I have a friend from the South who took a trip to N.Y. and she said that people were a lot nicer than she thought they would be. However, I was in Georgia 4 days when I started teaching at my first school and made the mistake of having my students sit at the wrong table in the cafeteria. I don't think all liberals are the same, just like all conservatives aren't the same. I grew up in a time before kids were coddled and babied and teachers and principals understood that kids will be kids.
