Yes! Yes! I agree with Chemmie!

Archangel:
Good answer. That clarifies things nicely.

Thanks for filling us in on that. I always wondered about it myself. Kind of like when people come in my place of business, find something w/o a price and then say, "This must be free!" Also, does it bug you when people slow down to about 44mph when they see you in their rearview mirror? I always do that, but I try to be inconspicuous about it, like not slamming on my brakes.

Me too!

Yeah, yeah, you mean kinda like male gymnasts?

In Pointy's defense, I actually got to see some of the Tour de France one year and I have to say, when you see it live it really is amazing watching those guys- it ain't the ACC, but impressive nonetheless.

We live in Blue Ridge Park, off Paris Rd. between 278 and Bus. 6- the City of Dallas. I LOVE the convenience of it- nothing is more than 5 min. away.

Ellen, your hair looks great! I will anxiously await the chow-chow recipe as I wade through the pickles. Good question, Calhounian, I might have made the same mistake myself.

West Metro gave me an idea: If you want, please post thanks, wishes for a great retirement to Tom and Juanita McDonald, and memorable experiences from the Plaza Theatre here or on the "Plaza Theatre officially closed..." thread. In a week or so I will print them out and send them along to them. Let's show them how much we loved and appreciated them- and how they will be missed!

Wow. I didn't know anybody still canned, Ellen. Do you remember when the women all used to go up to the Jr.High in the summertime? I think they had some sort of industrial operation set up there or something. I know my Granny would always take her beans and tomatoes. I am tempted to try these pickles, if I knew I could do it without the jars exploding- that happened to my mother once and she hasn't been near a Mason jar since! I do love Bread & Butter pickles, though and EVERYBODY wants to give me cucumbers now. I'd really like some Chow-Chow, too. Got a recipe for that?

Assuming there will be a glut of posts immediately following the election, I vote for high noon on July 21.

Thank You Cherry,
My husband and I both work retail. We are printing those for future reference!

And don't forget his plastic hair and really shiny forehead...

College basketball is the ONLY sport I follow, and as much as I HATE Duke, I'd hate to see Coach K leave. I love to hate him and all his cocky players! I just don't think he would necessarily fit in w/the pros, plus why would he want to give up all his acclaim and status?

Yeah, but I bet it won't be $5.00 and it sure won't have Mr. Tom behind the Pepsi fountain.

We will say a rosary intention for Mike and his family. I, too, am a cancer survivor.

OMG, you made my day with that avatar! Original SNL (Radner, Belushi, Morris, Chase, Curtin, Ackroyd) is still the funniest of all time. Remember "Land Sharks," "No, Coke. Pepsi," "Samurai ______," and "Two Wild & Crazy Guys." Wow. I miss them, too...
-
Cool! So, next question: Do ya'll look like Jane Curtin & Dan Ackroyd?
-
s & r cone (anybody ever call you guys "the coneheads?):
And I thought "archangelinga" and I were the only ones who did that!

France's Independence Day, Bastille Day, is July 14...if anyone cares.

Thank you, Meltid. I was just thinking to myself how ironic it is that a cat fight between two members is getting more posts than the passings of two respected members of the community.
