un-American, un-capitolistic, and unconservative to drive any business broke. It is fine to bankrupt people, turn down pre-existing, forcing the tax payer to foot the bill. To some is is down right nasty to put health insurance out of business. On the other hand

I just read an article that people in their 20's are protesting about paying 40.00 a month for health insurance. They don't believe they should have to pay for old people's medical care. Having senior parents I am glad that I have paid into the system that covers them. Parents on both side had medical issues that would have bankrupted us in a year.

I spoke to the Mayor about this. She said there were so many different companies serving the small part of Hiram they controlled that the streets had multiple trucks running every day of the week. They were loud(waking up folks) backing up traffic. They took bids all were invited to bid the job, some chose not to. If you are not aware, the Hiram city council has control over a very small portion of Hiram and that was the area being over run with trucks every day. Dallas does the same, I guess folks just don't disagree with what Mayor Boyd and his council do HOA's are very picky about tr

There is a lot of made up stuff. The ditto heads won't hold them accountable for the lies.

Yep this is where the majority of your health dollars go. These inept people sit going through claims you get a huge percentage that say you did not fill out 22.A. you are looking at it. Do you have any idea how much interest yours and millions more people is gaining while they send claims back unpaid. Not only that their are bonuses paid to those that keep the most claim money through refusals. Doctors are paying staff to file this and bill you over and over again. Do I feel sorry that insurance companies will be run out of healthcare, absolutely not. They can put their bottom line where

I understand we also believe in paying our on way. We have for many years covered the prescriptions out of pocket. We tried very hard to insure him. We lived with the fact that a single hospitalization could bankrupt us for life. Very scary way to live. I think there is always the burden of guilt on a family member who's sickness has caused the family to lose everything.

We are having different discussions about the reform. Most of those discussing have insurance and worry about the changes. We never have people that come into the discussions that don't have insurance. Is it that they are afraid of being attacked and blamed for reform? We often talk about small businesses being harmed. Most of my friends and associates have small business, less that 10 employees. Some are husband and wife only. The majority of them are my age 50 and over. Their premiums are 1000's a month and most have been turned down for pre-existing multiple times. For them the af

We learned long ago that just because it says it's flushable does not mean you should flush it when you have a septic tank. Most everyone here is on septic, so I thought I would share. Big problems in big city sewers They now have the poopy police that investigate who is using them BEMUS POINT, N.Y. — Increasingly popular bathroom wipes — pre-moistened towelettes that are often advertised as flushable — are being blamed for creating clogs and backups in sewer systems around the nation. Wastewater authorities say wipes may go down the toilet, but even many labeled flushab

I was going to say the same thing, I never send food back to the kitchen. Because of that I don't return to places I don't trust. Mexican restaurants are a huge issue with me. I only trust one. The rest I will only eat heavily cooked food, nothing raw like salad and only drink beer in a bottle. One minute they are throwing raw meat on the grill and the next throwing lettuce and tomato on the side without washing their hands in between. Blood is bad juju bleach and heat are the only things that can kill most of the pathogens in blood. The young lady needed to learn how serious it is.

I miss you too, so far the meds have been working. I don't go out as much but they allow me stay busy at home. The test results may allow me to use antibiotics for pain relief. I am hopeful and dreading at the same time.
