Oh, by the way, when she's not laying on shoes, here's what she's doing.... It must be nice to be 80 (est) and lay around like this and have people feed you meds and grapes. lol

You can vote once a day, so keep the link. wink wink. Sorry - I'm begging again. If anyone had told me that one day my dogs would have health care but I couldn't afford it for myself, I'd have gone with Hampsters. LOL Seriously, there's tons of dogs in there. I doubt she stands a real chance of winning anything, but hey, it's like the lottery - "you can't win if you don't play", right?

Thanks. She's a very expressive dog. And thanks for the vote. I've noticed that so far 19 people have read it but only two have voted so far.. ah-hem. I normally wouldn't troll for the votes, but hey, I now have three dogs that are 12. Two are on arthritis pills and the other is on anti-seizure meds. We're talking $$$ to keep these things going, but I'm not going to put them to sleep just 'cause they're getting old (though I'm sure someone will knock me off once I do. LOL). I figured if I win some money on this, at least it'll pay for the pills for them. <G>

Ok, so there's a cute dog contest going on online. There are cash prizes involved. I entered one of my dogs, "Lucy", a 12 year old Shepherd/mix into the thing. The fact is, her arthritis pills are now up to around $60.00 per month (hey, she's 80 in human years, after all), but this is a way for her to earn her keep and pay me back some because this is adding up. If anyone wants to vote for her, click on this link and click the button to vote underneath her photo: LINK Note that due to the popularity of the site, it might take a while to load or give an error - just keep trying.

Set your weather Radio before you go to sleep!

As these five were dancing and lip-syncing, you could just about read their minds.... "Oh dead geez, this is what I'm actually doing for a living. Kill me nowwwwwwww". -
Maybe I missed an earlier post, but didn't see one when I looked. I know for many the prospect of giving a Clinton credit for anyone on here is a sin as well, but regardless, I thought this was surprising news today: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_nkorea_journalists_held Give the man a point for trying. Maybe next time the, "I wanna be like my sister" chick will be smart and stay off the boarders, 'cause I'd have given her the, "Your butt 'aint gonna be saved again" speech in the plane on the way home.

Many years ago in the early 80s when I first moved here, I had a coworker who had AIDS, and this was back when it was the most severe strain that killed people quickly, with no "real" treatments out there for it. He was supposedly on a national news show, because what happened is that he got it, got VERY sick from it and almost died, then suddenly improved. A few weeks later his blood showed no signs of it at all, and doctors came from all over to study his blood samples to try to figure out what was in there that effectively killed the virus. Well, he admitted to folks he was AC/DC (liked

Set your weather Radio before you go to sleep!

When I saw weather earlier this early afternoon they made no mention of severe storms... on a "chance" in the morning. Now - this. Isn't it funny when Glen Burns is right about something, the FIRST thing he says on his report the next day is.. "See.. just like we told you...!", yet when something comes up they miss, they never say a word. -
Does anyone know of anyplace on the West Metro side that sells do-it-yourself home security type equipment? Like alarms, window alarms, etc. I use Brinks for the main stuff, but it would cost $$$$ to wire up everything in the house and want to supplement the gaps with my own (cheaper) stuff.

Too bad it wasn't the cyclist who hit the pavement. Sorry - call me an ass, but I'm a strong believer that sometimes stupid people need to be hurt very badly to learn a lesson.

Laptop $300 at the Wally World at 8am Sunday

Costco at Town Center now has the new Acer Netbook model that has the 11.5 inch screen. Make a BIG viewing difference over the old 8" and even newer 10" screen models. It's $349.00. Only a 3 cell battery though, so probably 2 or so hours of battery life. When I was at Best Buy a couple of weekends ago they had a Gateway branded netbook with an 11" screen, 2 gigs of RAM (1 gig more than most netbooks have), and I think a 6 cell battery in the $349 range, but they only had one so it's probably gone by now. DDR3 ram does make a difference. I had bought a HP computer a few months ago t -
I wonder what kind of video they're going to do when she gives birth to her first child?

Fired by the town after marrying an adult film star
greg30127 replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I hope he sues them for everything they have and they have to shut the town down. Yes, really. This kind of crap ticks me off. Would I marry a porn star? Hell no. But the fact is, the council even admitted the man did a very good job at his post. They thought he was a good employee and he did his job well. There are no laws whatsoever that say it's illegal to hold a public post and be married to an adult film actor/actress. Her job in no way had an effect apparently on his work ability as per what was said earlier, they admitted he did fine. So it boils down to an old South lynch -
Well, it sounds like you're talking about when the receiver is powered ON though. I'm talking about when you press the power button and the receiver is technically OFF, whether it still gets hot or not. I have the receiver/DVR in the living room, and actually it works ok. I leave it off when I'm at work, and when using it, it doesn't get super hot. The one I'm talking about is the regular non-DVR HD receiver that's in the bedroom getting really hot when it's supposedly OFF (power light shows off, too). Was just wondering if that's normal or not. Hate it when they say you're supp

I just upgraded my dish network from regular to HD programing. They had to switch the dish and receiver with a new HD receiver. Ok, my old standard receiver was barely "warm" when it was turned off. As in, it was still plugged in so it got a trickle-charge of power to keep it's settings, but the power button on it was off until I was watching TV. I came home today after this upgrade and even though the new HD receiver had been turned off all day, it was what I would call "very warm" on top when I touched it. Again, with the power off all day. I called Dish tech support (cough),

Anyone having phone line and/or DSL problems ?
greg30127 replied to greg30127's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I live and work in the Powder Springs area. AT&T showed up as we were leaving work and I think there was a problem with the lines outside. Seemed to fix the phone thing at least. Not sure about the DSL. My DSL has been working fine tonight, though. No construction in the area. -
Last night my AT&T DSL went down late, and after an hour hadn't come back up, so I went to bed. Today at the office right after lunch, both of our business lines started doing crazy stuff. Calls coming in are showing up on our caller ID but our phones aren't ringing, and when you dial out, you get TWO dial tones like both lines are crossed and active when dialed, then you get either a second connection at the same time as the first, or an annoying and loud error beeping. Our business DSL is also going on and off a lot. It's not our actual phones - I checked, so it's in the lines.

Do they have a web site about it?

The new iPhone 3Gs does have video recording capability. They upgraded the camera from a 2 megapixel to a 3 megapixel with autofocus, and added video ability with limited editing ability in it, which is what a lot of folks have been raving about. The battery life was supposed to have been improved, but some of the early reports have said, "not by much". There is again, also that heating issue that some folks are now starting to report. Links about problems: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/06/overheating-iphones/ http://www.geek.com/articles/apple/iphone-...r-some-2009076/

I have a LG Dare through Verizon and am happy with it. Touch screen, 3MP camera, video.. etc. VERY long battery life under normal use, etc. You might want to do a google search on "iphone complaints" or something similar, because since the new iphone 3G came out, quite a few articles have appeared regarding problems with some of them overheating, not connecting to the web right, etc.

Well, they laughed at Susan Boyle too, until they heard her sing. The thing is, with shows like this, there's a fair amount of people who show up who are not serious and do really dumb stuff on stage. I think that even though this guy appears "simple", he's still got a brain, and realizes that once you stand up on stage in a large city and start talking about being a "chicken catcher", that people are going to laugh. If he were back home in Mayfield, Kentucky and they had a talent show and a guy got up on stage and said he liked to listen to opera and collect stamps, the folks there wo

Maybe I missed the post, but since a number of people on here keep up with the show "America's Got Talent" so much, I'd have figured you all would have seen this guy... if the video won't play because it's disabled, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzul5rxd-i8 At first I thought he was putting on the yeehaw bit somewhat just to put on a show on stage, but once I found his youtube channel and looked up Mayfield on the map I figure he's for real. They say he's a "Susan Boyle", and I don't think I'd go that far, but the guy can sing. Might turn out to be one of t
