I saw on wsbtv (during the afternoon news yesterday) that the accident was a result of someone trying to make a left hand turn and charges were pending but of course you can't find it in writing on their site. Definitely a sad situation. My heart breaks for the family of the children. I couldn't imagine losing one of my kids.

Yes, it is linked to diet and obesity. People may naturally have a harder time regulating the uric acid in their body so when they consume foods high in it and/or are over weight, they really have a hard time. Back in the day the rich were mainly effected because they had an abundance of meat & food.

Gout is a very painful form of arthritis. My husband has that but controls it through diet and rarely needs medication (knock on wood!). Your body makes uric acid when it breaks down purines and some foods have much higher levels of purines. Try to avoid certain foods or eat them on a limited basis like pork, beef, liver and seafood. If you do eat that stuff make sure you only eat a small portion. Avoid alcohol especially beer. I thought there was something about taking potassium too. Look into that one. Speaking of idiots, did anyone see the mass of idiots parking all over the place and making lines over by the newspaper person on 92/Macland? Talk about car wreck waiting to happens. There was no organization to ANY of it. People were walking down & across Macland to make a line and others were lining up in cars and/or parking their cars where ever they saw fit. Freakin insanity!

:wub: Kudos to your hubby! I know it is hard to not be leery but I'm a strong believer in if you give someone something because they say they are in need, that is good karma to you. If they lie that is on them. I would much rather know I helped to feed a child than to turn my back because of so many untrustworthy people and that child go without.

My basic service increased. I only kept it because when I went to cancel and have just DSL they reduced it so the price of home phone & DSL = what regular DSL with no home service would cost. Biggest waste, I dont even keep the home phone plugged in because the only calls I get are stupid election robo calls I just had it disconnected and ended up going with DSL & Uverse.

Such a shame. I wasn't a big fan of her (look and music) and really wasn't shocked to hear that she died but she did have a beautiful voice. There are very few out there that deserve to die and to say so because she had an addiction is horrible. There are so many people out there with addictions, some with hardcore addictions like Heroin and others with minor ones like food.

I got the straightener (K-Pak....loooove it!) my hair stylist uses and it makes a difference. Next I'm getting the blow dryer. I may not be able to get my hair to look as awesome as when she does it but I can see a difference with the new, higher quality styling stuff.
