EVERY year, within the first 2 weeks of school, my kids get sick and miss some days. I think over the summer break, their immune system relaxes, so once they are exposed to all the germs, they catch every thing until their immune system builds back up. Having a pretty good day so far. Going to be a very busy one as usual. Taxi cabbing never ends. Kids have different kinds of appts. almost every day. Started Monday, and they continue through the end of next week, and that's just what I know of as of now. I am sure more will be added in. I was there last night as they finished putting out the fire. It was still smoking pretty good, and a lot of people were standing around watching the firefighters. Was this restaurant still open? Someone else said they thought it was closed down. If it was already closed, I'm not sure how the fire would've started.

The scenario of these 2 being in the back of the truck is not right. An EMT just so happens to live just a few doors down. He heard it as it was happening and ran straight out his door to them to try and help. He was there within seconds. He called his station, who had already gotten a call, and told them they needed to step it up, and to have lifeflight in route immediately. There was no other driver. These 2 people were the only ones involved.

That's why I worded it the way I did. "They think they may have been run over by their own truck." The people working the scene, thought they may have been. No one saw it happen, but from the scene, they were lead to believe they may have been.

They are probably speaking of the Potter House in Jefferson, GA. It is a free program for men only. They work for their stay there, attend several meetings a day, and it is a 12 month program.

I have information on this, but they were not found dead. Two people were in a truck last night, there was alcohol involved, and they decided to do some donuts on the golf course. They lost control of their vehicle, they were both ejected and seriously injured. They actually think they had been run over by their own truck. Due to weather, lifeflight could not respond. The EMTs had to stabilize them as much as possible, and ride in the ambulance and work on them all the way to Kennestone. They were both being taken into surgery when they left them. They were expected to survive.

So, my children range from 11-18, so it's been a loooong time since I had to go shopping for a newborn. I am sure they have come out with ALL kinds of new, neat things in the past 11 yrs. I am really feeling my age, because I am going to a baby shower tomorrow for a man whose diapers I used to change. I would like to get them a really cool gift, but one that is not expensive. Throw some ideas at me. What are some of the coolest things out there now for a newborn?
