I have been reading all I can about this SPLOST. I noted that only 17% of it will be going to parks and rec. The more I thought about it the more I realized that if we did not have a place for the kids to go and spend healthy constructive time then they might be on the street looking for things to do. That is never good for kids. My child spent countless hours on the ball-field. I remember thinking then how glad I was that he could do that. There was no place to go and no organized sports where I grew up. The rest is going for Public safety and we do need to support that. I will most l

Added my additions above. I do not know Chad but have heard some good things about him. I can't speak personally for the one I added for Dick because I have never been in court to see first hand.
-
Not sure but I think Dick has an office in Paulding too.

I used a beautiful silky blanket to wrap one of mine in and he almost slipped out of it. I was lucky and got a better grip. A lot of us have had close calls for silly reasons or a for an inattentive moment. I am glad you both survived it. Don't beat yourself up more than you need to over it. It won't help him or you. I will pray that the next few days prove that there will be no future troubles for him.

Happy Anniversary!! You are truly blessed to have that kind of marriage.

What a beautiful talented young lady! I know you are so very proud of her and you have every reason to be.

Oh no!! Prayers for little Grayson!

I think part of Madea's original question was about whether both Democrats and Republicans received this flier. I have looked at it again and I wondered why it was sent out during a primary with other Republicans? I guess if he lost the primary there would be no point. I still have a problem with any elected official having this kind of money available to be spent on expensive mailers. ANY of them. I don't care who they are. With the Internet, telephones, and post office available I think most any constituent could get their questions answered very quickly and cheaply. If they don't car

Pubby, everything I know about Animal says to me that he is a loyal friend and a fierce campaigner. I have chosen to support one candidate in one election and another when that candidate runs in the next election. All I can say is that if I am ever in any kind of competition or trouble I would like to have this person watching my back!JMO

who has the best Best Breakfast in the Tri County Area?
NewsJunky replied to jelly6739's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No, but I think I just read about a couple of new restaurants opening up. One was a Taste of Dixie I believe and the other is A-Rods (I think). It is where Fat Backs was. I don't know if they are open on Sunday Morning though. Maybe they can let us know. -
Lets see if things have changed - Election poll
NewsJunky replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Yes, It could be true. I can't say. I know it is true for most anyone who has land they hoped to build anything on. I heard today that the number of new home constructions fell again. Sad for the economy nationwide as well as for Georgia. Wouldn't you say? Golden is a small businessman. I don't know anyone who would understand any better the importance of jobs in this economy. -

You are probably correct. Hard to tell from that response though. -

Your point is? -
Both are fine men. I think Tommie has done a good job. I think Vernon would do a good job. Tommie has a record though and I think most incumbents with a good record (and no baggage) deserves to retain his/her office.

You going to vote for the new SPLOST so you can have a car and an officer look out for you? There are a lot of stop signs and a lot of subdivisions in this county. I take it they have already been out that way. How long did it stop the speeders and folks who don't stop for stop signs? Just asking? I would hope they are learning a lesson the first time around and the same folks are not causing the same problems again.
-
Oh, you mean it was built with our Federal tax dollars instead of County tax dollars.
-
You said it very well!
-
Doesn't the County share some funds with the Cities of Hiram and Dallas? I would not like to know that any of my tax dollars are going to put in that fancy fountain in Dallas.

That was not my intent. My comments were directed at the assertion by the OP that you should not talk to the Police and that they can't be trusted. I have posted about that and nothing else. If the Cop in Cobb is guilty then he needs to go to jail. That would make him a bad guy!

In this economy it is important. If the whole chicken costs more than just the white meat then I only want to buy the white meat. I do that with the chicken I bring home by the way. I would rather not pay for the part I don't need and can do without.
-
Maybe he doesn't want to encourage folks to come to Paulding and try to find his home. That would be my guess.
-
Take the Parks and Recreation out and I would probably be okay with it. Change the budget and what this SPLOST could be used for.
-
Just saying there are some good ones out there. Paulding is fortunate to have a good Sheriff. Course we did elect him. I think it is unfair of the OP to say we should NEVER trust the police. I think the bad ones are far and few between. At least I truly hope so.

You did notice it was not in the PF didn't you? As per your suggestion LR.
