  1. I've been noticing some really great looking crafts posted online. These on pinterest are made from cardboard. Some use recycled cereal boxes: http://pinterest.com/deedeej/card-board/ Have you seen any craft projects that caught your eye? Join Georgia Crafters if you're interested in getting together with other crafters online or in person: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GeorgiaCrafters
  2. Praying for you. How are you today? How damaged was your car? Are they providing you with a rental car? Here is a link to a website where you can read passages from the Bible. Click on the microphone in the gray bar and it will read them out loud to you. I have it set on Psalm 91 but you can change it to any verses that you believe would comfort you: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+91&version=NIV Here is Psalm 23. You can also can change translations, if you would like: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+23&version=KJV
  3. This article says it's a probable cause hearing and that the parents are expected to be on the witness stand this afternoon: http://www.ajc.com/news/news/paulding-abuse-case-comers-make-court-appearance/nSS9z/
  4. What are the ingredients? Some household products aren't healthy to be around.
  5. Has anyone surfaced that knew him when he was younger? Maybe teachers or former neighbors? I was wondering about his condition then ...
  6. Thanks. The posts in the other thread would leave anyone wondering ...
  7. Vegan? Sounds good. Surepip, if we're dreaming we might as well think big. I said veg though because I was think vegan or vegetarian. Just a restaurant that served more meatless dishes would be a great thing for this area. You could serve salads made fresh using ingredients you grow in your garden ...
  8. Has anyone see this documentary, Hungry For Change? I know it covers a lot about white sugar, aspartame, MSG, etc. They have promotion now where anyone can watch it free through Saturday: http://www.hungryforchange.tv/book-free-screening
  9. Surepip, in my dreams you become veg and open a restaurant in Hiram ... It would great if someone did. A girl can dream can't she?
  10. I mentioned one of my favorites, Then Came Bronson, in another thread. I remember watching Route 66 when it was shown in reruns several years after it was on originally and Alfred Hitchcock and Twilight Zone.
  11. Someone mentioned her in another thread on here a day or two ago. One member said she had been told that the reason she stood at the intersection of Hwy 92 and 278 was that she had had a child die in an accident there. Another member said that wasn't true.
  12. Has anyone been found that knew him when he was younger? Did he go to public shool then? (I was wondering if there were any teachers that might remember him and if he showed signs of neglect at a younger age?)
  13. When and how did that happen? How old was her child?
  14. I agree. Stress is associated with just about any health problem and if one is eliminated often the person's next weakest link will develop a condition. There are some promising developments regarding energy medicine involving releasing the body's energy and promoting a naturally healthy state.
  15. When did that change? I know you posted in a reply to me before that you liked to keep things "light." (I believe that was the word you used.)
  16. I did think about the reality of someone wanting people to be sick vs. healthy---and it's sad. New medications and vaccines require major testing before being approved so it's not likely that there wouldn't be some time to prepare. You're saying that overnight people would be out of jobs in the medical industry---without warning? If they do find a cure for anything it will be newsworthy because how often does the industry offer cures vs. treatment?
  17. If people were healthier and spent less on treating medical problems they would have more money to spend on other things. The illness industry could adjust over time. Nowdays it's not unusual to switch careers even multiple times during a lifetime. I can't imagine encouraging poor health as your post seems to do.
  18. I have a steamer that fits in a large pan that I use on top of the stove. I wonder if I steamed them first for a few minutes and then roasted them in the oven how that would work?
  19. I read that on I Love Lucy they weren't allowed to use the word pregnant. They said expecting. And on the Dick Van Dyke Show and other shows of that era they only showed husbands and wives having twin beds. Things started changing pretty quickly though.
  20. A lot of people take melatonin. I find it helps but I'd like to find something natural that is stronger. I sometimes use Sleepytime herbal tea---mainly in colder weather. I've taken Ambien and found it effective with just about a third of a tablet. I just break off a small piece. I'd like to find a natural alternative, too though.
  21. Very well said. Much research is showing how Americans' lifestyles in the last 50 years or so have grown towards less depth in relationships and more isolation---and have produced more stress and less health.
  22. The Postman, those are all great! Thanks for sharing! I believe the first one is the one I was trying to remember.
  23. Never underestimate the power of kind words or encouragement! Thanks to everyone who contributes those! I know there is a quote something along the lines of a burden shared is halved and a joy shared is doubled. Does anyone know the one I'm talking about? Anyway, know kindness is worthwhile and is appreciated.
  24. Dr. Park mentioned new models that have been designed that will be even more compact and easier to carry when traveling. What about the possibility of the electricity being off for an extended length of time, i.e., an ice storm in winter. Does anyone have a power source that will run their CPAP?
  25. I was sad when I learned about it. I know he will be missed by his family and many others in the community.
