When you were traveling the US on your bike what made you come through Dallas? did you have family or friends here that you were visiting? I think that is interesting that out of all the places you have been you met your wife here in little ole Dallas.. My husband has been wanting me to get my MC licenses, but I just love riding with him and I like to look around when we are riding... so that would be dangerous for me LOL

Oh don't get me wrong we have not worried about paying bills off to the extent that we have lived miserable lives in the mean time. we have had fun, and done what we wanted.. we were just *caution* as we went along in life. I do agree about enjoying things with your kids now... we did the same and still do the same.

That is exactly what we are gonna do.. we have a motorcycle also and we ride all the time we have been places we would not have been if we were driving a car seeing new places on a bike is so much better... I know your wife will enjoy traveling as much as you do.. we love it.. we have not been to as many places you have been, but we are slowly making our rounds LOL

were you in the new hope area on Tuesday I seen someone loading some scrap metal at my neighbors home and I was wondering if that was you...

my parents were like this, and my mama is still like this... they worked hard all their lives and saved and saved... they never liked going off and doing things... and now that Daddy is gone mama wished they had of traveled and done more things... I have always told them do not save for me, spend it now, that way I can see you enjoy it. but my mama got it honestly, my grandparents were the same way.. they had money out the ying yang.. but they lived without AC all their lives until the last couple of years of their lives.. we want to travel and have already started making plans.. I

It is just a nice feeling of accomplishment to work hard all your life to pay something off and finally get it paid off.. kind of like saving for that first car.. and to know that although we do have life insurance, our kids will not have to worry about our bills that we leave behind.. yes we do splurge every once in a while.. but we do not have to spend money to make us happy. But if we see something we want we get it.. and pay cash as we go..

Congrats on paying your home off! I remember when we paid ours off it was a wonderful feeling knowing that it was ours finally... and like you and your wife my husband and I did without a lot of material things and saved and saved.. to get to the point that we are now.. when we got our taxes back last week, we paid off our last big bill.. now all we have are our utility bills every month. my husband retires in 3 years... so this is a point we have worked hard to get to.. and we made it... again congrats....
