What is your favorite TV show from your past?
ButterflyLion replied to shopthebookworm's topic in Business NEWS
I think they were filmed in the 50s and 60s. My Mom liked Perry Mason, too. After I mentioned Rawhide I remembered a lot of westerns that once were popular; Big Valley, Bonanza, Rifeman, Branded, and of course, Gunsmoke. I remember my Dad watching Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton, and Carol Burnett. -

Some other shows I remember were Boston Blackie, I Married Joan, Life of Riley, I Led Three Lives and Rawhide. Does anyone remember Queen For A Day? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggV8Uwhnmq8&feature=related -

When I was 5 this was a favorite. Later I liked Twillight Zone. I miss Monk. I've been watching episodes of Alfred Hitchcock on Hulu.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSpPyTNSlTU&feature=related -
Amazon announced that they have increased their streaming content. Does anyone use it? Since Netflix is raising their fees I want to check it out and see if it has the content I want. Hulu.com is free and has some old shows I like like Alfred Hitchcock Presents and some new shows like ABC's Switched At Birth, but I've been watching Monk on Netflix: The streaming video market just got a little more interesting. Amazon announced today that it now offers 100,000 movies and TV shows available for rent. Sadly of the 100,000 titles available only 15,000 of those titles are in high definition.

Thanks. Does it have a brand name on the package?

Has anyone read the book, GOING GREEN USING DIATOMACEOUS EARTH HOW-TO TIPS: An Easy Guide Book Using A Safer Alternative, Natural Silica Mineral, Food Grade Insecticide: Practical consumer tips, recipes, and methods by Tui Rose RN (Feb 17, 2010)?

Here's a upc from a 12 double roll package I had in the closet: 036000116366 (I think it's ok to post the code as I don't see where it says you must make a purchase.) I requested one. I'm curious about how it's made. I don't really like the choice of designs that much, but it looks like it would be easy to alter with fabric or paper to match each person's decor if I decide to use it.

It's hard to say if Cottenelle views the roll covers as a product consumers will use or if it's just a light hearted attempt to get people to focus on their product and their "Respect The Roll" promotion. That really why I posted it here on p.com/ Notice in the following article from their website it says: “Yeah, we’re looking at knocking down a few walls to extend the shelf, maybe through the kids’ room, too, if need be,” in reference to the woman's collection ... of yes, roll covers: Collector Lucy takes Respecting the Roll to a whole new level By Nolla Roper, Staff Writer

I got this in an email today from amazon.com/. This ant moat sells for $4.90. With shipping it is a little over $10. It looks a lot like the ones made from spray paint lids: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BZNWVM/ref=pe_72460_20827870_pe_epc_t7 -
Churches have youth groups with various activities. What is something he has a natural talent for that he could develop? Is he in school? Maybe a counselor there might have some insight. I would look into a muti approach including what others have suggested.

Did he look like one of these guys? Look at the end what they do at the store checkout: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7pQHoiGuA4

I like to heat a slice of Provolone cheese in a nonstick skillet---the cheese by itself. (It changes the texture and intensifies the flavor.) I heat it over low to medium heat until it melts. It's ok if it gets a little brown, but if it gets too brown it gets really crisp. (I usually stop cooking it before it gets brown.) I like it with dill pickles for a sandwich. I read about it in Vegetarian Times magazine probably 20 years ago. They suggested letting it get brown then tearing it into strips and eating it with lettuce and tomato for a vegetarian alternative to a BLT.

I noticed he mentioned using oil (probably some type of vegetable oil?) in the ant moat, too. I've always used water. -

Walter Reeves recommends an ant moat for that, too. From his website: ... Ants don’t hang out where there is no food. Be sure to wipe your counter after food preparation. Don’t leave out anything edible - particularly sweets and protein foods. This includes dog and cat food bowls. If you just can’t bear for Fluffy to go hungry for an instant, put her food bowl in a shallow tray filled with water. The water acts as a moat - and a moat is just as effective against ants as it was against King Arthur’s knights. -

Here's a video of one that uses a cap plus heavier type hardware. This is the description posted under the video: Uploaded by BubbasRedneckFilms on May 25, 2011 Tired of ants drowning in your hummingbird feeder? Build yourself a redneck ant moat. Now ants can drown in your ant moat instead. Why spend money buying it from China when you can build one at home? All you need is one plastic bottle cap, two J bolts, 2 flat washers, and a coupling nut. To prevent leaking, choose a plastic bottle cap that has a small cup inside the big cup, such as the cap of a paint stripper bottle. Just -

If you use a recycled paint can top and wire you have on hand it would cost nothing to make and only a few minutes of time. Does anyone sell the reverse umbrellas locally? -

That one is so cute. Are many that tame? I know some people have them drink while holding a cup in their hand, but I've never tried it. -

I don't understand how they get around it. Does it look like this one? (I tried to post the photo, but I got a message saying I couldn't post that type of extension. I don't know what that means.) http://www.ajc.com/living/content/living/homeandgarden/reeves/HGReeves0728a.html -
Stampington & Company, publisher of Belle Armoire and other arts and crafts magazines is having a sale on back issues; reduced to .99 and up. There is a chart to calulate shipping charges. All the issues of Belle Armoire I bought were .99. Most of the Somerset Studio issues seemed to be $1.99. I didn't look at all of the titles. Does anyone else like their publications? These are the titles that are on sale: Altered Couture, Art Doll Chronicles. Art Doll Quarterly, Art Quilting Studio, Artful Blogging. Artists' Cafe, Belle Armoire, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Beyond Paper Do

I noticed another website recommended using glue (hot glue or silicone glue) in the hole. I don't if that would be an improvement or not. If the glue made a water tight seal then you could use a cap without the inner ring; for example a shaving cream cap. -
Has anyone used this? Jeff Bennett has been involved in startups since the mid-90s, but he's hoping that his newest venture can do something a little extra for the world. Jeff is the CEO of Swap.com, a website that brings people together to swap the stuff that they have for stuff that they want. There's no bidding of any kind and no money is exchanged. You simply offer something up to trade -- anything you have lying around in your house, really -- and in exchange, you get to pick from thousands of items other users have uploaded. The goal for the company is to build the largest
