This is the history of the song: About The Song The words for the song "Lend Me your Hope" began as a poem written by Eloise Cole of Scottsdale, Arizona and entitled "Borrowed Hope". Eloise was abandoned by her birth parents and adopted into a fascinating but dysfunctional family. She grew up with multiple challenges that tested her ability to survive, both physically and emotionally. In 1975, Eloise married a young widower named Elwood Cole who had four teenage children. Two of the four, Mark and Dan, had a life threatening neuromuscular disease and were quadripleg

Plant A Row For The Hungry; Donate Garden Produce
ButterflyLion replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Scout groups around the country also participate: Girl Scouts from Valley Cottage School, Juniors Troop #40027 planted cucumbers, green onions, squash, and lettuces in their school courtyard for those in need. The produce will be donated to a designated group (or groups) under the “Plant a Row” organization. The girls would like to continue this tradition, by encouraging upcoming Junior scouts to plant here too, in this dedicated bed. They plan to paint the wood around the bed to earmark it for many spring plantings to come! http://www.nyacknewsandviews.com/2010/05/jh_diff_fooddrive/ -

Attacked by a Flock of Vicious Hummingbirds!

Torpor, which has been described as a type of temporary hibernation helps them survive: ... Torpor is a type of deep sleep where an animal lowers its metabolic rate by as much as 95%. By doing so, a torpid hummingbird consumes up to 50 times less energy when torpid than when awake. This lowered metabolic rate also causes a cooled body temperature. A hummingbird's night time body temperature is maintained at a hypothermic threshold that is barely sufficient to maintain life. This threshold is known as their set point and it is far below the normal daytime body temperature of 104°F or 40°C r -

Attacked by a Flock of Vicious Hummingbirds!

Some people leave their feeders out. I do wonder how they keep them from freezing. This is from a GA Hummingbird website: While we only have one specie that breeds here, we have had 11 other species that have been recorded in GA. Our resident breeder the Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrives in Georgia in early March and usually is last seen around mid-October. Prior to the Ruby-throats departure we start seeing the winter hummingbird species start to arrive. Most winter hummers show up at feeders in mid-November through December, but they could show up at anytime. These winter h -

This is marketed as being for young children. I don't know about those with more computing experience. (At one point in the description it says young child; at another point it says very young child.) Maybe someone else is more knowledgeable about what it can and cannot do. I'm not. I did see where one person suggested uninstalling the os and replacing it.
