  1. Lack of prior planning leads to piss poor results. Ask some of the folks who spent hours and hours stuck on roads in the cold Tuesday. Can't blame anyone but___________.
  2. New York did not have a plan on 9-11 but they do now. Guess they learned they needed one. Sorry but I will take our Georgia Government any day over one that is almost bankrupt. Some lessons come too hard for states who believe in the government dole too much. Protection and evacuation is not the same thing. I still feel that individuals need to have a plan of their own.
  3. When there are hurricanes heading to the coast there are plans to make those cars take people where they need to go and very quickly. If they can do it so can other locations. We need a better plan and a better way to direct an evacuation.
  4. I agree. It is time and valuable lessons should have been learned!
  5. This event will be used for political motives/agendas against the Governor, some county officials, and some school officials. When we had all of those cars, trucks, and buses hitting the roads at the same time with roads getting bad it was a recipe for disaster. Lessons were learned and we need to change the way we get people around in time of trouble when evacuation may be necessary. Read what happened in Sound Guy's post and try to understand. Glad I did not have to make the tough decisions and I doubt it would have been different if we had other folks in the positions of those who did
  6. Atlanta was not the only place where people had problems and I do not believe for one second that it was about money. Cobb, Paulding, Douglas, and who knows how many other counties had folks stranded. Are you blaming them? Not the government's responsibility to take care of us. If they do the best they can that is all we can ask. We will just have to disagree about this one.
  7. One of my family members was out in that for 13 hours before getting to a safe place. We don't blame the government for decisions we made. We learned a lot and will make better choices next time. Just goes to show that our society is only 3 days away from chaos when there is a serious crisis. Not the government's responsibility to take care of us. It is ours and we must be prepared to do that. BTW the kids in this county are all safe and were cared for. That is what is important.
  8. If they had treated and been wrong they would have caught heck for the millions it cost. I don't care which way they went they would have caught grief. I am just glad I did not have to make the call. Each County has to be responsible for their roads. How many got it right and did all of the pre treatment and how many trusted the weather folks to help them out.
  9. Were they supposed to run over the cars blocking the lanes. If they could not get to the highways how could they clear them?
  10. Hubby is stuck in traffic on Bakers Bridge. He can't see ahead and does not know what is up ahead. Guess there is an accident or two. Hope he can make it home tonight.....
  11. Governor Deal announced that he has heard the concerns of State Workers and Teachers and he is looking at changes in the insurance choices when the contact is up with Blue Cross Blue Shield at the end of the year. Think it will be more to their liking.
  12. I have news for you, we are in a depression. Do you know how many folks are on food stamps? Thanks Obama!
  13. The Governor has signed this into law. http://onlineathens.com/general-assembly/2014-01-22/gov-deal-signs-bill-moving-georgia-primary-date#.UuCVxOUbj-g.facebook
  14. Just another reason to repeal it. Overwhelming the system is not good for America. If the insurance companies pull out how would that affect any loss suffered by the companies?
  15. These were all personal failures and did not drag all of America into them. Obamacare has effected each and every one of us and for most it has not been in a good way. He is fast bringing this once great nation to her knees. JMO
  16. Wow, some strong words there. I am hoping the revolution happens at the ballot box. Insurance will be so high most folks can't afford it when this all plays out.
  17. Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told CNBC that Obamacare has failed to attract the uninsured, and he put forth a scenario in which the insurance company could be forced to pull out of the program. Is this a preview of things to come. Is Obama's signature legislation in danger of complete failure? Link: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101354183
  18. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery!
  19. It won't because Deal does not need me to defend him. He will win without it and I don't stay in debates where folks can't keep their insults to themselves. As I said it isn't worth my time. I am not speaking of you. You bring great energy and polite debate with you.
  20. You folks just keep trying to manufacture something that will stick. Keeps on rolling off and for good reason. I told you have at it. You are not worth my time so checking out of this thread.
  21. Don't have to explain it because it simply is not true. Can't stop you from spreading this garbage though so have at it.
  22. That is not the man I know. Guess mud slinging works for some. Deal is the best choice in the race and he has done a good job in a bad economy. I am glad we have him. We will have him after the election too. My prediction.
