I agree, when our power goes off, we un plug everything,( we leave the stove light on) that way when the power comes back on, it is not such a big surge.

Ga power reporting 28,000 power outages, 2 hours ago it was 9000, at 10am they are expecting ice to get worse and from there on it will get worse the rest of the day

I live on nebo road close to hwy 61, i hear a few cars on hwy 61 and nebo road. so far we still have power, so the first thing I did was make my coffee... looks slushy at my house but freezing pretty fast.

I just read on fb that Food depot is open, the managers spent the night at the store. I do not advise going, but just in case you really really really need something it is open. I have heard traffic on hwy 61 and nebo, roads slushy right now, but freezing fast.

I am the same way, I have a percolator that belonged to my mother in law... it is the kind you set on the stove, I have a gas stove, I pulled that little handy dandy out last night and got it ready... i love fresh percolatored coffee on the stove, i remember walking in to my mother in laws house and smelling eight O clock coffee going on the stove... it always smelled so good. my yard looks like a winter wonder land of ice and that wind is rough, already over 9000 people out of power

yep... the news went there..... they just said this would be like the ice storm of 1973 I remember that storm, we were out of power for over 2 weeks not fun being total electric at that time. . maybe I need to re think this running to the store lol

huge power outages, and they said this one would be catastrophic. so unless they have changed the definition of that word then it is gonna be bad. the ice is what will be so bad.

on the news now, President Obama has declared Ga a state of ER if all the things happen that they say are gonna happen... I dread this.
