  1. I don't understand the pricing either: Art Biz Monthly $40.00 Add to cart Renewal Terms: $40.00 Monthly THIS IS A MONTHLY PCOM business membership designed for the artists and crafters whose business is so seasonal that they need at most two or three months. Those purchasing four consecutive months may appeal for an annual business membership.
  2. I just came across this website that sells an e-book on using pull-tabs from aluminum cans for making purses, clothing, etc.: I wonder how long it takes to make one? You can click on the photo of each item to enlarge it: http://www.aluminouspublishing.com/Keeping_Tabs.php
  3. I used the traps once a long time ago. I think they have them several places now like Home Depot and Lowe's. I had some small flying insects at the beginning of the summer. For those I took a bowl and put some liquid dish detergent in it and used the sprayer from the sink to make it sudsy and put a desk lamp over it during the night. The insects are attracted to the light and fall into the water.
  4. Thanks. I'll check St. Vincent's. At the consignement stores you can sometimes sell things for a percentage; cash or credit on other merchandise so that is one thing I am interested in.
  5. It depends on your computer. I have laptop connected with a long HDMI cable---which I ordered online for about $10, but some computers don't have that so you would need a different type. Also, is your TV a newer type?
  6. Where are consignment stores in our area that sell women's clothes, etc.?
  7. How long will the sale last? Will you be open Monday? What kind of purses are on sale?
  8. This is the first part of an article from wikipedia: History of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder Hyperactivity has long been part of the human condition. Sir Alexander Crichton describes "mental restlessness" in his 1798 book.[1][2] The terminology used to describe the symptoms of ADHD has gone through many changes over history including: "minimal brain damage", "minimal brain dysfunction", "learning/behavioral disabilities" and "hyperactivity". In the DSM-II (1968) it was the "Hyperkinetic Reaction of Childhood". In the DSM-III "ADD (Attention-Deficit Disorder) with or without
  9. The Mediterranean diet described in health literature is much different than what you describe: The Mediterranean Diet from Health.com Fields of sunflowers, miles of coastline, and spectacular scenery make the Mediterranean a popular travel destination. Yet, scientists are beginning to appreciate this part of the world for an entirely different reason: its diet. Dozens of studies confirm that a Mediterranean style of eating—one that is rich in fruits, vegetables, olives, and whole grains—is not only healthful for the heart but for overall well being, too. In The Mediterranean Diet, hea
  10. Surepip, here's an article about a man with a unique perspective of corn: He gets $30.00 for a corn stalk! A little ingenuity pays big dividends Living in the state of Nebraska all my life, I've seen many acres of corn. While most folks see corn as food for cattle or people, very few see it as fuel or booze. As a boy I saw my father lose our farm in the '60s, but growing things is still a good part of this town dude's life-including corn. Farmers get about three cents for each corn plant they grow. I do a tad better. Last year I broke my old record and made $30 from selling
  11. The past does not always equal the future. Corn is not the only food--and corn was all you mentioned in your other post. Sometimes crops grow where they haven't grown before. Have you seen the movie, Faith Like Potatoes? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG0VCYYwziw
  12. Here's some info on the Mediterranean diet: The most commonly understood version of the Mediterranean diet was presented, amongst others, by Dr Walter Willett of Harvard University's School of Public Health from the mid-1990s on,[5][6][7][8][9] including a book for the general public.[10] Based on "food patterns typical of Crete, much of the rest of Greece, and southern Italy in the early 1960s", this diet, in addition to "regular physical activity," emphasizes "abundant plant foods, fresh fruit as the typical daily dessert, olive oil as the principal source of fat, dairy products (princip
  13. I don't know what you mean as Pekes are able to breed naturally.
  14. There's no doubt that medications are being over-prescribed, but the movie focuses on food. It describes the history behind the China study: ... "After a long career in research and policy-making, I have decided to step 'out of the system'. I have decided to disclose why Americans are so confused," said Dr. Campbell. "As a taxpayer who foots the bill for research and health policy in America, you deserve to know that many of the common notions you have been told about food, health and disease are wrong." "I propose to do nothing less than redefine what we think of as good nutrition. Y
  15. From what you said breeding has created an unnatural body that restricts natural movements.
  16. I don't how you would conclude that. Much of the world's population eat a plant based diet and don't depend on corn to survive.
  17. Life expectancy is only a small part of a much bigger picture. Serious health problems are showing up at younger ages. Many people are developing so many medical conditions that they feel bad for however long they live. That was the case of this man who is featured in the film: In addition to following the paths of these two pioneering scientists, the film’s real life case studies are equally powerful and persuasive. One man, Joey Aucoin, comes to the study with high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. At risk for heart attack and stroke, he was taking nine pills and two injections every
  18. MrsB, I've never watched it. I've heard it mentioned before. Netflix has it for streaming. I just put it in my queue. Here's the trailer for anyone who's interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eKYyD14d_0
  19. I'm watching this now. Netflix has it for streaming. It's interesting. So far it's shown the history of what Americans eat, changes over the years, etc. I want to see what happens with the people they interviewed that had significant health problems and how they do when they make changes.
  20. Which style is $250? This one looks like a medium size. It is $99.95: http://www.greenheartshop.org/escama-socorro-pop-tab-bag.html
  21. Here's a link to their website. This page shows some vintage fashions made from poptops in the 70s using tabs that came off the cans. Scroll down to see the different style bags the company sells: http://www.escamastudio.com/old_school.html
  22. Have any of you seen these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0CdUpVdbqo
  23. I noticed that You Tube has some Route 66 episodes posted in parts. Does anyone remember the one about a mermaid? From TV.com/: Episode Summary The boys get jobs at the Weeki Wachee theme park in Florida. The park show features girls dressed as mermaids performing underwater. A shy girl Elissa emerges from the water and after demonstrating amazing underwater swimming talent is hired for the show. She talks about "coming from the sea" and implies that she is a real mermaid. Skeptical Tod falls for her but assumes that she just wants publicity to launch a movie career. Linc has a mo
