  1. Thank you Pubby. I have discussed this with Mike and have given Whitey the correct info on what Mike really said. I do not intend to put a video that does not belong to me on the net. If Whitey wants to speak to Mike personally all he has to do is call him. He is always open to answering questions. I did not say I did not believe the article existed. I said it was a misquote and it is. How many times do I have to say that I was there. I think you may be mistaken about the airport being in Dugan's district too. I think that may be Heath's. It helps to get your facts straight when
  2. I would like a link to this article so that I know what was reported. can you supply that?
  3. It does not belong to me and I am not sure my friend wants to share it. I agree that Mike should demand a retraction.
  4. He said he was misquoted. I know what he said. I was there and just to be sure we checked the video. The reporter should correct the story. No, I won't play it. If you can't take my word then you are not the man I think you are. The video is not mine.
  5. You are mistaken about what Senator Dugan said. This is what he actually said: He mentioned rail, Norfolk Southern, and MARTA. He said MARTA was inconvenient and that HE didn't take it because HE couldn't get anywhere on it. He said that in the future we may want to look at some type of rail service because we'll run out of places to build roads. There is a video that we had access to and were able to review what he actually said. Now you have the true story Whitey! Oh, and the Chamber did not put it on. Senator Dugan put it together so he could address any concerns or questions his
  6. I certainly hope the new Superintendent will make changes. I am with Fox on the career path. Not on board with some of the other things Barge has done. In case anyone is interested here is a list of the announced Candidates: Kira Willis, I believe she is a former teacher. Nancy Jester, DeKalb County School Board Member and actuarial consultant Fitz Johnson, defense contractor, retired army officer, and community activist Mark Schultz, Bartow County School Board Member, pharmaceutical sales executive, and USMC veteran Richard Woods, retired school administrator, ex-teac
  7. You don't owe anyone an explanation!
  8. Oops. I did not look closely enough at the date. I voted for Carter the first time and for Reagan the second time Carter ran.
  9. Me too. I lived to regret that vote and I am happy to say that I saw the light too!
  10. I would leave it to the folks involved to defend their character. They know how to hire lawyers as well as anyone. Some of the things being said appall me but as I said I am not taking sides.
  11. I have to say that just because you may not be on the same side of this issue it is not enough reason to look into personal matters of those with opposing views. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would hate to feel threatened about voicing which side I am on. I have decided to stay out of it and for good reason.
  12. 2nd job or another potato field might be in order. You do what is necessary to feed your family but you should not expect to be paid more than the job is worth.
  13. Better them than the President and those who follow him. He has been credited with the biggest lie of the year! Conservatives are much better at managing the economy and I believe it is now a proven fact.
  14. I looked up the minimum wage for Georgia and unless I misread the info Georgia is not below the Federal rate. It is exactly the same ($7.25 per Hr.). My link http://money.cnn.com/interactive/pf/state-minimum-wage/ I did find other charts and they had less.
  15. No wonder Florida has the 3rd highest population growth in the USA. I would not live in California because of the cost of living among other things. I expect most of the states who raised the MW have a high cost of living. The OP's article also listed the minimum wage increases. On Jan. 1, the minimum wage in 13 states will increase to these amounts: Arizona: $7.90 Colorado: $8.00 Connecticut: $8.70 Florida: $7.93 Missouri: $7.50 Montana: $7.90 New Jersey: $8.25 New York: $8.00 Ohio: $7.95 Oregon: $9.10 Rhode Island: $8.00 Vermont: $8.73
  16. Happened to my daughter one Christmas. She had a live tree. They put the tree outside and she was better right away.
  17. For a moment there I thought you were speaking of Obama but his policies have hurt everyone not just the poor. You misrepresent the Republicans and I know you will never change your mind.
  18. I agree with Dana. Kids lost out when you left. Glad you are happy where you are Adults need good teachers too. Always thought I would like for my grandkids to be in your classroom. Hope you stick around and share some of your thoughts on p.com.
  19. When the lottery was voted on by the people it was designed so that it paid for the Hope Scholarship and then it was expanded to fund Georgia Pre-K Programs. It can't be used for anything else.
  20. I think teaching a work ethic is a great idea. Kids seem to miss that a lot these days. I don't think Jack's idea about how to do it is a very good one. He stepped in it with that statement. BTW feelip Jack and his wife worked hard for his education it was not paid for by daddy. PT the Lottery pays for the Hope Scholarship and Georgia Pre-K Program and nothing else.
  21. Obama has altered the Law 14 times without Congressional approval. Who knows what he will do with it next.
