I hate what Michael Vick did. I had dreams of him being Joe Thiesman sacked by Lawrence Taylor. However, he served his prison term and has kept out of trouble. Would people prefer he be unable to make a living and continue to to be involved in criminal activity? So, I think he deserves a second chance but if he f***s up, I have no problem seeing his ass locked in jail.

I'm teaching a literature class this year that is so disruptive they are a problem for every teacher. This group of kids are basically one class that travels together in the 8th grade. There are 5-6 kids who are frequent discipline problems for all teachers. If you have a couple of behavior problems, you can isolate them. However, when almost a third of your class is disruptive, it's damn near impossible to teach.

Part of the problem is kids have no fear of authority anymore. The students know they're in charge and administration reinforces that idea by refusing to handle discipline. Because of this, it makes discipline difficult for teachers.

Punishment is supposed to be unpleasant and teachers have better things to do than punish kids.

You wore them out and they needed to rest; you keep them busy.

When I said parents should be responsible for their child's behavior, it was not directed toward you, just a general statement. Having morning bus duty, I see how poorly behaved kids are and am amazed there aren't more accidents.

What if these 2 kids were so disruptive that she couldn't drive and jeopardized the safety of the entire bus? Were these 2 kids fighting? The lady may have been unstable but perhaps parents need to be held responsible for the behavior of their children. If people are hurt on a bus because kids misbehave, can parents of the injured party sue the parents of the offending child?
