  1. My brother got out one night (back in the 70's) and rode the riding lawn mower to someones house down the skreet and was mowing their yard at at 2 AM!! They was friends of my parents. She called my mom and dad and said...."Did you know that John is outside mowing our yard right now" ummm no they didn't...
  2. This is right by my house... I didn't see the child when I left...and I left around 7:30 this morning.... Since I can't have a child....maybe I can just start looking along side the road and when I see one that a parent don't want...I can just take'em home. j/k
  3. This is the exact reason I went with a Color Laser printer by HP!! LOVE IT! I print all the stuff for my church and all my personal stuff. I've had it since Nov of last year and I'm still on the same toner cartridges. I'm glad I made the switch. It also has the different slots to put your camera cards into to be able to print photos and the photos won't run or smear like they do on an inkjet. Small footprint...and prints up to 8 1/2 x 14 edit to add it's a HP1518
  4. Don't Papa Johns have the $5 for school events or church events. I know that we have done it for our teens several times.
  5. My taxes was done by a CPA on 2/2. They were NOT electronically filed by the CPA. I got my Federal by DD on 2/26 and got my state CHECK in the mail on 2/26 also. I was told by the CPA that it could possibly take up to 12 weeks to get my State by check. I got them both 3 weeks from the time I filed. When I looked online for them both...they said I should be getting them by the 26th of March.
  6. Go to the doctor!! I agree with mo3! I have severe problems with blood clotting. I'm thankful that I know MY symptoms and can tell when I have one. I have Factor V Leiden. My blood clots waaaay to easy. I have been in the hospital many times because of blood clots to the lungs. The last time I had two clots the size of quarters that was still in my lungs. This caused damage to my heart. Please go and get it looked at!!!
  7. YaY! My dbf has a Honda VTX1300 edit to add.....I'm looking for a shadow 750
  8. If the JOB section of the AJC was brimming with jobs I would understand MrDis... but that ain't happening. But a person trying to get a job in todays economy is competing with 100+ applicants! Ga's UE is now at an all time HIGH 10.4%. That's 10% of the people who live in the state are UNEMPLOYED! I have seen and still see professionals / blue collar / self-employed going after ANY job. The last time Paulding had a call for 6 FF.....over 300 people filled out apps. I know that almost 280 showed up to take the physical agility part. They had to break it into 3 days. Lockheed gets over
  9. Rent = $500 a month Utilities = $250 total Car insurance = $70 month Car payment = $300 month Internet and phone = $75 $1195! Oh..and how are you going to eat and buy medicine OR Pay Child support if you have it! All of this to sit at home and and do nothing to look for a job! Sorry MrDis... I disagree with you this time!
  10. RedBox all the way. They have an App for the iPhone and you can rent movies and pick them up...
  11. LGM she lives right in the burbs of DC. She knows that he has a place to stay and a roof over his head... it's not her concern if he can or can't pay his other bills. His daughter comes first. She don't care how he pays his child support...as long as he does. She is understanding to some degree. But she still thinks he has an obligation to his daughter. He would have to take her back to court in Va. and not Ga. She is a single mom raising 2 kids (1 by another). Her oldest is almost 17 and his dad stops paying child support for him at the age of 18. So that's one less child support in a littl
  12. Here is a pic from my office at 9 am. It has stopped snowing right now.
  13. You never see me and DGITW agree... But I do agree with her this time. Another thing... DBF has a daughter that he has to pay child support on. Should he take the mom back to court and try to get his child support lowered... Or should he do without (like he does) just to be able to take care of his child! He would live under a freakin bridge to take care of his daughter. $298 wk with taxes taken out...... $750 a month child support.... You do the math and let me know if you can live on that. He's lucky that he does have savings to help him just to be able to survive.
  14. I agree with Harlee71. I hope the folks who are saying that people aren't looking for jobs and just drawing UE know that the folks drawing UE has to apply for a certain # of jobs a week! I hope you also understand that if you take a job making $10 and work 40 hrs a week you will be making MORE than you will on UE!! I don't care what kind of idiot you are....but $400 is MORE than the freakin $330 - tax that you get from UE. My dbf has been in the workforce for almost 30 years and this is the first time he has EVER drawn UE! I know he is applying at EVERYTHING he can. He even has a
  15. Most of my family and close friends is self employed. This time of the year is ALWAYS hard. But they have also saved throughout the year just to make it through the rough patches. I have a good friend who is an auto mechanic. He is always looking for the future. He knows when that he has to save for 'rainy' days. My brother and dad both do tile and marble. They know that you have to save all they can just to survive.
  16. what are they going to do to fend for themselves? I'm working PT right now! Starting this week my boss had to put 6 of us on PT. It's not like most of the folks are just dying to stay on UE. I know my dbf has to pay most of his in child support for one child!
  17. Call Gary's Glass in Douglasville!
  18. This is the reason I'm changing and going back to school for a degree in Criminal Justice....... There will always be crooks......even in a recession!
  19. I agree with you!!!! My mom wouldn't never drop me off and come pick me up at 11 or whatever. No way...No how. I was a good kid too...but we all was kids. I've been to this place 1 time. NEVER again. WAYYYY to many kids WITHOUT supervision. It was so packed that you couldn't even move. I seen 6 & up... running around like banshee idiots in that place Oh..and the girls in the bathroom talking about thier boyfriends... ummm lots of moms and dads who thing "my child wouldn't neeeevvver do that"... I hope this child is ok... I'm glad the lady stopped. I will keep him and his fami
  20. I have a very awesome recipe for Grape Salad. It's very easy and everyone at my church LOVES IT!
  21. I'll trade with the furlough workers.....and you can have my Part Time work. 24 hrs a week! I went from working 40+ to 24 a week. So I don't have any sympathy for furlough workers!
  22. I own a Toyota Truck and LOVE IT! I wouldn't trade it for anything....except another new version. Mine has 249k miles on it and runs like a champ
  23. Pick me Pick me... I know I know :waving hand in the air: ALOT are being bought by folks and driven to Mexico! There is a HUGE demand for vehicles (cheap/used) in Mexico. I actally know about 5 people who do this. They buy the trucks and drive them to Mexico and get about double what they spend on them. A friend of mine owns a garage and he will tell you the same thing. He has Mexicans coming by all the time wanting to buy used vehicles to take back "home".
  24. Most of the restaurants buy their chicken and other stuff from Browns. I know Fatback's did. The rest of the meats came from West Metro
