  1. While at the light on 61/278 I noticed a Paulding Marshall car with lights going. It was behind a SUV and kept creeping up on her (she was stopped at the light) almost like the police car was trying to get somewhere but that the lady was in the way. Can those cars give tickets? I said no but my husband thought they could. And we also noticed a news truck at the gas station....figured someone on here would have mentioned it already but I didn't see any mention on it
  2. The news showed a video when they reported on this and the pool looked to be an above ground inflatable pool and there looked to be a chain link fence around the property as well as a dog within the fence. Now if that was a video of the yard where the incident occurred I don't know....
  3. Thank goodness for the quick thinking of the driver. I don't know the area but had the driver decided to keep trying to get unstuck (instead of getting the kids off the bus) I'm sure the bus could have toppled.
  4. Awe they also have Anti-Monkey Butt Powder....to help with chaffing
  5. Ohhhh the new location will be a lot easier for me to get to. The Ridge Road one was a bit out of the way though I was glad to swing by when I could. The treats were and are so worth it. Love me some BBB!
  6. yeah I used to play outside all the time when I was the same age as my kids but we lived in a tiny town, in a tiny neighborhood that was surrounded by woods. We knew everyone in the neighborhood. I'm not sure why I frown on the idea of letting my own kids do that. I guess it is more of an issue of I don't trust these other peoples kids. I'm honest with my kids about why I don't let them leave the yard alone. I tell them there are bad people out there and people who make poor choices. That I love them too much to allow someone to hurt them and that I want them to grow up to be good kids so
  7. Mine are 6 and almost 10....I still don't let them go outside the yard alone. Then again the kids closest to us are in 1st & 2nd grade and are constantly dropping the "f bomb" and beating the poo out of each other
  8. It was probably my neighbors. I'm guarding my neighbors house from them at the moment while his garage door is broken. I hate thieves!
  9. I adore how everyone has the answers for everyone elses issues First of alll, with AT&T you can't send it back. It is the same box that you get your stuff with. I don't know if they have any non DVR boxes. Second of all, this may come of a shock but not everyone records shows or watches TV during the day. Does me wondering how much power my DVR uses really bother so many people?? Is it going to alter the universe if I do decide to unplug it just to save $2? I vote since everyone but us is so rich that they don't care about saving any money and love to wa
  10. I thought it was stupid and made no sense.....you can plug a flash drive in and have more DVR room
  11. I am addicted to Harbor Freight! They have one in Douglasville now. No idea how long it has been there but I noticed it the other day and have been twice now. My husband says he's going to take my car away if I keep bringing stuff home. First it was some metal stamp things, then a rock tumbler....next will be that Kill-A-Watt thing haha
  12. You are a total mathlete! Where were you when I was taking my last math class? Thanks for working that all out for me. Yeah there is 1 big box with lights, the 1 DVR/cable box plugs into the main box and the other boxes go somewhere....actually they probably feed to the main one too but I just don't see it because it goes through the basement. So it seems like it would be about $7/month at the most maybe? That doesn't seem bad. I swear Clark Howard said it was more like $15 a month. I'm afraid to see how much the computer uses!
  13. That was pretty much my thinking. The DVR box sits for about 8 or 9 hours straight from the time the kids leave for school until they turn it on later in the day, so I figured if it DOES drain an obscene amount of power I'd just start unplugging it. :o You do realize that I am going to go buy one of those things and start plugging things into it non stop right? I've got 2 weeks off before my next classes start.....woohoo new hobby haha
  14. Saving money on a power bill doesn't mean someone is having a hard time, it just means in my case I'd rather spend the money on something else if it is indeed the DVR that is the cause of the increase versus the insanely hot summer. Thanks for reminding me why I quit posting here, too many unhappy people that feel the need to attack others and put them down for senseless reasons. I'm sorry if my question has hurt your life and ruined your day in some way. I pray your life and day improves.
  15. In some situations peace is overrated. You opt for peace over and over allowing people to constantly take advantage of you until you can't take it anymore and pray for a tornado that wipes out your neighbors. Sometimes being right matters. I think I you!
  16. Oh man that is nice of them to give such a big discount NC I don't think anyone mentioned having a hard time. There is noting wrong with being curious about how much power it uses especially after Clark Howard did a segment on it. That is kinda like saying people who care about the price of gas, should give their cars back.
  17. Yeah I don't mind unplugging stuff but I can't not have my internet. I go to school online half the time And I'm afraid of the big box. It looks dangerous. Mean even haha Bubba is my hero....I'm good at cleaning, cooking and science....math not so much.
  18. Oh I think I found it here: http://www.cemc.com/documents/R-2%20Residential.pdf $24 per month 1st 1,000 KWH per month = .070 over 1,000 KWH per month = .103 This last month we used 1671 and I guess that is summer rates, I had no idea there were seasonal rates
