  1. Thanks but I don't have any TV service. I canceled cable a couple of years ago and just use the internet. I'll check weather.com/ or another website. Thanks.
  2. It's good that you and others are cleaning it up but I don't understand why anyone throws anything out. Has it always been like this? Years ago there were campaigns, i.e. "Don't Be A Litterbug." Does anyone hear anything along those lines anymore? Are kids taught not to litter? It would be great if youth groups like scouts, etc. got involved in promoting a litter free community.
  3. I saw the following quote from a review at amazon.com/ I started reading it online at google books. I haven't checked out the website yet.
  4. Thanks to all of you. I'll be checking back.
  5. I found this. It does cost Georgia millions of dollars and more: Clean Community Challenge Get involved in litter prevention in your community! Litter is a problem faced by all Georgia communities, large and small, rural and urban. Many people don't realize how bad litter is in their community until it is brought to their attention. But litter costs you in many ways. •It costs you money. Georgia communities spend millions of dollars every year to clean up litter. The Georgia Department of Transportation alone spends more than $14 million a year just on state roads. Spending mo
  6. It is cleaned up from time to time but it only takes a little while for it to becomed severely littered again. The problem goes beyond the surface and can't be measured only in the dollars and cents spent or not spent to clean it up---over and over again ...
  7. Here's anti-litterbug message from Maryland. Does Georgia have any kind of anti-litter campaign? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sY66lKHppo
  8. Do you have an explanation for such a large amount of litter in the County? Has it always been this way? I started a thread about it because if the area were cleaner (without all this litter) it would help build a healthier more positive foundation for much more: http://paulding.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=active
  9. I have never seen so much litter anywhere I've lived before moving to Paulding County! I drove down Mein Mitchell road to Kroger on Ridge Road and there was so many fast food cups, etc., etc. Who is throwing it out? Why would anyone do such a thing? What can be done about it? And for anyone who wants to bring jobs to the county this makes a really bad impresssion. It would be so simple to keep the area clean---just don't throw things out that belong in a trash can!
  10. Someone was asking about local activities so I thought this might be of interest. Note that this thread was started almost a year ago so there could have been some changes in some of the groups mentioned since then.
  11. Many areas do have more people doing things together. I've searched at http://www.meetup.com/ and found a lot if you want to drive app. 30 miles or more one way ...
  12. Have any of you read any of the Trigger Point Therapy books? I noticed this workbook at Amazon: The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief, Second Edition Clair Davies (Author) Amber Davies (Author), David G. Simons (Author) 4.7 out of 5 stars See all reviews (456 customer reviews) Trigger point therapy is one of the most intriguing and fastest-growing bodywork styles in the world. Medical doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists are all beginning to use this technique to relieve formerly undiagnosable muscle and
  13. The description says it includes "16 interchangeable soft rubber tipped treatment digits of various sizes." He has several videos and also talks about the importance of stretching after applying the pressure.
  14. Has anyone used this? I have a lot of deep painful sore spots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4PHaGSc3ME
  15. I saw this article this morning: ....WASHINGTON (AP) — Buying your own health insurance will never be the same. This fall, new insurance markets called exchanges will open in each state, marking the long-awaited and much-debated debut of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. The goal is quality coverage for millions of uninsured people in the United States. What the reality will look like is anybody's guess — from bureaucracy, confusion and indifference to seamless service and satisfied customers. Exchanges will offer individuals and their families a choice of priva
  16. Do you have an all vegetable plate? Do you have carry out? What vegetables don't have meat and/or meat based boullion added?
  17. According to this article it happens on Long Island, too: The Legend of Milk, Bread and Snow . January 16, 2013 Posted by Michele It’s January, which means at some point soon, there will be a prediction of snow. And with that prediction of snow — whether it be two inches or a foot — will come the ensuing panic on Long Island. I know, we live in the Northeast; you’d think we’d be used to it. But no, there are still plenty of people here who go into EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM mode when any snow is forecast. It’s the same thing every winter. Local news start
  18. When you click on the image does it go to a website that gives you any clues about the company that made it, etc.?
  19. Where did you get the pic you posted? What are the must haves? What is it about those you've seen that you don't like?
  20. Here's a link to Google images for L shaped desks. Look how many have both sections the same height: https://www.google.com/search?q=L+shaped+desk&hl=en&tbo=d&rlz=1T4ADRA_enUS458US463&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Q-wCUfiSDIS09QTlq4CQAQ&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAA&biw=1366&bih=561
  21. If you search L shaped desk at amazon lots and lots of choices come up. I know there's an office furniture dealer that advertised on Craigs List but I've never been there so I don't know if they would have anything like you're looking for or not. Google L shaped desk and choose images or shopping.
  22. My Paulding-Times always comes in the mail. I think that's a different Paulding newspaper that is thrown out. I guess it depends on what your interests are that determines what "litter" is. I think you are referring to the Paulding Neighbor. They recently had an article about a local dog rescue group winning a $1000 award which to me was of interest ...
  23. You mentioned Theraflu in the video. This is from their website: Novartis OTC is conducting maintenance and improvements at our Lincoln, Nebraska facility, which manufactures Theraflu®. As a result, we are experiencing a supply disruption at some retailers and Theraflu® may be temporarily unavailable. We are working as quickly as we can to return these products back on to store shelves. We ask that you check back periodically for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you, and appreciate your patience and loyalty. http://www.theraflu.com/where-to-buy/index.shtm
  24. I've read some of the articles on plants written by local Master Gardeners before but haven't found time to look at it much lately.
