  1. So had the sports coat that the pen was in been expensive when it was new?
  2. I saw where you have plans for making your granddaughter a play kitchen. In fact I had a dream last night about searching for a kitchen faucet we replaced probably 7 or 8 years ago ... I was thinking it could have been used for that.
  3. Acccording to their website they minister to hurting people with addictions and other life issues, too. I enjoyed this video and thought someone else might, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgUL2ACdJ0E
  4. I pray that God will give your Dad strength beyond what is expected and that all will recognize it as His doing and also peace for all of you. Jesus said he would send the Holy Spirit to comfort and counsel us.
  5. Reformers Unanimous is free and meets around the country and also in foreign countries. They have a toll free addiction help line (1-866-733-6768) and various resources. Here are the locations that were listed when I put in a Hiram zipcode: White Oak Springs Baptist Church Director Cell: (770) 362-4503 Phone: (770) 445-7382 Email: rfulton@wosbc.com Website: http://www.wosbc.com 139 White Oak Church Road Dallas, GA 30157 9.916 miles Foundation Baptist Church Director Cell: (770)941-8920 Phone: (678) 592-4069 Website: http://www.foundationbc.org
  6. You say "I'm so very tired of being sad." Suicide is a desperate act. Do you think your sister may have wanted to escape unrelenting pain, too?
  7. I would call it a troubled path. I really don't think it is "easy" for those who take it. It is a path often paved with tears, pain and torment; distorted thoughts, isolation, loneliness, etc.
  8. Most people that commit suicide are suffering from a tremendous amount of emotional and/or physical pain. Why do you say he had a great personal life? You said he killed himself on Monday and wasn't found until almost a week later.
  9. I don't know anything about these swaps. but why so many? Is this an annual thing? If so, maybe you could get some tips and insight from what was made for previous years?
  10. Thanks. This afternoon I was looking for some info and came across that website. Then when I came back her I saw that you had mentioned that group.
  11. I am doing some research for someone who needs a hemorrhoidectomy. Are there any good places locally for this? The following post is by someone who has had the operation and recommends a certain type of surgery: http://www.steadyhealth.com/Would_you_have_hemorrhoidectomy__AGAIN__t136355.html
  12. It's A Wonderful Life. A lot of funny scenes from A Christmas Story come to mind like when the Dad received the "major award" from one of his puzzle contests and later when it was broken he buried it beside the garage, also when Raphie was using his decoder to write the message from the radio show ...
  13. I do wish it had stayed Thanksgiving Day---and not what some call it: (the name of a bird not everyone eats) Day. I'm thankful I've only heard it called that a couple of times this year.
  14. Here is what the Oxford Dictionaries website says. Are you saying Thanksgiving is a dated holiday belonging to "ordinary" people? Definition of vulgar adjective 1 lacking sophistication or good taste: a vulgar check suit 2 making explicit and offensive reference to sex or bodily functions; coarse and rude: a vulgar joke 3 dated characteristic of or belonging to ordinary people.
  15. I read the following at the link you posted. I don't know their staff. Was he the senior pastor or something else? It is with deep sorrow and hurt that we have to tell you that our beloved brother Andrew Pray has passed away on November 21st. He was involved in a biking accident and was stuck by a vehicle today. That is all that we know at the moment ...
  16. No. She told me not to post what I think. Now you're telling me what to do, too. Are you laughing yet? It's really pretty funny. Edited to add: It's also somewhat sad.
  17. Raclay was the one that wanted to silence another member's opinion. What did I say to you? "That's your choice." I've kept a journal before and this is not one ... But I now choose to focus on other things rather than explain or post further in this thread ...
  18. And you can post what you did but someone that thinks differently shouldn't post? According to the owner of this site no member has the authority to tell another member what he or she can or cannot post.
  19. That sounds a lot like what some kids say about drugs, cheating, etc. (and many adults, too): "It's only fill in the blank."
  20. That's your choice. It's also been said that an unguarded strength is a double weakness.
  21. It reminds me of the expression, "Garbage in, garbage out." If anyone is interested they can also google "power of the tongue." I believe it is the reflection of a troubled society. If someone hears certain words from an early age it is recorded in the subconscious and from there ...
  22. I saw some items mentioned in a book that come in dry powdered form that can be used as a substitute for milk in recipes. Nutquik is made from almonds. Darifree is potato based. She also named Tofu White and said that powdered baby formulas that are soy based or corn based could be used. Has anyone used any? Are they available locally?
  23. I went this afternoon. Seed is 40% off and other items are 30% off. I bought one thing---a "Fancy HummZinger" hummingbird feeder. It is easier to clean than the type with a tube. It is also made in the USA and has a Lifetime Guarantee. With tax the discounted total was $22.48. They have some items that would make nice gifts. I bought this for myself though. AustinPlantation, thanks for posting the sale info.
  24. Probably so. With the links I posted you can see the photos on each page pretty well but the words (instructions for the projects) aren't clear enough to read.
  25. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could find clip on earrings for arts and crafts projects? I've seen bags of costume jewelry (mostly beads) and some individual pieces at the Good Will store in Hiram but their selection and prices don't seem that good to me. I know ebay has them, too, but I was hoping maybe somewhere locally might have some ...
