  1. Well, excuse me for voicing an opinion! Obviously you think you know these guys better than I do. BTW I never mentioned Maxwell.
  2. I think you would need to call him to get his response. I would not want to speak for him. I do know he does not advocate that Marta should come into Paulding. As I recall he named several things including more roads as forms of transportation and said that this region would have to make some choices about how to address the transportation issues.
  3. He did not change his mind. What he said at the Town Hall meeting was not clearly stated. He does not support Marta coming into Paulding. I do think he is a man of his word.
  4. Dugan is not in favor of bringing Marta into Paulding.
  5. Qualifying is in March with Primaries on May 20th and to my knowledge no one has said anything about running against Maxwell. I heard David does not intend to stand for office again. I don't know if it is true or not.
  6. Maybe this has something to do with it LPPT. They know it is bad! http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/obama-administration-relaxes-rules-of-health-care-law-four-days-before-deadline/2013/12/19/81bc3132-690b-11e3-8b5b-a77187b716a3_story.html The Obama administration on Thursday night significantly relaxed the rules of the federal health-care law for millions of consumers whose individual insurance policies have been canceled, saying they can buy bare-bones plans or entirely avoid a requirement that most Americans have health coverage.
  7. Thought the speed limit through Hiram was 45. It changes past Bill Carruth headed into Hiram doesn't it. The Hiram officers do pay attention. At least that is what I hear from folks who got tickets.
  8. Funny, I read a report that the family is thinking they need to move on. They have been praying about it.
  9. Whitey, honestly I don't think he was talking about Marta. Train does not always equal Marta. Commuter trains have worked for folks in places like Connecticut for years. That is what I thought Mike was talking about but I will know the answer in the next few days.
  10. I don't agree with the Marta idea either! I was at that Town Hall meeting and I recall Mike speaking of rail transportation but I don't recall him speaking of Marta.

This is what Phil Gingrey had to say: "The budget compromise passed by the House and Senate is an absolute disgrace. Rather than get serious about reforming the major drivers of our debt, this budget instead slashes veteran benefits by $6 billion. These warriors are the only group of individuals who deserve the full support of our government. Shame on the politicians who pat themselves on the back, while cutting our troops' benefits."

They should not have voted for cloture and then capped it off with yes votes. Their grandstanding might be a little more effective.

I posted an article about Senator Sessions efforts earlier in this thread. I wish there were more like him.
  14. Pubby, I am not taking sides in this but I can say that although Whitey and I often find ourselves on opposite sides I have always respected him and his opinion. He has always supported p.com and YOU! Before friends tear each other up over this issue they need to remember things like that. Take a deep breath and Think folks!

You can't talk about this vote without bringing politics into it. IT IS POLITICS! The Democrats chose to give welfare to illegals rather than give benefits to our military. You can read about that vote here: http://nation.foxnews.com/2013/12/18/senate-dems-side-illegal-immigrants-over-veterans

How do you know Ryan did it?

You are right. Ryan should have stood up even if it meant another government shutdown. We know who got blamed for the last one. The Republicans even though they did not shut it down. Hate to tell you but the Senate is Democrat controlled and I have no doubt it will pass there. All of the Georgia delegation voted for it with the exception of Congressmen Gingrey, Broun, and Kingston.
  18. It appears to be the teacher's word against the student's. If he did what she said he did I do believe it would fall under sexual harassment. She should never have to be in the classroom with him again. Like I said before I am glad I did not have to be the judge in this case.
  19. I believe you are right. This case is expected to go to the Supreme Court before all is said and done. 2nd Judge seems to question NSA right to phone records. http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2013/11/22/second-federal-judge-skeptical-about-legal-case-for-nsa-phone-record-collection
  20. Some things are better left unsaid. I am the first who should remember that. Course that is just my opinion too. I am saddened when friends disagree to the extent that bridges are burned which can never be rebuilt. Some things are just not worth it.
  21. I agree with this. Also agree it is a hard one to judge. Glad I don't have to.
  22. I was happy to see this ruling. I wonder if it will be upheld in other courts. The Judge has put the ruling on hold to allow the government to appeal. http://usnews.nbcnew...te-constitution A federal judge ruled Monday that the National Security Agency's gathering of data on all telephone calls made in the United States appears to violate the Constitution's protection against unreasonable searches.
  23. Teachers can press charges. When did they give up that right?
