  1. Macs are for people who need to be told how to use a computer.
  2. Use the +R, they're a bit better for using them as storage/archive discs. And older devices are more likely to read them. And like I said and others have it's just easier to disable the USB device that's showing up. The people who work for the Concierge service, Geek Squad, etc. usually are following prompts and are fairly useless. Their answers are usually re-install.
  3. It's easier to put them on a backup drive, you can put them on DVD's if you want. It will take longer though.
  4. Get a hard drive enclosure, pull the drive from the desktop and put it in the enclosure. And you'll also want to get a backup drive 500GB or 1TB or larger. Connect both to another computer and transfer the files that you want from the desktop hard drive to the backup drive. You can get both from Microcenter for around $80-90 or so. You could also turn on file sharing and transfer the pics from the desktop to the backup drive without having to pull the hard drive from the desktop. After you do that, put the drive back in the computer and now you can ahead and delete/disable the USB devi
  5. If the video card still works, and you replace the screen buy a new video cable anyway. You'll have to disconnect it to hookup the new screen anyway. One way to check if it's the cable, open the laptop slowly and look at the screen when you do. If it works when it first lights up and then goes wonky the more you open it the more likely it is the cable.
  6. Could be the video ribbon from the graphics board to the screen. These usually break before the screen actually dies. You can get one for about $5
  7. Thank you, they were both rescues and they meant the world to me. I miss them everyday especially when I get home, as Milton would start barking as soon as I pulled into the driveway and he would get the other two started so I would into the house with a trio of Chi's barking for attention. I would get down on the floor with them and let them crawl all over me and lick me until they were settled down. I did my best to keep them happy and doing well, when I would take them on walks I would let them decide which way to go, and it never bothered me to stop as much as they wanted so they cou
  8. Hey dumb ass, that's a booby trap. They're illegal and you're pretty damn stupid thinking you can't kill someone with that. If someone has any type of heart condition, or not that can kill someone. A booby trap is defined as "a device or setup that is intended to kill, harm or surprise a person, unknowingly triggered by the presence or actions of the victim", and you can get your dopey drunk ass thrown in prison for that. It doesn't matter if you think it won't kill someone or don't intend to, they are illegal and you can get your ass sued even if it doesn't kill someone. Personally I would lo
  9. They were my buddies, and it was hard for me to even start this thread. It's hard for me to even read the replies in this thread. And I knew when Milton passed that Gomez was going to follow soon after. Gomez was so protective of Milton, if he thought another dog was being too rough or aggressive towards Milton he would jump in to defend him. He didn't care how big the other was either, after Milton was gone I think he was so heart broken that he felt his purpose was over. He knew where Milton went, and wanted to be with him. And thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and words.
  10. I lost two of my babies in just over a month. Milton passed away on August 26 early in the morning. He had a seizure and fell off the couch hitting his head. He was gone in less than a minute while I held him in my arms. I lost Gomez on September 29 in the morning as well, I think he died from a broken heart as much as old age after Milton passed. He would look for him every night, even on the last night of his life. He was 17 years old when he went, I held him in my arms as well. I miss them.
  11. It's possible they are further behind than you were led to believe. And it's not your fault they received a notice, you gave them the best advice you could. They should have checked with their bank first before not sending payment. Also do they have anything they could sell? Better lose money on something smaller than possibly losing the house. Consultations are usually free as well. And in the future it would probably be better to tell someone that you would rather not give them advice and have them check with their bank, work, etc. before making a decision.
  12. That would be a Bombardier CS100, a Boeing 737 can carry up to 189 passenger but in normal configuration can carry up to 174 passengers, and is also 11 feet longer.
  13. That would be life, can't predict when he kicks the bucket.
  14. The ban on tattoos in the military Probably has something to do with Tattoos also being a sign of gang affiliation.
  15. How the hell is someone supposed to learn to drive on an interstate or icy road if they never do. There are plenty idiots that drive on interstates that do stupid crap like trying to merge onto one at 40mph. If anything an interstate is easier to drive, fairly straight, no turns, no lights, etc. Some people need to shut up and stop trying to spout off their idiotic ideas.
  16. Apparently one of my grandma's was a prostitute for a while.... cool.
  17. There wasn't any calculus in there, it was pretty much algebra with some basic trig in 1.6 for the homework questions.
  18. You can get a touch screen laptop for less than an iPad.
  19. Woman Stabs Roommate for Refusing to Stop Listening to The Eagles
  20. Dogs are a lot smarter than most people give them credit for, and they would lay their life down to protect you or your family.
