The teacher is ignorant IMO. Your right, how will they learn if they're not exposed to things, "normal" children are? I have a special needs sister and I have had to fight for her my whole life. I have seen the cruelty and ignorance first hand. I have also worked with special needs children so this issue is very near and dear to my heart. I will never understand cruelty to children, especially special needs children. They fully know and understand when people are making fun of them and it has a very profound effect on them. Mr. Garcia is a hero in my book! The evil jackass who had a problem with the special needs child should have been told to get the hell out! This upsets me to no end, I can't even articulate how mad this makes me. If I ever witness something like this, it will not be pretty. I hate confrontation but I will gladly take this issue on if I ever witness it. "Special needs kids need to be special somewhere else?" What a great role model for his family.

Praying for your baby girl, there is nothing worse than when one of your babies is sick. So glad urgent care and Paulding took such good care of her. You are so right about being someones mother being the most rewarding and scary thing all at the same time. You are always so vulnerable when you're a parent. Now that your baby is taken care of, try to get some rest and take care of your ulcer, feel better. I'm so sorry about the loss of your sister, I imagine you were pretty panicked when you found out about your daughters blood clot. Thank God urgent care caught it so quick.

I heard on the news last night that you can still get the flu shot. I remember having the flu one time in my life, never had a flu shot. Husband had it sixteen years ago, never had a flu shot. Even so, with this outbreak and the severity of this strain, we're both considering getting the shot. I have flu paranoia too. I'm even more concerned for my kiddos. Given our history, it's really hard to know what to do though. We've been so lucky as have the kids, but how long will our luck hold out? I just read where someone said the shot is 80% effective. Those are pretty darn good odds.
